If I understood what you said, this is precisely why I prefer the German lyrics. There's always something deeper about them, more intricate as well, whereas when the songs are translated into English it always feels to me like more of an easy listening. I feel that the German lyrics really show all of Bill's sensibility, maturity and how brilliantly he plays around with the words... and it's never as special in English, sounding a little too much "for the masses", in my opinion.
