@spaced377 It took a half minute to register what you just said and I suddenly went " what?! ". Here's hoping... I discovered a new backwards track last night. YT Stone Roses I'm Without Shoes.
When is someone going to release the real Full Fathom Five not that bloody Elephant stone backwards they fob us all off with. A real fan will know what I'm talking about.
@spaced377 Elephant Stone = Full Fathom Five ( vinyl only, I think ), Waterfall = Don't Stop , Where Angels Play ( outro ) = Simone and Made of Stone = Guernica. Wish they did more of these : )
One of the most under-rated songs ever! and it's one of my favourite ever! only if this was as recognizable as 'Waterfall' 'She Bangs the drums' Etc.. This is a fucking immense tune, and deserves as much credit as them 2. Ian brown - Godlike Genius.-- Undeniable Fact.
I find myself listening to lots of U.K. bands these days... I believe it started with Joy Division, then i ended up finding My Bloody Valentine through them somehow and ended up here with Stone Roses. I'm from the states...
@backbeatbobby They were, simply because they're better than all three of those. That and without them Indie would never have happened. They were doing this shit 10/11 years before ANYONE else.
I've only recently heard about this band, but I assume they have been around for years and I'm the only one who had been oblivious to this. I don't know if it's goth, or indie, or what year it's from. It sounds like the Replacements a little. I don't really care to categorize it because it's pretty good music.
@munnikey If you've only just found The Stone Roses, then you've got a lot of amazing stuff to come - this is one of their worst songs (not including the stuff off Garage Flower).
@munnikey essentially it's early indie music. they started to record mid 80s became big i think 89 lasted to around 95. more info on wiki.
so many banging tunes. just check them all out for yourself. one of my favourites is high times, never released but it is floating around the net. if you can't find it, pm me i will send it to you.
I don't mind garage flower, but even ian brown said it was shit, they didn't discover their sound yet.
The 60's pyschedelic, funk sound is just mind blowing. The best band to get stoned to. When they recorded elephant stone, they knew how the wanted to sound. Its just amazing
@munnikey you lucky person!! dam you got some awesome catching up to do! enjoy every minute of it , they actually have not made a poor song , anyone??
Despite what most will say , they did it perfectly , made a small portfolio of heaven sent genius songs , then finished , that is part of the legacy. Also chekout the La's and all of ian browns solo work!!! you will not be disappointed. enjoy
@munnikey ive listened to everything the roses have ever done loved em since spike island ...and i can tell you this is most definitly a roses fav ,the seven inch single back in 90 was a rarity that sold for 100 quid
@yungrippHRK there aint no ''best songs'' mate!! any roses tune's the fuckin bollocks! so yeah the answer to ur question is......any tune any album!! hope this helps!! live forever!!!

@PhuriousStyles they were goths in the early days! ian brown even said so. this song and most of the early stuff from garage flower has a load to thank for the gothic scene around then.

Underrated? They were MASSIVE.

I don't think they are underrated , i think it's just that they never sold out to the main stream media, and that's a good thing.
That is why their music is always so raw and original.
Got mad respect for "The Stone Roses",
these guy's are Buzzin.

How exactly are the Roses under-rated? They're generally regarded as one of the best British bands ever.

dont care wat ya say! der still underated! prob my favourite band!
aaronboi07 2 years ago 2
think the only people who say that they are underated are people who base being rated as being a chart band and just dont know their music background and the influence and high regard they have among proper music lovers....
