i made pizzas last night and baked them on my weber gas grill using pizza stones.... turned out great. using a gas grill is sooo superior to trying to bake in an oven that just doesn't get hot enough. the gas grill got up to 550-600 degrees Fahrenheit....perfect for quick baking (8 min) for a large pizza. the crust turned out beautifully crunchy....we loved it!

What a horrid pizza. Several things wrong here

First. Way too much oil underneath the the pizza dough. This will make the dough heavy, greasy and slightly bitter as the olive oil burns.

Second,. The dough is way too thick and will therefore not be crunchy.

Third. The cheese was not spread correctly.

Serously. if you want a real tastey pizza, try cooking on bricks placed over hot coals on a BBQ

Actually, No. It's delicious with uncomplictaed flavors. Usually its made with a bearly cooked or raw tomato sauce w/fresh flavor & the cheese &basil just compliment it. I prefer it to the heavier "works" pizzas the rest of my family enjoys. Use a bit of oragano or tyme (sparingly) & dont forget the salt, especially if U R not using a heavy flavored sauce. Try it, I'll bet you get hooked on it. Sorta like when you just want a nice dish of spaghetti with tomato & basil & not a heavy meat sauce.

The point of a margherita pizza is to have the cheese in slices like that, to not be perfect. It's not the fake bullshit pizza you buy in pizzerias, it's real deal Italian pizza. This is the basic pizza you'll get in Italy, with a thin crust, tomato sauce, and slices of the cheese on top, sprinkled with basil, so you can see all the colors. It was originally made for the Queen Margherita. Don't say it's wrong, because it's not.
