Yeah it's an awesome song, wicked fun to drum to. The hi-hats I used in this vid,

were just some cheapish one's I bought from my local(ish) drum shop. Ive since sold this kit and most of the cymbals, and bought a Mapex M Birch Fusion/Rock sized kit.

I also bought some Zildjian 13" ZHT Mastersound hats, which sound awesome, and are very similar to the sound of the ones in this vid, only better!

2 crappy mics - mic mixer

MD recorder - 4 drum track

CD player - to play along to

Camera audio - for guide track

PC - line up audio after.

Trying to do as many beats as fast as you can as much as you can is a true sign of bad drumming. Try playing with the song not against it.

He's saying to raise it up because he's hunched over and having the hi-hat a little higher would help him straighten his back out. You're supposed to be pretty straight backed when you're drumming...otherwise you do get back problems.

you definitely are a metal drummer. it's different to hear this approach to carter's playing. not sure if i like it...but you can definitely play. i'm hoping it was not your attempt to play like carter...but to just jam on ants and use it to show your personal skills...even if they are very metal influenced.
