Beautiful video, it made me cry. My cat died from old age last Friday. She first came to our family when I was only 10 (I'm 24 now) as a stray. I was the first person that she let pet her. I miss her so much it hurts. I still feel like I'm in the middle of a nightmare, for the pain is too much to bear. I still have another cat, one that is turning 17 next month. I can't bear to think losing her as well. Anyone who can say "it's just a cat" have clearly never lost a pet before.

My cat is on the brink of passing away. Poor old thing, I've grown up with him. Had him for over 14 years. Best cat we have ever had. Never bitten or scratched. The first one there when comfort was needed. Waiting for the inevitable is the worst part. We are going to miss him more than words can explain.

I am so sorry for your loss! I had a cat named Sami that we had for over 14 years. We had to put her down on 04/20/09 after she struggled with hyperthyroid disease for about two years. She was thin and weak but had a very hard time letting go. Rest in peace Sam and Sami! Miss you so much!

I had a cat named Sam too. One of the best cats there ever was. This is the ONLY video on youtube that has had me teared up. My cat Sam, she ended up dying from us putting her down only because she had a tumor eating her face oway. Not teribly but so bad that i took her into my room, shut off the light and took a flash light and shined it in her mouth and you could see the light come through a hole on the top of her nose. Now just talking about her makes me cry.

I used to have 2 guinea pigs, and they both died within a week of each other. I was devesatated, and for 2 weeks I only cried. I had had them for 4 years and they were like a part of me, and to have them die was like having a big, gaping hole in my chest, making it hard to breathe. The hole is a part of you, when a loved one dies, but you'll get up again, and it will heal, though you'll always remember that loved one. Stay strong.

I know what it feels like. My dog died of old age one and a half years ago (has it really been so long? Wow.). I was devastated. I'd had him since I was three. It's like a chunk of you has just gone away, and all you have are memories, and the memories just hurt.

But after a while, it gets better. That chunk doesn't return, but it heals. You never forget the memories, though, and eventually life just continues from there.
