I must agree that hyundai has come along way in the past few years. The only reason why americans dont like it is cause of Movies like fast and the furious who are payed by competitors to badname the brand. If you are up for it i dare you to do some research on it. american cars are going broke so they use cheaper parts and material to build them. i dont have hyundai but they will beat a honda civic. (both stock) ive seen it.
@pornbebe05 ha american cars r doing bad? atleast they dont kill people like toyota and ford is doing really good unlike these toyota hand honda ricers out there. they suck and r slow like shit except the toyota supra thats the onley good ricer
Hyundais are the best cars if you just need to get from A to B. excellent gas mileage, , doesn't cost an arm and a leg, and reliable. If you're trying to pull some fast & furious shit, then hyundai is probably not the car for you.
I agree ... it's not just for the engine, though. It's for many things such as your wheel bearings and other parts that need to properly seat before you start hammering the crap out of your car. Give it a leisurely break-in with varying speeds and then run the hell out of it.
I'm on my fifth Hyundai since 1985 ... all of them have been awesome cars and they just keep getting better and better. lol ... you drive like I do ... I hit that 500 mile break-in mark and then hammer it.
honestly, I have an 07 Tucson and I love it, spent 26,000 for it but its worth every penny, Most assholes under estimate Hyundai but even as an SUV If i were to race I still suck up Honda's and Acura's Like no Tomorrow.
In the UK most people critizise Hyundai for bein crap but they have 5 year unlimted mileage warrantys and they have some great cars like the Coupe ( Tuscani in US ), Getz and the Santa Fae so they can make good cars!
Tell me is hyunday in USA considered as a good car, great car, luxury car or rubbish?in europe we buy it if we have to,not becoase we love it....do you(americans)love it?
I own a Hyundai Sonata and absolutely love it. I looked at all the Japanese competitors and am very happy with my purchase. Hyundai has come a long way from the past. It was cheaper and better than the Accord or Camry.
Although Elantra is nothing but a entry car, not a performance car by any means, I think you should've gotten a M/T ; much better toy for this kind of run..I've got the same 2007 Elantra 2.0L A/T in Korea last year(here in Korea, most buy 1.6L) and it's o.k for everyday trip, doing errands, etc. If you do maintain 60-70mph on highways, fuel economy will be just fine. I don't like that old engine's thrashing sound when pushed.. sometime Hyundai should replace it into new Theta or Gamma Engine.
i have a hyundai elantra 98 and got it for 1000$ bad thing is it got 285,000 miles on it :(

So good luck with your life.

You should not exceed 55 mph before your car reaches 1000 miles during the new car break-in period.

Yeah in the US it only comes with the 2.0L 4cyl. They've improved it over the years for more power and better fuel economy.
