Please note that the elephant swaying is a distress reaction to being held captive and not having their biological and behavioral needs met. Please search “elephant stereotypy” and “the captivity industry” to learn more. The elephants will thank you.
i seen videos of this safair and it looks actually pretty good and the animal are happy(everyone can interpret that in many ways) but just because its in Mexico doesnt mean its bad people..
Wow, this is propaganda at its finest. Using situational clips to try to persuade everyone. You've even got people here doing the whole pro-America thing here, saying that this safari is bad because it's not in America. I've been to Africam Zoo many times and never seen this behavior. This one may have been stressed due to temporary confinement from medical issues, behavioral problems, etc. Africam Zoo is one of the best places outside of the wild for animals.
I took my kids to the Dallas Zoo and was not impressed with the small enclosures and the "run down" feel. I actually left sick to my stomach after seeing Jenny. The kids said "Mommy, look a dancing elephant!" and it was because Jenny, too, acts like the elephants above, swaying and not knowing what to do with herself in the small quarters. I felt guilty for paying to take my kids there, like I contributed to them keeping her. I will not be visiting anymore zoos with them. I felt horrible.
Angela: How dare u to publish only the worst pictures u could find on your way to Africam zoo! That's not the whole picture! Show everyone why Africam is the best place for Jenny.
I've been there and it is not like you are trying to prove it to the people.
Stop turning this into a political and racial problem because it is NOT!!!
And this goes to all those who keeps on writing like elephant experts: Stop crying and let the zoos deal with this. They know what's best for Jenny, not YOU!!!
Angela, thank you for doing your research on the park in Mexico and the Sanctuary in Tennessee. Please, please see that Jenny goes to Tennessee. There is no comparison.
i agree, Angela, you rock!!!! i can't believe the dallas zoo is even CONSIDERING sending jenny to this horrible place! everyone please come on sunday and help save jenny!!!!!
Please don't let the Dallas Zoo send Jenny to this park in Mexico. She needs to go a sanctuary in the USA. Attend rally for Jenny @ Dallas Zoo sun july 27 1:00-2:00 pm. Zoo director more worried about saving face than doing what is best for Jenny the elephant.
