what if my VMs that I want backup are spread across different hosts? Can I run the backup jobs all at the same time? If a snapshot of a VM is taken, metadata information on the LUN is changed and for that the ESX host needs a scsi reservation, right? That means the other host has to wait until the scsi lock is released and will re try to get write access to the LUN until the lock is released by the previous host accessing the LUN. The more hosts are trying to get a lock, the more retries occur.
