Yep we do have the odd relic - I love them myself. Our depot has recently been the subject of the dreaded "update" so we have lost a lot of the old gems, including a 1984 Leyland, and a couple of 1987 Volvo B10's. We still run a 1993 B10 and the driving school has a few buses from the late 80's, but that's about it. Mind you, this morning I saw a 1979 Leyland Atlantean on a school run (from a local company)!
I work in the Management side. Stagecoach just inherited my family when they brought the business in 1989! My family mopved on but I stayed there! And love booking the drivers!
Yet another sad tale of the big boys coming in and pushing their big blue and red brush all over the smaller, more individual, probably BETTER, companies, then? Of course you love booking drivers, that's your job, Blakey!
Ahh there's not alot of good stuff around these days, i quite often see a 1979 bristol VR about bridgend if I finish early and there's the alisas we get in cardiff.
how's it like working for stagecoach? i'm thinking of applying to them or I may wait another two years and see if cardiff bus are still recruiting
