Saw this movie when i was little kid

  • This film came out in 1954. In '50, the CIA trained Tibetans to attack China. In '53, the CIA overthrew the democratic government of Mossadegh in Iran. In '54, the CIA overthrew the democratic government of Jacobo Guzmán in Guatemala. In '54, the US refused to support free elections in Viet Nam at the Geneva Convention

This US puppeteering was only a small part of the over 50 incidents of anti-democratic interference & attacks on nations worldwide to the present day. Full list on Anarchopedia

  • I would hate to see a Disney whitewashing of this classic tale. Oh wait, Hallmark did that......

  • You obviously know nothing of the book. It is not a book against communism.

  • @Themsthebreaks1 It is and it isn't against communism: it was a commentary against Leninism and Stalinism, both of which were ultraconservative, rightwing, autocratic regimes that espoused equality as an ideal but ultimately practiced militaristic industrialism.

  • @takeitharder ... I'm from Mexico, dude. I was just joking :)

  • Just finished reading this book in english for 8th grade. It's a great book. It's so deep...

  • This book is not actually anti-communist, it is pro communist. Orwell was a socialist and pro-communist. He disliked Stalin and his oppressive policies, Stalin was Totalitarian which went against his Socialist ways.

  • Sophomore AP English Block, matched beautifully with our unit on Soviet Russia in the Advanced World Cultures part.

  • @cryptidlover101

I read the book when I was seventeen. I thought it was great!

  • Did you know that this is the only animation funded by the CIA? Because it's anti-communist, weird huh?

  • @curlzferrero haha really. do you have link for the source?

  • @100CommonCents its on wikipedia

  • @100CommonCents Google it :) I'm afraid it's not in any book, which is a shame, but several different websites (not Wikipedia) confirm it. Apparently the rights of the film were sold by his widow after his death, so I'm guessing he didn't want it to happen whilst he was alive...

  • Comment removed

  • @curlzferrero XD Orwell was a Democratic Socialist, which is closer to communist than capitolist by far. They obviously didn't realize that his point was to question your leaders and to not let them become corrupt. Orwell looks on Snowball (Trotsky and Lenin) in a light of honor, but is disgusted with Nepoleon (Stalin) for his abuse of power. They changed alot from the book to this movie...

  • @Zeppelinliveon

Has anyone out there seen the "Hotel For Dogs" movie? They did not only change the story line from the book, they bent it into a pretzel! The "First Wives' Club" was another one in which the movie was pretty different from the book.

  • high chancellor pj merola

  • Jones is Czar Nicholas II, right?

  • @Get5lapped Yes.

  • Old Major is Lenin

    Snowball is Trotsky

    Squealer is Stalin

  • @rizloa66 isn't Napoleon Stalin??

  • @FALCON95ful1 Yes Napoleon is Stalin, sorry my bad Squealer is the Cheka/NKVD (Felix Dzerzhinsky/Genrikh Yagoda)

  • @rizloa66 No, Napoleon is Stalin. Squealer is Molotov.

  • @grungedog3 And Snowball is Trotsky.

  • I remember some dogs tried to kill Boxer but failed.

And some Animals got killed because Snowball appeared in their dreams..Right ?
