I watched the Anime about 50 times. I never saw this movie and I don't desire to see it. I like movies better than anime. The anime version was very movie like. This movie version is... very anime like, or Hong Kong Cinema like. Very ironic.

I just looked it up to keep my facts straight, I watched the original animated movie like 10 years ago, and the anime I watched like 2 years back. It is MUCH newer you can tell.
Blood+ anime was based on Blood: The Last Vampire. The portrayal of this movie is so far from the original concept that I don't even think it'd be worth watching.
For instance, "Half blood"? Saya was not a halfblood. She was an original vampire. That's why it's called "The Last Vampire".
I didn't think I'd like this that much, but.. I loved it. ;3 And yes, I've seen both Blood+, Blood: The Last Vampire (animation) and even read the novel. ._. I still love it. I love the live action even more than the animation of the movie, really..
I'd class it as a *** film if it didn't have shitty looking monsters from like...God of war 1. It's now a 1/2 * film in my eyes. Only reason I like it is becuase of Kyouki from Kimi wa petto but that was atlest 6 or 7 years ago :/

It is a pitty that whith the awsome potential that is whithin the story of Blood+(the anime ofc) that they choose to spend the budget on such an americanized crabby script. Funny how the director thinks that just by naming the main character Saya makes the story coherent with the anime. How can you not make a live action Cowboy Bebop? Its one of the many more realistic animes. Something like dragonball or bleach or naruto. THOSE cant be made. Because All the fight scenes would look like Crouching Tiger HIdden Dragon where they walk through the air slowly and then clash in the air. But cowboy bebop is EASY. man! I just saw this in the reader (it's like a newspaper that talks about events in san diego) and totally freaked.I hope it doesn't suck..... all other live action version of animes seemed to suck pretty bad (example: princess princess and NANA) IMO
though they don't say much about diva...... she was my favorite character (I was going to cosplay as her) and if diva was supposed to be the girl in the crappy white clothes and the kimono I'm sort of disapoitonted.
If you're talking about this live action movie, it was originally filmed primarily in English and then dubbed into Japanese. If you're talking about the first animated movie, that was also primarily done in English with some Japanese.
I never saw the series, but there's no 'Japanese version' of either this movie or the original animated movie. Just dubs.

So you won't find all the characters in Blood+ in here, and it will be a slightly different storyline.

@t0m31292 Im pretty sure in this case it was movie first, then they came out with an anime for it, but this movie doesn't seem to be like either of them from this trailer :S The anime wasn't really based on the movie either, I think they just took the premise of it and did what they wanted, but I liked the anime the best as well

How can you not make a live action Cowboy Bebop? Its one of the many more realistic animes. Something like dragonball or bleach or naruto. THOSE cant be made. Because All the fight scenes would look like Crouching Tiger HIdden Dragon where they walk through the air slowly and then clash in the air. But cowboy bebop is EASY. But yes i really hope they dont fuck it up. But it CAN be made, its not that difficult.

The animated film was cool as a technical benchmark for the genre, but unlike Ghost In the Shell, Blood was devoid of substance...

this movie SUCKED. they butchered the storyline of Blood: The last vampire, they add on deadweight in the form of an annoying non-asian, they add useless trinkets and crap to the plot. i.e. she's not a vampire, she's HALF vampire, the red shield isn't even called the red shield, apparently there is a 'strongest breed of vampire which is not saya or an 'original'. basically, the directors/writers pulled crap out of their asses and caslled it "Blood: the last vampire". terrible film

Agreed. A bit harsh, but.....you are right! Never saw the Anime...never heard of it until I saw the trailer last week for the movie. Curiosity got the best of me...AANND....I saw this Sunday afternoon. UUUUGGGHHHH......good premise....bad execution. The movie sucks!!

Believe it or not, this is not based of Blood+, in fact is an alternate universe story. Blood The Last Vampire, which was violent and very good movie from 2000. So don't go posting This is a Adaption of Blood+. It's nothing like Dragon Ball either!

man! I just saw this in the reader (it's like a newspaper that talks about events in san diego) and totally freaked.I hope it doesn't suck..... all other live action version of animes seemed to suck pretty bad (example: princess princess and NANA) IMO
though they don't say much about diva...... she was my favorite character (I was going to cosplay as her) and if diva was supposed to be the girl in the crappy white clothes and the kimono I'm sort of disapoitonted.

If you're talking about this live action movie, it was originally filmed primarily in English and then dubbed into Japanese. If you're talking about the first animated movie, that was also primarily done in English with some Japanese.
I never saw the series, but there's no 'Japanese version' of either this movie or the original animated movie. Just dubs.
