This video of yours is well spoken. I am in the USA, and my grandfather was born in 1911. He spoke of the great depression and was well aware of the suffering of others, but he was lucky because he lived on a large farm. The family farm days are over. That's the big difference now; 98% of the population are not farmers... Nor is the previous generation (or two, or three). If the economic good-times-rug is pulled out from under us, the population of the USA will socially implode.
i would welcome an economic disaster especially if all the rich people died off then their would be more oppotunity for everyone else I know how to hunt fish and grow my own weed so although if all the rich people were gone i would just live in one of their nice 500,000 houses in some of these big ass housing development upt he road
Share earths Resources Hmmm. I dread the day when some overseas faceless Corporation do get rights to NZ's freshwater. They wont be sharing it but be charging us "world prices" for every litre we consume. But yes, needs to be adressed how to share without some Big Business getting greedy ideas
todays Western Society Bryan will not fear any good at looking after themselves if a full Depression did hit NZ. People here are so Westernised: Maccas, KFC, Xbox, Ipod, Laptop, Cell phone, 42" Plasma etc. People wouldnt know how to gather shellfish, surfcast, dragnet, pigHunt, plant a garden they'd die of starvation real quick. Im so thankful I was taught the old ways to live off the land.
You have an advantage for sure but I can do that too but I can't repair my own teeth and my medicine is basic. To survive we need to organise. Real safety only comes in numbers. We got to know eachother via modern technology and we are better off, better informed because of it. Stay away from fast food but what about fast cars. Matt Simmons was warning that we have passed Peak Oil and now we are in Peak Moment. Only 5 gals of gas in the average Car in the USA. No Reserves, and some states empty.
all market growth & human wealth is created through energy that powers our labour and all technological advancement, running out of energy means no more Global growth. the downside of crashes in the past are identical but there will be no recovery due to energy. We will see most industrial nations fight for energy in a brutal open way to sustain our way of life .... 90% + of global population will pay for this... I see no chance for a soft landing on a global scale energy=currency
Sadly I agree with you and yes the situation is so much more serious than most people understand. Our leaders are deeply shallow people and we are poorly informed as a consequence of the system that serves the rich and fails the poor. So unto those that have it shall be given and unto those who have not it shall be taken...
I'm very worried about this issue and I'm trying to predict when the time of no return will be in my own life here in Europe. If this hits hard within the next 2-4 years I have no chance of survival in any way. I've played it through over and over and I'd starve and or get ill during the transition time, because I'm too dependant on a working system! the Eu would just turn into a Police-state over night meaning, you can't stay undetected and independent. 1 Big fashist controlled jail
Yes I agree with you and we are in the same position in New Zealand so lets try to stick together and spread the word. We need eachother more than ever. There must be an open and free society. We must unite in order to survive.
We need a stable money and credit base. Something like a gold standard but I think a gold standard is not good. We could peg the amount of money created based on the population. So as a vague idea $10000 per head population or something. I think this would be very workable.
I've been studying economics for awhile. Most stuff in economics is just technical smoke and mirrors to confuse you and make you think its more complicated then it really is. The basic premises is that gov, business, and people have to borrow every dollar in circulation from these so called banks that print it from thin air and charge interest.
What happens if they refuse new loans? The money dries up as it goes back to pay new interest, and herein we have the formula to cause a depression.
Your right. Finance and economics is essentially very basic and it is superficially made complicated so that people are confused and dont look into it. If it appears complicated, opaque and confusing from the outside then insiders can manipulate easier.

We need to kill fractional reserve banking.
