Ray, I've seen a number of Hammer horror films on Beta that James of the AVGN reviewed it back last year where he did the "Cinemassacre's Monster Madness: Sequel-A-Thon", but he has them on DVD.
Began in 1976 Impressive My brother started a VHS collection in early 80 The old machines were expensive but built like tanks and the tuner sections were incomparable [they were monaural ] Hope you have a few spare Betamax machines-- They garner top dollar from Ebay --VHS are so common you can't give them away and most are well used anyway! But as I mentioned, all the machines from the first 5 years are incomparable for their performance-- even by later standards!
Great collection, way too many Betamax tapes. I used to collect VHS tapes when it was recorded off of TV, but I got of them back in 2006, except the pre-recorded VHS tapes are all Disney that I'm keeping as well. BTW, I have a lot of James Bond movies on DVD with the exception of "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace" which I don't have. It has Daniel Craig as James Bond which are both don't have in your collection on your Betamax tapes.
And I forgot to say, YouTuber "NickWilliam89" also has the James Bond movies in his collection which was recorded off of Spike back in 2006, and so does "nesfan111" which he has the whole 007 series on DVD as boxed sets which was in the wrong order. The original "King Kong" from 1933 is still a classic and it was a WOR-TV favorite. James Rolfe of the AVGN reviewed that film in "Cinemassacre's Monster Madness 3" episode.
Wow! The original "Parent Trap" on Betamax. Me and "AubreyMan62187 also has the 1997 VHS of the film, and so does "NickWilliam89" where he has the 2001 VHS as part of the short-lived "Vault Disney" collection. I have "Superman", Superman 2", "Superman 3" and "Superman 4" on DVD as part of the "4 Film Favorites" series. The only film that you don't have on Beta is "Superman Returns".
I have the 1991 of "Fantasia" in my collection. And so does "NickWilliam89" and "AubreyMan62187". "MartinStone21" also have the DVD with "Fantasia 2000". I hope I can get the "Diamond Edition" on Blu-Ray of the two films coming out in December. It was originally going to be release in the Spring, but they pushed back to a December release. I hope I can get "Fantasia" and "Fantasia 2000" when it comes out on Blu-Ray this Christmas.
In addition to movies, you've got the entire "Twilight Zone" TV series in Beta. AVGN's James Rolfe also did a Top 10 favorite episodes from the TV series. And you also got the various TV series on Beta, thanks to DVD.
I am amazed at the sheer size of your collection! Nice way to keep them organized in their sleeves so you can pull out one without pulling out the entire stack!
I buy blank Beta tapes from eBay...have for years now. But, some companies still sell them. And, never had a problem with the Dymo labels peeling off!!
There's also a Beta copy of "Supergirl" that I've never seen. MF Mike reviewed it as part of "Motherfreakin' Monday".

D00d, I envy you. I only have 80s and 90s VHS tapes.

you may have covered this in another clip, but who do you use as a supplier for beta tapes? can you still get them, and how much are they per tape?
and have you ever had issues with the dymo peeling off of the tapes while they are in the heat of the machine?
udanax19 3 years ago
I think the only places you can get Beta tapes are places like eBay, but they are on there. I got a box of tapes for about £20 on eBay.

Very Impressive. Thanks for sharing.
I wonder what tape 42 (with Japanese writing) is? Keep up the good work.
Interests2009 3 years ago
I think that is a TV-set-up tape, with color bars, etc., that I got from Japan. And I think it's in the ED-Beta format!!

Boy, watching those tapes go by makes me a little envious of all the fantastic, rare stuff you have... :)
