  • Wow, I always thought the version I had was the "country" one...but I guess I think it might be the one she did with Billy Bragg...but I dunno.

If it is him, he sings backup.

  • both the country version and the rock 'n roll uptempo version are great!

  • awww this is LOVELY! Never even knew there WAS a 'Country' version. Thanks for sharing it.

    We still miss Kirsty....

  • I still miss you Kirsty...you were a true star.....and a real talent....xx

  • good call, really sweet song.

  • brilliant kirsty.

  • Class :D

  • Wow! Can You share the name of her country album too? I'd like to order that immediately...

  • Kirsty never recorded a country album, though she did several country-flavoured songs: 'El Paso', 'Please Help Me I'm Falling', 'Other People's Hearts', 'Don't Run Away From Me Now' and 'Don't Come The Cowboy with Me, Sonny Jim'. Check out the From Croydon to Cuba compilation.

  • 'Don't Come The Cowboy with Me, Sonny Jim' was one of the songs Kirsty sang in her musical interludes on 'French and Saunders', though I can't remember if it was in the second or third series.

  • Nice!
