Could something like this be hardwired, too my 900w-1500w space heater, to reduce voltage to say 450w-750w?

Yes. Since the control is based on triac phase control, it can be used to reduce the voltage going to your space heater. That would be a resistive load.

Hi,
This is simple Triac based phase control. Uses BT136. Works great for AC motors. and the entire BOM cost is $1.
