I have never heard so much rubbish in my life, the petrol is not alwys faster! Modern diesel engines do burn efficiently you fool. The engines in the skoda are the old VW ones, so not as refined. Drive a ford diesel turbo and it's quiet. The diesel is far better, it does twice the MPG and doesn't slow down with 4 passengers! Please learn about cars! Don't put silly tuning boxes on diesels as they ruin them completely, the same with so called performance air filters which are rubbish.

@Psychopathe24 in lithuania the gasoline and diesel has the almost same price. 1 liter of gasoline costs 4.60 litas and 1 liter of diesel costs 4.40. 1 dollar = 2.50 litas, and the payment is 2000-1500 litas per month, so if you have a job it's ok, but if you have car and no job then it's immposibl to save money for something because you spend it all on gass..

Very informative. With every human on the planet driving a car gas and diesel will become prohibitively expensive. When the scarcity strikes vegetable oils from wild nuts and seeds will source bio-diesel but gas engines can be converted to run on wood gas sourced from burning wood garbage or manure.

Still yearning for that future fuel that yields energy as generously as gasoline. When the well runs dry all the fancy technology is going to come to a crashing halt.
