You know, these singers had a lot going for them, but I was totally distracted by the fact that one of the Knaben had a shirt on while the other two didn't.

That's because the costume designer was well aware that boy alto's tend to be chubby and that chubby people should always wear shirts.

I hope you're being sarcastic with the last part of that comment. And I would rather see them all attired alike, even if it means changing some designers vision to accommodate reality.

It's probably a last-minute fixing because actually there wasn't a shirt involved and the costume designer didn't even think about the fact that a heavier boy wouldn't want to be topless in front of so many people. But this is hardly the essence of the production, as a matter of fact :)

I remember the name of the 2nd boy - Kai Podack. They are from the Aurelius Saengerknaben. This recording is about 12-15 years old. good singers!
