I remember 1972 I was in the south of France around aix-en provence( I think thats how its spelled) and was told bill wyman had a house around there , tried to find it to no avail its like yeah I'm just gonna stop in and have a few beers right. Was fun trying , hit monte carlo, and every city working my way to spain. what a summer! Rolling Stones does not get any better
For me the best Stones songs and arrangements were never the hits. I rest my case with Torn and Frayed. It's such a pity they have subsequentely become a cabaret act - maybe they should 'do' Vegas if they ever do another tour! Thanks for the memories of the Stones at the top of their game ( and of my youth)
@nomadtraveller100 indeed, you should also take a look at CandyFr0mStranger's video titled 'Keith Richards.' in a little over 5 minutes, it reveals the quintessential public/mythic image of Mr. Richards by a creatively designed and skillfully made photo montage. it's aesthetically flawless. to put it another way, i felt i learned as much about Mr. Richards by watching Candy from Stranger's video as i did from reading the very informative and enjoyable autobiography, 'Life', by Mr. Richards.
Nice video! There's a good documentary film about this album, too. If you had a time-machine, you should want to go back to 1971 and crash this soiree/landmark album on the riviera....
My God this video should be put on an accompanying dvd with the album.
it is SO IMPORTANT I think to have the idea of them in paris and making this album while listening to it and your video really does it all, it is beautiful (tear*)
My favorite Rolling Stones song, since I started listening to them seriously in the early '80s and up through today. I thought the video was really good, even though I didn't know a lot of the insight behind it. Thanks for posting.
cgraber? cum grab my cock you fuckin faggot, this video was almost as gay as your faggot ass. let me find your sister in the street. i swear to god ill sodomize her before i take her life
@123123321503 Why are there still people like you left around? You really think it's okay to talk like that? You actually think this way? Don't watch the news and blame this leader or that for making the world a lousy place. You're doing that all by yourself.
@123123321503 This video was fantastic you stupid dumb fuck, to see this video show the paryted out faces of the stones and keiths soul brother Gram Parsons is so freaking awesome...now go fuck off some other place some other time...fucking dickheads I can't stand people like you...all talk.. lmao your a fool but a compleat fool
did you know that the foo fighters last 3 albums were written about what i have discovered? dont believe me? i have proof. go to "the real thing russell morris" uploaded by zatopecara and press "see all" to find my 3 recently posted comments to find out why. my callsign is figbat1. i am not lying. honest. regards.
The rolling stones are talented. You are not. This video was distracting from the music playing. Stick to an Exile on Main St. cove and then promptly go fuck yourself.
Excellent work on My favourite Exile track! except that makes me feel like to Tune in, Turn on, Drop out ( and I can be a wild one) I could listen to this forever
wow. i just got off the plane and was feelin a little lagged and i needed some stones. i just had no idea this fantastic video would come with it. rejuvenated. thank you
Truly one of the most unique, original videos out there. I liked your first, slightly different version as well. Great job on both, a great "feel of the moment" to it.
Songs, and videos this Great confirms one thing. Justin Briber needs to do the world a favour and wash his mouth out with buckshot. This would create more room on the airwaves for The Stones that have more unheard gems than that little shit Briber will ever have hits in his pathetic life.
This was amazing, you have achieved something very special. I completely enjoyed watching this and you clearly know your history from the pictures and placements of certain images. Great job, this is ART
Brilliant video. Love all the pics of Keith and poor Gram. Can't help but thinking of either of them as possibly the wandering guitar player that Mick's singing about in the song.
Also reading Keith`s "Life" , and, wanting to know more on Nellcote - see and feel what the place was like I stumbled upon this video.... Perfect ! many thanks for your hard work well done. When I win the lotto , think I will put in an offer on the old shack haha ;-)
So I'm reading "Life" by Keef and he's talking about Nellcote and "Torn and Frayed" an so I stumble on this little gem. Cool. Thank you. Sounds and looks great.
Love this song. Love this video...........Read Tony Sanchez book "Up and Down with the Rolling Stones" if you want to get a "feel" for Nellcote. I realize Tony was a drug dealer and prone to overstatement but it is still the best book on the Rolling Stones I've ever read. Some of the descriptions of Keith playing the pirate out in the boat with Anita, getting bags of China White smack, and the general "goings on" are hilarious. There is some revealing stuff in that book about the "real" stones.
I keep coming back to your video everytime I log in. Its just beautiful man. You have perfectly captured the melancholy sadness and the wandering vagabond nature of this song and the feel of the Exile album at large. Well done sir.
I just spoke to my Mom and showed her this. She had no idea that she was staying next to where the Stones made their greatest work at when she stayed down at Ville Franche Sur de Mer 2 years ago. Not a clue. If I had been there I would have gone over to look at Nellcote.
Awesome video. I think the 'Stones would be pleased. One of the greatest albums the 'Stones ever created. I love the Mick Taylor years with the group. They had a great run of albums. They took everything from the Brian Jones years, and coupled it too another great talent. Taylor does not receive enough credit for being in the band. Hope they kept a pot seed from the plant they were smoking when they made this album. So many people do not realize the greatness of the 'Stones outside the norm.
@germanpanther1 Well said. I'll bet Keith would (and maybe has) enjoy this video. I saw Mick Taylor in Hampton, Va. probably 10 yrs. ago (hard to remember sometimes) on a Tuesday night. A little back patio, there he was, playing to about 10 people at best, with his little band. He still had long hair somewhat, hiding behind it, 30 lbs. overweight. He could still play though he didn't do hardly any Stones. Not the liveliest of fellows. But Keith, for what ever reason, didn't 'click' with Taylor.
I use this video at the beginning of class. The kids love it! They ain't tied down to no home-town - and have a hell of a lot to learn from us older generations. They have a hell of a lot to teach us too. They steal our hearts away!
Wow Candy Im gonna echo dugi's comments, its very rare that a fans video enhances the song but your work does that and then some, you have obviously put a lot of work and effort into this and it truly is worthy of the brilliance of the song, congratulations and thank you, 5 stars
thanks for coming back stranger. your vid and tune were sorely missed while you were away. one of these days maybe the greedheads will wake and realize that you help them much more than their nickel and dime minds could ever understand. thanks again for your outstanding work and your perseverance. it's great to hear the song for the 183,372nd time and get to watch your vid with it.

beautiful place villefranche-sur-mer i drove to it from milan & a taxi driver took us to see it as we couldn't find it , shame i left my camera in his cab. nellcote is beautiful
Reminds me of when I was growing up and living in Lisbon Portugal and Istanbul Turkey during the late 60's / early 70's. -----Anita sure was good looking when she was young.
