@DarthLampe i would imagine thats ass to calves and they would be strict about it. but still you would think that number would be at least a hundred pounds more.
@railroader78 I would think so too. At my high school, they were pretty strict about form, and I could put up about 500 for a max and another of my buddies could too, the rest were around the 450 range.
@DarthLampe I agree I thought it may be higher that said it is an average of all lineman down to redshirts. Not sure this makes sense but, they train to be quick and explosive and lifting for soley for brut strength makes the players too bulky and slows them down.
@bm4nu No, that doesn't make much sense. Bulk muscle isn't very functional, and isn't really trained for outside of bodybuilding. What these guys training regime accomplishes, I can't say for certain, but in all likelihood it's explosive strength, which adds hardly any size.
485? Thats pathetic. I weighed 202 in college and squatted 540.

485 for a set or for a max? I've seen plenty of high school do 485 maxes...

@matzner21 The year the film was shot doesn't really matter, and I've seen plenty of High School lifts that have had very good form.
