  • All the GLOW Gals were 80's sexy! Loved barefooted Little Egypt!

  • Yeah, she was a little to thin, to be fighting.....no meat on those bones...

  • Great video. It's awesome Little Egypt is posting and talking about her experiences. I don't want to spam the group, but I did start a yahoo group for GLOW fans to discuss the show. If you're interested, please message me on youtube and I'll happily pass along the address for the site. All GLOW fans are welcome!

  • Little EgyptL I just got to read through all the comments. Thanks for posting. Give yourself a hug from me. The fact that you were little but still had that feistiness made you one of my definte favorites, and you provided some closure to questions I had from my childhood. I can't tell you in words how much this means to me. THANNK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

  • Dude, her last match was against The Heavey Metal Sisters. That sux! I can't believe Little Egypt takes the time to respond to fan messages. I loved, loved, loved Little Egypt because she was cute, little but she never got pushed around. Miss u!

  • Sigh this is painful for me to watch one of my faves to get hurt soo badly :(

  • Oh wow, you're alive and kicking.

  • Hello, Little Egypt. I've saw your match against Dementia when she bit your leg. Was it an experience to have a match like that?

  • Boy howdy, it was...:) It was one of the rare times that GLOW used fake blood and had no commentary for the match. I mean what was an announcer suppose to say anyway....."Stop the fight!!!...She's getting KILLED!!....Is that ref blind!!!"

  • Hi Little Egypt. I wish we could get some of the other GLOW girls on youtube to be as accommaditing to their fans as you are. Thanks for all the insight. It's been great reading what you have. to say!

  • Printcutfold: Well it might not be to much longer now. I just got back from L.A and had a chance to visit with Matilda, Hollywood, Lightning and Babe. I drove up to give an interview with a Houston based Documentary crew. It was so fun to see them and I posted some photos on my facebook page. You can send invites to "Glow LittleEgypt" to see them.

  • Hi there Little Egypt. I was wondering, since your injury cut your career short in GLOW, if you ever had any regrets about the way your character ended.

Thanks again for commenting its awesome to have an inside perspective you were my favorite GLOW girl!

  • glowfan66: my time with GLOW was very short and my character was just starting to come into her own. It takes time to develope a character and what that character will be able to get away with. (fan reaction, etc)

I was just starting to push the envelope. I was becoming more defiant and getting away with a few more cheating elements as the show progressed. I felt that I could have done so much more with it, and then it just stopped one day, dead in its tracks.

  • raiders75: Part 1 Its hard to see but in 4:20 my heel catches a separation in the mat. It tore my ACL. In wrestling its so important to be able to support lateral movement and it wasn't long before I realized that there was no way I could continue wrestling. Game Over.

I worked very hard at strengthening my legs to give me addtional support for activities I enjoyed.

About 3 years ago I over extended myself while playing tennis and what was left of my knee finally snapped. Not fun.

  • Raiders75: part 2 I finally had surgery to clean up the cartilage etc. I chose not to rebuild my ACL, instead I continue to work hard at keeping my legs strong and over time learned how to stop an activity before my leg gets to tired.

I still enjoy skiing, powerwalking etc. I am bumbed that I had to give up tennis. Oh well.:)

    Thanks for the question.

    Egypt

  • What did you do? Di you tweak your knee or was it worse like a torn ACL or something? I couldn't see what you did. Please let me know.

  • Hi little egypt you were the best

  • Also, Tammy was related to frank the referee...

    She later passed.

I think Ashley is in the airline business. A possible stewardess.

  • Thats great info, what do you mean by 'passed'

  • I heard not sure if this is fact or fictional, that some fans would be abusive to the girls.

Lastly, how did the glitter stick soo well? I've tried duplicating it with hairspray and glitter but, just doesn't work. Thanks Egypt for all the insights.

Is it true that you ladies would call each other by character name?

  • usctrojans2007: It was true that some of the fans were verbally abusive to the girls.

But I can say this, you never knew if the fans were going to "cheer or boo" when you entered the ring. It really depended on who you were wrestling. Matilda's character was always under attack. It was hard for her to handle, and she didn't like it at all.

Matilda aka Queenie, had a very good heart and was really a gentle giant. But her experience of the show was different then mine.

    part 1

  • usctrojans2007: part 2. Yes, its true that we called each other by our character names. We did shorten them, like Doll, Amy, Tara etc. We referred to Matilda as Queenie, that's what she preferred. Its hard for me to remember all the first names because we never used them. If I saw any of them today, I wouldn't hesitate to use their character names.

The glitter was purchased by the make up artist. It was pre-mixed and worked great, I'm sorry I don't remember the brand. ;)

    Egypt

  • I actually had the chance to speak with non other than the big German Matilda the Hun. She gave me a few insights about some of the girls and the show.

facts: the royal Hawaiian also played either Sara or Mabel as did Ashley.

Palestina was a talented opera singer.

Olympia works at Crunch in West Hollywood as an instructor for some type of work out class.

Susie Spirit was a LV show girl before joining GLOW>

  • Little egypt still give me a damn hard-on!!!! This takes me back to 1986.

  • OO S..h.i.t that was so good match wen the knee no blows :-( Hi Egpt =)

  • ernestoche87: Hi

    Egypt

  • Egypt do you know whatever happened to spanish red she kind of just dropped out of sight also what did you like most about being on glow

  • brucesdavis76: Part 1. I don't know what happened to Spanish Red. I am very curious to find out. If anyone knows please post.

I have to say that one of my favorite memories of GLOW was when we were heading into the ring on match day.

If you were entering the ring from the front, there would be a line of kids that would huttle around waiting to talk. I wasn't much more than a kid myself, but they were so into the characters. They would collect autographs and get so excited.

  • Part 2. I also liked practices, it gave me a chance to get to know the girls better and I loved learning new moves.

I knew nothing of wrestling prior to GLOW so for me, it was sooo interesting. I also liked the fact that in a practice, management wasn't around and the energy was much more relaxed.

Rehersals were great because it gave us one on one time with eachother and we could get really creative with our matches.

Thats were I built my memories.

    Great question

    Egypt ;)

  • Thanks Egypt for answering our questions and in such detail

  • I remember when this happened: I was 7 or 8 years young and the Doll was my fav. I had never seen her rap and was excited to see it. I was pumped, Four excellent wresters about to go at it. Then Egypt had her accident and I began crying hysterically! My brothers insisted Egypt wasn't hurt and it was planned. Being 8 years old, I believed them. Now, many years later, I see it was real. Very sad to know she was actually injured.

  • It sure was, thanks for posting. Its nice to hear from female fans of wrestling.

  • OUCH OUCH OUCH!!! There are movies that look spectacular and wrestlers get up no problem. This on the other hand you can hardly tell what exactly happened and it was just a second yet that's the real deal. I fully sympathies with Egypt. I blew out my knee picking up a freebee in the park of all places yet I never hurt myself during my football years. It's that one bad step that will get you.

Anyway she was a great athlete and deserves applause.

  • Thx for the comment. She was a great athelete and having her knee blown out because of a separation in the mat, seems like such a waste.

I think out of all the girls in Season 2, Attache and Little Egypt took some of the toughest bumps and technically they preformed some of the best squashes of that season, possibly of all time.

    Egyptluvr

  • I love the raps of the Heavy Metal Sisters..for rocking roll girls..they sure can Rap good! :)

  • The matches weren't bad but two things killed G.L.O.W. for me and oddly enough the laugh track wasn't one of them:

    1. The announcers were easily the worst in wrestling history and I am taking Herb Abrams into consideration when I say that.

    2. The shows were all in the same venue that the AWA was in at that point and the decidedly dead atmosphere for wrestling made it very hard to enjoy the matches.

  • It was great to see the other three girls continue to basically stay in character and "continue" the match. I really have so much more respect for what you girls did than I did when the show was on. All of you really did a great job.

My question is this - was there a move/signal/etc that was pre-determined between all the girls to say "Hey - I am really hurt here?"

  • Wildcattersfan: We didn't have a signal, but when a wrestler was really hurt, they pretty much just curled up in a ball. You can't really think or talk at that point, its all just overwhelming pain.

You may have noticed in matches, wrestlers getting into "headlocks". This was our only chance to really communicate with eachother. If a wrestler would forget the sequence of moves, the "headlock" gave us the chance to get back on pace.

Great question, Thanks for the nice comment:)

  • Egypt,

After opening some boxes packed 20 years ago, I found a few recorded VHS tapes of GLOW. What a treat it was to find them. These shows (especially season 2) were campy and fun. I think it is wonderful for you to share your GLOW experiences with us. (I didn't know The Heavy Metal Sisters were also The Housewives) Question: Was "The Princess Of Darkness" really "Vine"? And do you know why Vine left just after season 2 started? I would love to see a reunion show with the GLOW girls today.

  • kissbug1: Yes, the Princess of Darkness was also Vine. Its hard to say what happened to her and I would love to find out. But Vine was there through Season 2. The cast split at the end of the 2nd season and thankfully I was in the middle of my rehab and not getting caught up in all that stress.

I would also love to see the other girls and its one of the reasons why I'm posting.

    Egypt;)

ps Season 1 was filmed in a big convention room and season 2 was a smaller venue. Hope that helps

  • Where's Sakura Hirota when you need her?

  • Egypt is beautiful! I want to kiss her! He is my favourite

  • Egypt? one more question, when the paramedics come in, its usually due to a real injury am I right? also did the heavy metal sisters feel any remorse after the match, you were pretty banged up.

  • Huffnpuff2: Our paramedics were awesome, they were thier for the real injuries but had no problem coming in on the fake calls, it was quit the fun gig for them. Once they had to revive me with smelling salts, which they were really looking forward to doing.:) The Heavy Metal sisters, like all the other wrestlers were sadden by my injury and knew that it could have easily happened to any of them. They were also very careful not to use me on tour even though I was there.

    Egypt

  • its great to ahve a person oin the inside to answer this stuff for us! Glow was and is still hot! just look at the number of hits you still get!!! I just wanted to say that after hearing about all the injuries and such, and rewatching some of the matches again, I can see how you girls would get hurt a lot, even scripted,Many people dont give you guys credit for the show you put on. But one thing? why didnt any of the girls have black eyes or bruises? was make up applied to remove those ?

  • Huffnpuff2: We had a week between matches and over time that would lighten up what ever bruises we got. I don't recall anyone with face bruises, but if it did happen we had a great make up artist on staff.

We all had to deal with bruises as part of the show. I think for me, I was most surprised at how much hair would fall out of my head after a match. Literally handfuls. I rememeber thinking..."this can't be good".

    Egypt

  • hi egypt! I see this video is maybe not from you period in glow but heavy metals sisters were great but poor tara I see this video and the one with u and california doll with cans of garbage and she always get the worst part who decides that, she agree always?

  • Ozuit: I know its hard to believe, but she was willing to do it. Although, I am sure the idea came from the other wrestler.

If she really didn't want to do it she could have taken a stance. But, she was very sweet and open to getting the worst of it.

When your a "jobber" you really don't have much to say. Even if you're on the winning team, you know you're going to end up humiliated. It's just par for the course.

For me, I just tried to go down swinging.;-)

    Egypt

  • egypt the oter 2 girls who stays in glow were hollywood and ninotcka (its true ninotcka's mother make the customs for the show?) anyway tell us a day inside glow they give you the list of matchs and tell you who will winn nd u practice, tell us some stories

  • pkpin: I am not sure, but I think Mt. Figi stayed with GLOW as well. Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

And to the best of my knowledge, I believe that Ninotchka's mom did make our costumes. She did a great job, but several of us had our own "wardrobe malfunction" stories that would have put Janet Jackson to shame.

Soul Patrol struggled with thier straps, Amy used alot of 2-way tape and the first day I appeared in my new top was a complete disaster.

    Egypt

  • No your right Egypt. Mt Fuji did stay with GLOW thru the entire run. And if I am not mistaken so did Amy, the farmers daughter. By the way, I had a HUGE crush on you during GLOW. Bye.

  • egytp i have 3 questions

since you answer in this post you find some glow girls?

tell us something about aunt kitty glow will not be the same without her, I knew she was the real aunt of someone inside the show.

Why more of the girls leaves with david mclane to pow and only 3 remain in glow?

  • Pkpin: I can't remember who Aunt Kitty was related to, but she was great! Very easy to work with and friendly. If anyone knows, please post it.

There were creative differences between McLane and Cimber at the end of season 2. Mt. Figi stayed with Cimber, who were the other 2 girls?

Mclane was very easy to work with and had a great understanding of wrestling and promotion. I am sure each girl had thier reasons, but for me, I liked working for Mclane and it sounded fun.:-)

    Egypt

  • its true that americana left the show because, one glow boss was so much into her?

  • Ozuit: I never knew that. It wouldn't surprise me, she was very pretty. If she did leave because of that, then good for her.

I find out more inside gossip in the "comment sections" on YouTube, then I did being there. I guess I should have paid more attention. lol. :)

    Egypt

  • i finally got the guts to watch the match, its clear that youre not acting and are really hurt. I am curious after an injury like that , and I hear there are many in womans wrestling. What does management tell you about the future of youre career?

  • Huffnpuff2: I am sure it is different for everyone. For me, they waited to see how I felt about getting back in the ring.

With all the time involved in getting a wrestler trained and a character developed, injuries were devastating and it would take a serious injury to motivate a wrestler to stop.

Prior to the knee, I had torn both rotator cuffs and sprained both ankles. I wasn't the only one, look at the feet of some of the barefoot wrestlers, tape usually indicated sprain?

    Egypt

  • hi, egyot don't stop to tells more things about the show is so nice from us to hear them, can you tell us somehting about americana?

  • Mariacoronado83:

I only worked with Americana I think once. I am not sure. But I do remember that she was very nice and professional. She had a great attitude and I thought she was very pretty as well as a good wrestler.

Wish I could give you more information.

    Egypt

  • grazie x la risposta, baci

  • ok, egypt here you ahve the film were tara appears "Cannibal Hookers" (1987) as Stephanie and "Mankillers".

is funny what you say to pretend hate each other teams if you eat together, but when you were on tour or private evrything was, ok, whuch bad girls were you're closer firends, tell us something about amy the farmer douther

  • Mariacoronado83: My favorite bad girls were: Matilda, Heavy Metal Sisters aka Housewives, and Attache. Mostly because I had several matches with them and it gave us a chance to get to know each other better.

Let's see, Amy was awesome. So sweet. I rememeber her first day at practice. Like so many new girls it is over whelming to think your are expected to learn bumps and throws, but Amy had a great attitude. A real go getter. She was very comfortable on her tip toes.

    Egypt

  • hi egypt!!! ma un po lo parli l'italiano? di dove sono i tuoi origini? anyway the funiest were the heavy metal sisters the have to win an oscar for the perfomance!! can you tell us something abouth they? and i have a question about poor tara sothern belle she always was humilliate by the bad girls i rememebr spike make her jump into and aro like a dog who decides that? ...egypt you were a GOOD DANCER!!! and pretty girl

  • pkpin: (part one) Mio padre e italilano e mia madre e turca. My father is second generation Italian American, from a big family in South Jersey. Two of my Uncles are in the New Jersey Hall of Fame for wrestling. I wasn't sure how they were going to react about "my" wrestling. You see, wrestling in New Jersey is very serious business, like football is to Texas. Turns out they thought is was cute and my cousins thought it was AWESOME. GLOW aired on Saturdays on channel "Philly 57".

  • pkpin: (part 2) When I would go back to visit family, my younger cousins would bring their friends over to prove that we were related. I would always get asked the same question.. "Is wrestling fake?"... I would say ... "What do you think?" and if they said it was real, then it was real. Like a flash they would run off, saying.. "See I told you it was real!!..." Kids are just too cute at that age. :-)

Some of my favortie memories are with the kids, they loved the show.

    Egypt

  • pkpin: I have forgotten about the second and third part of your question. I will get to that soon.

    Egypt

  • pkin: (part 3) The Heavy Metal sisters were awesome to work with. They were very funny and down to earth. Didn't they do a great job at getting out of that match?

Later Spike told me that I fell before the head butt, and she didn't know what to do. She was funny about it. She said it was wierd to sell a move that never happened. lol.

As far as who decides how a match was going to go down. Most of it was left up to us. We knew who was going to win ofcourse. cont

  • pkin: (part 4) But the actual match was left up to us. Some wrestlers had specific ideas on what they wanted to do, what moves they liked the most, etc. I am sure we all have certain regrets over how some matches actually came out.

We filmed on Saturdays and at the end of the day, we would be told who we were wrestling the following week. Sometimes we would have 2-3 matches that we had to put together. It all moved very fast.

    Fun but fast

    Egypt

  • egypt can you tell us something about tina ferrari, how she was in person, and tara the sotherne belle she makes 2 films after glow, thnaks egypt

  • mariacoronado83: Tina was a very nice and extremely professional wrestler. I consider it quit an honor that I was able to be in some of her earlier matches before she hit the big time with the WWE. She is truly a legend in female wrestling.

What films did Tara appear in, I would love to find out. That's great information.

    Egypt

  • Most of the GLOW raps were very cute! But I do wonder if you ever thought that you had so many fans around the world? I never noticed if you had a finishing move or a special move though?

  • huffnpuff2: (Part one) I hadn't thought about the show in 20+ years, not until my sister sent me a text message with "OMG!! your on youtube!"

Then I saw that it went into syndication and played in several countries. What a shocker that was.

My mom finally saw my matches for the first time, since she was in Turkey when I was filming. Her only comment to me was.."Why didn't you show those girls a thing on two." Oh, brother.

  • Huffnpuff2 (part two) I would have to say my "finishing" move was slinking out of the ring and my "special" move was trying not to get my neck broken.:-)

But in all honesty, toward the end of the second season I had moved from a running drop kick to a standing drop kick, that I was pretty proud of. I am not sure if it made it to any matches or not. Its hard to remember back that far.

    Thanks for the questions

    Egypt

  • egypt you sound so nice and diplomatic, thanks for the answers and i continue make you question is nice to have somebody who was inside the show and tells things about it.

you know why sally the farmers doughter left at the end of season one, and how wwew shw and hollywood, hollywood admids hat sally and her went to the same high school and they always have a lot of rivality,

  • mariacoronado83: I had no idea there was a rivalry between Sally and Hollywood. Sally was gone when I got there and it was very difficult to get to know the bad girls.

We wouldn't be seen talking to each other in public just incase a fan was around. Even when we ate upstairs at the buffet. (we were given vouchers incase we got hungry) We pretended we hated each other and just snarled back and forth.

The only time to get to know them was at training or at rehearsal.

    Egypt

  • Hi Little Egypt: If you can think of any fun facts about GLOW and the production, I would love to hear about it.

  • Egyptluvr: Here is a fun fact, the short dark haired ref in Season 2 was actually our writer Steve, he wrote our raps and the skits. He was a very funny guy and you could tell he loved his job.:-)

  • hi, egyptofglow, you are vey nice in answer this questions, thw show was great the top caracterisations and the carisma from th girls of season 1 and 2, my question is for 2 wrestlers "jungle woman" and "royal hawaian" they were very pretty, so well her characters and were nice wrestlers why they leave the show Ah and please something about corporal kelly ( the firsth one) kisses

  • Mariacoronado83: I wish I could provide you with more insight to the characters of Royal Hawaian, Jungle Woman and Corporal Kelly, when I came onto the show at the end of Season 1, I really didn't have the opportunity to get to know them.

Lots of girls came and went, sometimes it was injury related, I knew of one wrestler who got prenant, and then some of them just didn't want to do it any more.

Wish I had more details, thanks for the questions.

    Egypt

  • Wow, Little Egypt. Glad to hear you're doing well. I have to admit I had a huge crush on you when I was a kid. I hope that doesn't bother you. BTW, do you know what happened to the girls that played Olympia, Col. Ninotcha and Susie Spirit

  • Kevenem: Ofcourse it doesn't bother me. Glad to hear you like the show. Most of the girls from the show came from California, so I really don't know what happened to them.

Susie Spirit, however, was from Las Vegas, she became an entertainment attorney as is doing very well. She was always very intellegent and her success doesn't surprise me.

    Egypt

  • There's always the element of danger preforming wrestling moves. So sad to see Little Egypt go, you were one of my favorites.:(

By the way, great recovery from the Heavy Metal Sisters and the Doll to finish the match. Looks like the audience had no idea.

  • Egypt,

I'm a big fan of the Fijis, particularly Little Fiji. What was she like to work with and where is she now?

    Thanks

  • omo729: Little Figi was also from Las Vegas, her parents owned a very popular Chinese restaurant here in town. I would frequent it often, it was very good.

As a wrestler, she was very easy to work with, very kind and reliable. We teamed up quit a bit because our sizes were similar.

I wish I knew what happened to her after the show. One of the reasons I am posting comments is to try and help establish those lost relationships. Wish me luck.

    Egypt

  • Thanks for posting another great match of Little Egypt!

  • I never understood the damaged caused to your knee, can you eleborate?

  • Wow, Egyptluvr, 20+ years later and there it is. Thxs for posting this match!

Just before the head butt, keep a close eye on the mat near Spikes left foot. Do you see the separation in the mat?

My right heel catches the slit and immediately tears my ACL ligaments. I went into rehab for weeks just to get the swelling down.

Just as I started to get my range of motion back, POWW was heading on tour, I flew out to catch up with the girls and worked as Palastina's manager.

    Egypt

  • Ouch, that must have been painful for you, Egypt. I must say you were one of my favorites from Season Two and was surprised that you actually made your debut in Season One. I hope you are doing well now.

BTW, I love those sneakers the Heavy Metal Sisters are wearing in the match with their hospital get-up.

Thanks for all the enjoyment you've provided on GLOW.

    Terrance

  • I love Little Egypt! Always was hoping you would do a team up with the Figis and just devistate some bad girls! Glad to see more Glow Gals are posting on youtube now!

  • yngtxtobear: It was definetly in the cards, it would have been fun to win for a change!

    Egypt

  • hey egypt

what was mt fiji and little fiji were they both really samoan?

    was matilda really german?

  • pjwrestlingfan619: I believe Mt Figi was but Little Figi was Asian.

    Egypt

  • was matilda really german?

  • pjwrestlingfan619: I really can't remember, but she was using an accent. Hope that helps.
