I think it has something to do with the jungle setting. Cryengine 1 was used of farcry (2004) so maybe with an urban setting you'll see that crysis2 (cryengine 3) is improved

Yes this is very impresive indeed, but it would not work as a monkey island game, and i shall tell you why.

the original monkey island games that where made in 2D are the best ones, mainly because the 2D enviornment makes the story liniar and easy to follow. if it was made in as a sandbox the player would quickly loose track of the task at hand, and get distrackted. you could offcourse limit the places the player could go, but this would just seem unnatural and strange.
