el spoilers se utiliza para disminuir velocidad, pero en este caso estaba siendo utilizado para descender altura, por supuesto que disminuir velocidad, pero el objetivo principal era disminuir altura, cuando comienza el video se observa que trae demasiada altura con relacion a la distancia de la pista.

Look at the Dutch Caribbean Airlines (redtail) all the way to the back :( so sad i miss that airlines. I worked as a flight attendant for that airlines, some years back! But thank God i work now for KLM THE BEST!!!

yeah i was thinking that to spoilers up in air = faliure :P maybe cause the pilot went to fast weird anyhow PPL when you land don't clap XD

The MD-11 is so heavy, when descending it builds up so much speed that they need the spoilers to slow down the aircraft

No this flight came from princess juliana.

the flightroute was Amsterdam-TNCM-TNCC(Curacao).

This video is not recent.

Now KLM use the Md-11 instead of the B747.

and the route has been also change.

Yes they did this because Curacao has 3 daily flight to amsterdam.

KLM, Martinair and Arkefly.

They come up, when the aircrafts mains touch the ground, and they go down via the captain, after the a/c has slowed to a safe taxi speed, all they do is create drag and make the wing lose all lift, so he can slow the aircraft down.
