Pure Berbers are still invisible, they are still marginalised and despised in North Africain societies by mixed Berbers (Arabs/Berbers). For a mixed Berber, a pure Berber is worth for nothing. If you don't know it, there is a very uprooted racism between pure Berbers (black Africains) and mixed Berbers (Arab/Berbers). If you go to those countries, you will not always see pure Berbers because they are withdrawn by the society, the majority of "Berbers" you will see are actually mixed Berbers.

Alot of them say Blacks can't speak Spanish...look at Roberto Clemente, Sammy Sosa, Celia Cruz, etc. Salsa has more of an "African/Black" sound than Hip Hop and Reggae. @diyonisha I am sorry to hear that you have lost faith in God. I didn't lost my faith because i haven't been converted in Europe but in Africa, amongst my people. But living now in Europe i see that as an African, my culture is very important even more important than the religion. Because generally white ppl don't identify themselves with their religion but with their western culture, so why shall we give up our lovely and cheerful african culture? @Luso515PorTuoGraal I have many Arab friends living there,some with Berber, other with Tuareg origins. Anyway, we will all know the real truth one day. The problem with the African continent is that, its history is not told by people of the continent but by foreigners and what they say start to lack credibility and reality. One day will come when the indigeneous are free from discrimination and marginalisation, then will start to tell the truth history of their continent. Just let see and wait.

I know many Berber people, and they don't consider themselves as mediterraneans or Sicilians, they even don't look mediterraneans, except those who are mixed with Arabs. Today there are a lot of Berbers mixed with Arabs, they are the one who are confused with Medeterraneens, but pure Berbers are black, full stop. I have been in Algeria, and mixed Berbers who are Arab/Berbers despise pure Berbers who are pure Africains.

Was Britain and Portugal the firsts to abolish Slavery. On European territory, Portugal was the even the first in 18th century, preciding everybody n west (and in all Empire was the second, following Britain).
Not confuse to some isolated private elegaly actions of some, portuguese or others.

In all Empire(African colonies etc.) Portugal was 2º or 3º (1854) The years for Portuguese Laws are: 1834 (End of Transatlantic Slave trade) 1854(End) Processe Complete(1869).

True Berbers are in the Rif. The People commenting bellow naver were in Morocco or Argelia. And the Berbers are not Arabs nor Near Easterns(as a whole, altough connected with part of ancient Near Easterns and Oriental South-Europeans - in Haplotypes from Pre-historical times) neither have their "phenotipes". They are Berbers, Mediterraneans, aprouch to some Sicilians or others Mediterraneans.

I have never read that Portuguese were the first to abolish slavery, on the contrary I read that after the abolition of slavery many Portugueses were still enslaving African descents illegaly. France was one of the first country to abolish slavery and campaign for slave rights and the integration in the french society.

I just want to point out here that Berbers people were Black and are still black. Pure Berbers are black people and they consider themselves as black africans. Africa is a huge continent and all black people in Africa don't look like the same. Some are very dark, some are light, others are brown with different phenotypes depending on their ethnicities, but they all considered themselves as black africans even if some have a skin colour whick tends to be brownish.

Exaxctly, most Black United Stateans don't know about Blacks in other countries. Alot of them say Blacks can't speak Spanish...look at Roberto Clemente, Sammy Sosa, Celia Cruz, etc. Salsa has more of an "African/Black" sound than Hip Hop and Reggae. The history of Black enslavement is almost always about the United Stateans and Black History Month is almost always about the United Stateans.
