  • Gotta love physics :3

  • i set this up in a bunch of random places in my house now im waiting for someone to come home

  • @Tylurnol hi tyler

  • @Alexthewilliams this is why i told andrew to bring a fork and spoon to the beach

  • it works

  • watch my video i have the trick for it:)

  • @SexIsNotForKids I gave you a thumbs up because your name made me laugh. :D

  • howd he do that

  • I use a dime and two forks. no burning, but it's right at the very edge, too. I did it to demo cantilever bridges in front of my class when I was eight - I still do it once in a while for laughs.

  • i love doin this. never tried burning th toothlpick. ill have to give it a try. thx

  • listen at 1:45 yhyeahhh

  • ist an old shit

  • awesome

  • I can do balance ten nails on the head of a single nail. It's really cool and it even could pass as a work of art.

  • we did that in my 8th grade science class.....

  • Thats not a bar trick!!!! that is physics!!!

  • duh, most bar tricks use physics, "bar tricks" is just a title, because you 'trick' them into a bet while at a bar. hence the term.

  • Whatever nerdy!!! So what??? Just shut the fuck up!!! Mother fucker!!!

  • ha! the old get defensive when corrected comment. how cute.

  • It's all about the center of gravity. Just because the object which is the combination of the toothpick, spoon and fork is irregular, doesn't mean it doesn't have one. The center of gravity can even be in the air, which would be the case if it weren't for the toothpick. Any object will balance on its center of gravity be it regular or irregular. If you burnt it before balancing it, you would have to estimate exactly the center of gravity. Balancing it first does that for you.

  • this is not a family trick, i've seen this so many times..

  • wow, thats really kool!

  • SO YOU CANT SEE IT M8...

  • i must be retarded then

  • same here

  • family trick? lol sureeee you know how many times i seen this same trick with the burning and all, all over thew internet? pls dont try to take credit for someones find.. thanks.. I do this all the time...

  • how the hell do u do this ?!

  • i no how it is possible

nd i guessed rite before i even tried this trick it takes time 2 balance it out nd i guessed rite im smart =p

so u can do that then take it off nd put ur index finger on the tip of the toothpick nd gently put it down on the tip of the cup nd the gently move ur finger nd it should balance

  • hmm..how is it possible ? ok i see it but i dont get it :)

  • Okey like this.. the grip is on the other side of the middlepoint there all the weight is taken up the thing is that we get tricked that all the force should be at other side but it isn't therefor it dosen't fall over

  • bad ass trick, it took me about 4 minutes

  • physics...

  • wow

  • cute:)

  • well the trick is that the way the spoon and fork are they are distributing the heavy weight from the handles thus the handles are heavier then the heads. so its just a simple balancing act. not magic! cool addittion with the burning of the tooth pick tho.

  • i don't know if this is what you're suggesting but you definitely did not create this trick

  • woow, this really works. me and my friend did it right now! awesome dude.......

  • thats awesome , gonna go try that

  • incredible...!!!

  • awesome, works awesome!

  • NORM !!!

  • not a trick if you suck at it

  • works well with a drunk audience

  • works well with a coin too

  • I just done it - works great

  • yep...I just tried it, and it really works...it's pretty awesome.

  • my pass is pooper take my acc

  • i think the old guy is some kind of wizard ! ! !

  • im0ler are you friggen retarded?? look at all the camera angles to show that there is in face no hole in the glass, just because your to stupid to understand how something works doesn't mean it's not possible you tard.

  • theres no hole in the glass. it can be done because the handles on the spoon and fork act as a counterweight.

  • yea he just poked a hole in the glass

  • poked a hole in glass yah that makes sense its a balancing thing search heyscuba and watch the vid about this

  • listen to what you're saying. he poked a hole in glass! think before you write

  • dumbass he didnt poke a hold in there!!it actually works i even tried it!!

  • that was amazing :) great job guys im gonna go try that now can u tell me how to do it please thanks?:):):):):):)

  • i just tried it and it worked brilliantly. You can also move the match/toothpick around the rim of the glass easily because of the pull on the center of gravity. thanks for the 10 mins of amusement!! im sick at home on a friday night :)

  • krazy are you retarted?

  • ur retarted

  • how the fuck did he do that???

  • Ok, blazin, i like how you call on science and such... but really chemistry has no place here..., you can break off the entire match end and it'll work

2nd - mass does change significantly if you burn it

3rd - The real reason why this works is because of the way the spoon and fork are set up, most of their weight is in the handles, when you put them together like it has been demonstrated... the whole system is balanced b/c the center of mass of the spoon+fork, is INSIDE the glass,

  • @theg0demper0r Buzz killer!!!

  • pretty cool

  • You try it 4 yourself and c how amazing it is

  • yur a idiot! you just took 1:46 off my life you ass

  • The reason it works is because even though the end of the toothpick was burned off, it still maintains the same amount of mass that it was before, therefore it's still balanced.

Now...if you REMOVED that burned end, it'd definitely fall.

  • Wrong it still works. It even works with a piece of straw from a broom. plus it doesnt have the same mass after its burnt you idiot

  • I disagree. Physics' theory of conservation of mass states that regardless of whether an object is in a solid, liquid, or gas...it still maintains the same mass.

For example, you take an ice cube, weigh it. You melt that ice cube, put it in a cup, weigh it and subtract the cup's weight...it'll equal the ice cube's weight. Conversation of Mass.

  • I'll agree with you there, but this is not a closed system, particles can and do escape to the air (smoke) leaving the result lighter...

  • True, however I'm sure that the burning caused a slight amount of sticking, for lack of a better word, between the glass and the wood not unlike welding. That would probably fill in the gap for where particles have turned to gas(smoke).

And yes, I do realize that welding is mostly between metal and metal. I'm merely using it as a reference point.

  • you are stupid i think people might actually read things that you or retards like you write and think its true you are way off base with everything you say and the analogy you use has nothing to do with what your talkn about

  • hahaha did you really just say that the burning caused sticking? Its not that at all buddy. Im guessing youll be voting for ron paul next year?

  • you are a retard. thats nothing like burning an object. y dont you try it yourself and then knock off the burnt end it still stays up so you are wrong both ways. try burning a piece of wood then weigh it and see if it weighs the same you idiot. yea what kind of moron thinks ashes weigh the same as solid wood.

  • Wow. Are you an idiot? Look it up. Everything that I just said has been said entirely with Chemistry as my evidence/reference point.

If you really want to dispute my findings you shouldnt be arguing with me. You should be arguing with the science because that's really what we're fighting over: the science of how this trick works.

  • I don't think there is fusing of any sort... i'm going to try this myself to see what it looks like...

  • There probably isn't any fusing. That was just me going out on a limb there. =P

  • Of course it has to do with the subject we're talking about. You are saying that the burnt piece has nothing to do with the thing balancing, but I say that because of Chemistry and the Physics of it, that its entirely the reason it's still balanced.

  • listen retard. fact #1 you can break off the burnt piece and it still works. fact #2 wood does not have the same mass after being burnt. fact #3 youre an idiot. fact #4 you use chopsticks to type

  • I may not agree with Kenny's racist, insulting remarks, but he's right. The law of conservation of mass provides for the fact that no matter is truly destroyed; however, nearly all the mass of the burnt side is "lost" (just moved to another location, really) in the form of smoke as the fire puts the wood through a chemical change.

  • And it's also true that even if the burnt piece completely breaks or falls off (as it did in this video, if you were watching closely), the balance is not lost, simply because that small section of the toothpick is much too light to affect the balancing that is occuring due to the far heavier counterweights (the metal forks).

  • that was good not!!

  • crap you wasted 1.45 minits of my flipping life dick

  • thanks for wasting 1.45 mins of my life ya nobs

  • it's not a trick, that is the worst 1:45 i've ever wasted!

  • This is old trick

  • Class :D

  • very good job,... love that trick,...

check out my version of this trick on my page,...

    scuba

  • whats the point? The toothpick wasnt used as a coutnerbalance in the first place

  • yes but the rednecks in the video didn't understand that. They think it's MAGIC! Yay!

  • iz that 4real?

  • awesome! thanks

  • nice one, the physics involved are really nice

  • thats awesome

  • That was pretty good

  • woah that's very cool

  • I do this same trick on a salt shaker and a toothpick holding up the other toothpick and forks.

  • how does he do it?

  • if you try it yourself, believe me, it'll work.

  • for real
