@Drblooter99 Teachers have to diminish their vocabulary according to their students.. Which in this case is probably a bunch of ignorant "musicians" that don't know what chromatics are.
This guy is not addressing "his students" -- he's addressing potentially the whole world.
And since most of the musicians I've known, including learners, know what chromatic means, then it's the teacher who seems ignorant. And he only SAYS he's a teacher.
@Drblooter99 what's the deal? he didn't say something that you learned in your respected orchestra/band class? Or are you better than people cause you know that word?
Tricks? nothing mindbending but I do see alot of little personal qwerks you do,like fretting like Rocco does with his whole hand to get ghost/percusive sounds insted of ringing notes also you do hammer-ons insted of playing every note,I am not sure if thats what you were trying to "amaze us with by calling them tricks". Everyone has their own style and overplaying or simplistic root fifth lines dont make someone "bad"he has a buisy style but its not "wrong"& not many play like Duck Dunn can.
the trick is you are a guitar player who doesnt quite get the roll of bass guitar? ...a pick on bass? a tone that sticks out of the mix? unnecessary fills....suggest you listen to Duck Dunn....
the 2nd time you are using just one finger with your left hand if there is another trick I either don't know it or didn't catch it but I agree with sceirine ajboy
nice skills richard, for the first riff you used all 4 fingers and the 2nd riff is the was the same but with just one finger but it was on the same mnemonic scale.
@bassandguitarguy lol, you're joking right? You're just using all your fingers instead of just your index. This is pretty fundamental playing technique... :P
how is this a "trick"?

"Notes in a row" -- uhhh, I think you mean "chromatic runs". Rather weak vocabulary from an alleged teacher.
