The tomb is empty, the fishermen changed, Saul becomes Paul, on thru history. He changed me. Christianity is experiential & evidential if a person is honest. However, what would your criteria be for God to "prove" He exists? If He's God & you're not, shouldn't you be meeting Him on His terms, not Him on yours?

Faith isn’t a virtue. Faith is a con. It is encouraged as a virtue by all religions because all religions have no proof or real evidence their god or gods exist. I know what you mean though, there are things in the bible that raise questions, that, without explanation, seem to be wrong. I've had to think about these many times when I got questions from my (not christian) friends. And while I don't have answers to every question, I still believe, because no matter what you believe in (or don't) you'll never have all the answers, some things you've got to take for granted.

@sotdclark We have a much to lose. If there's an 'indifferent god' then we won't suffer if we don’t accept Christianity. If there's a 'just god' then we have nothing to fear from the honest use of our reason. But if there's an 'unjust god', then we have much to fear. So we might as well go on what reason tells us, that there is no god, because we won't be able to do anything about an unjust or evil god anyway even if we did accept Christianity.

Well a lot of people for good reason are against slavery, bigotry, homophobia, racism, sexism, and extortion just to name a few of the things that are advocated in a bible that Christians promote. 'Evidence' by itself is too general. The flat earth society has what they consider 'evidence', it's demonstrable evidence that can be studied, tested, and repeated which Christians lack.
Once a Christian came to my door and I asked her to provide me evidence for the validity of the Bible, she wanted to tell me about Biblical prophesy as if it that would give it validity and as if it hadn't been debunked.
When you realize this is the only life youre going to get, then you know its a precious life, a beautiful life, and its something that we should live to the full and to the end of our days. Whereas if you are religious and you somehow believe that there's another life, then that means that you dont live this life to the full because you think your going to get another one. That’s an awfully negative way to live a life. Being an atheist allows you to live this life properly, happily and fully.

@NotEnoughLions John 9:22 tells why the scribes didn't write of Jesus. Roman historians Tacitus & Seutonius, as well as Pliny the Younger wrote of Jesus. So did Jewish historian Josephus. The tomb is empty, the fishermen changed, Saul becomes Paul, on thru history. He changed me. Christianity is experiential & evidential if a person is honest. However, what would your criteria be for God to "prove" He exists? If He's God & you're not, shouldn't you be meeting Him on His terms, not Him on yours?

I repeat, though, that it's arrogant for 1 person to presume they know what's real in another persons life. The Bible says there's "nothing new under the sun" Ecc1:9. Christians say "I can't, & I have no answer," but then acknowledge that God has said (Bible), has made a way (Jesus), & is faithful to keep His Word. Jesus told us to tell others. The gift of faith for you will come from God.

I admit I can't do it on my own, nor can any man walk in perfection, so I point the way I've been shown. I'm not perfect here but am being made perfect (sanctified), yet also at the same time I have a deposit in Christ in the heavenlies where He's seated at the Father's right hand. Jesus promised to finish the work He started in me.

In fact we can do it better because we can develop our own wisdom and not be held back by outdated scriptures written by people with unscrupulous motivations. Example: The bible approves of slavery.

Faith isn’t a virtue. Faith is a con. It is encouraged as a virtue by all religions because all religions have no proof or real evidence their god or gods exist. We don’t tell our children faith is a virtue in any other field of endeavor because it leaves them wide open to fraud. What does that tell you? Religions ask for special privileges because without them they don’t exist. Calling faith a virtue is actually a hideous trick.

If you are, or do marry, that your wife will honor her covenant with you, that the food you eat is not poison... Try not to get lost in the word and look at the meaning. You base your "faith" on what you consider acceptable fact. I do the same thing. We differ on what we consider acceptable fact. We both get to choose for ourselves. I trust Jesus.

@NotEnoughLions I have read the Bible (or most of it), and I am still a christian. I know what you mean though, there are things in the bible that raise questions, that, without explanation, seem to be wrong. I've had to think about these many times when I got questions from my (not christian) friends. And while I don't have answers to every question, I still believe, because no matter what you believe in (or don't) you'll never have all the answers, some things you've got to take for granted.

If there's a 'just god' then we have nothing to fear from the honest use of our reason. But if there's an 'unjust god', then we have much to fear. So we might as well go on what reason tells us, that there is no god, because we won't be able to do anything about an unjust or evil god anyway even if we did accept Christianity.

As far as the majestic animals, such as the tiger and lion, why not show them ripping up some poor buffalo or zebra screaming in pain? Awesome God indeed, not for that poor zebra he aint.

People who believe a god exists are just experiencing a delusion and that isn’t a reason to hate them. Atheists are not here because they hate god. God can be pleased. He is pleased when we follow the 12 simple rules he gave, when we hold fast when under scrutiny, when we praise and worship. But we can also anger him.
My evidence? I look around and find it impossible this was all chance. You can be a Doubting Thomas, where seeing is believing. We Christians chose to believe without seeing; we have Faith in our God. He is both a hard God and benevolent God. You all may demand proof, but you will only refute it with science.

'Evidence' by itself is too general. The flat earth society has what they consider 'evidence', it's demonstrable evidence that can be studied, tested, and repeated which Christians lack.
Once a Christian came to my door and I asked her to provide me evidence for the validity of the Bible, she wanted to tell me about Biblical prophesy as if it that would give it validity and as if it hadn't been debunked.

When you realize this is the only life youre going to get, then you know its a precious life, a beautiful life, and its something that we should live to the full and to the end of our days. Whereas if you are religious and you somehow believe that there's another life, then that means that you dont live this life to the full because you think your going to get another one. That’s an awfully negative way to live a life. Being an atheist allows you to live this life properly, happily and fully.

Almost without exception all cultures included human sacrifice because it impresses people more than anything else. It is an horrific and wicked idea that a creator would only be satisfied by the slaying of a living being. Christianity is no better than any ignorant blood thirsty cult. The bible contains nothing to show it was written by an authority. It's ignorant about the causes of disease, mental illness. electricity and our place in the universe to name a few.
