  • Yes, Ufer said that Michigan had shaved a few hairless nuts. If that was said today, it would be on every blog and every sportscast of any kind in America. Hysterical

  • Shut out by Michigan in Columbus...not one of Hayes' better days.

  • No, I'm not catholic, just careless. LOL! I found that hilarious and I happen to be catholic.

  • From listening to these videos, I see I wasn't the only one who used to tape Bob Ufer's Meeeechigan football broadcasts. So many names I haven't heard in years - in this case, I hadn't heard the names Jerry Zuver and Dom Tedesco in about 36 years!! Gosh, I miss Bob Ufer!

  • @twyman do you still have the recordings?

  • Chris Schenkel at the beginning, I think.

  • Rob Lytle RIP

  • You've gotta Love Bob Ufer. "Bless your cotton-pickin' soul, from Virginia." As a Virginia native & a Michigan die Hard, I think it's time we go to Columbus this weekend & shave a couple of hairless nuts! GO BLUE

  • cryer & subjective homer wuss. Showboater POS.

    "awwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!"

  • RIP ROB LYTLE!!!!!!

  • Rob Lytle was the greatest player of the Bo era, and one of the greatest Michigan players ever. And this game was special for him, 29 carries for 165 yards and a TD as Woody's boys were humbled on their home turf.

    RIP #41

  • RIP Rob Lytle. The best.

  • its funny how im friends with him on facebook my friends mom knew him so now know him =)

  • I was sitting in the open end zone with my father there was a very brief snow fall.

Not a happy day, Michigan dominated for 4 quarters.

  • Ive been watching Michigan football since 1964 and this is my FAV Michigan VS ohio b rate game

  • Leach is the only person to be brave enough to talk "smack", so to speek, to Woody Hayes.

  • Only Ricky Leach would have the Chutzpah to wave to the Ohio State crowd to settle down. And he was so good that Bo actually let him get away with it. :)

  • I was in the Mighty Meeeechigan Marching Band back then and remember that game well. The suckeye fans hated that game and were so in shock that they could barely muster boos when Meeeechigan left stadium. No one before or since matches Bob Ufer for intensity and football knowledge. He so loved Meeeechigan football which is quite evident in his voice A great caller of the game and color man all in one great ::3 horn honks:: package. GO BLUE

  • Rob Lytle was invincible in this game. he had like 164 yards on 20 carries, plus that TD run that made it 22-0. He was just a terrific runningback. I wish I was alive in the 70's so I could see him play

    Go Blue!

  • @Poole1Dan he was magnificent. I got to meet him back in the day and he was aware of who he was but still cool. A real thrill for a young kid like me. RIP Rob Lytle

  • I love the candid shots of the players walking in the locker room at the end; the only player I was able to identify was Ricky Leach.

  • Michigan won this game despite having no pass completions.

  • I think 2 of those passes were intercepted.

  • The first Michigan game I ever watched. Ricky Leach, Harlan Huckelby, and Bob Ufer!

  • "...They have shaved a few hairless nuts here this afternoon."

    God Bless Ufer!!!!

  • no i'm not catholic, just careless!!!! lol

  • I know. That was a good one.

  • You would get fired if you said that on the air today. Alas.

  • I wonder if Corso got in trouble for referring to Ricky Watters (when he was at Notre Dame) as the "Raging-Catholic"

  • I don't remember either.

  • Rick Leach was the first Michigan player I ever knew about. He was the QB when my mom went to Michigan. :D

  • This is the best cotton-pickin' broadcast I've ever heard! Thanks WH.

  • What's with the horn sound?I've heard the same horn sound when I watched the video of Anthony Carter scoring the game winning touchdown that beat Indiana in 1979.Was that something Bob Ufer always did whenever Michigan scored a touchdown?

  • I'm surprised you don't know the story. I thought every UM fan did.

Ufer always likened UM playing a game of football to the military conquest of General George Panton in World War 1. The horn actually came from Patton's jeep. Bob would honk the horn 3 times for a touchdown, 2 times for a field goal or safety and 1 time for an extra point.

  • No I really didn't,at first I thought it was something that the UM band did back in the Schembechler era. Thanks for telling me,it shows me that I've got a lot to learn about the history of UM.

  • @WolverineHistorian I want to thank you wolverine historian for posting your excellent collection of Michigan vidoes. including the classics of the late great Bob Ufer

  • Thanks man. Ufer is killer great.

  • Yay Bob Ufer

  • Im not a michigan fan, however this was one of BO's best teams , they scored a ton of points.
