  • wait... do i tie off and cut under my tie off or tie off and cut above my tie off? shouldn't matter, what could possibly go wrong anyways?

  • I wanted to be a lumberjack...leaping from tree to tree as they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia. The redwood, the larch, the mighty scots pine. I'd sing, sing, sing....

    I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK

I sleep all night and I work all day

  • @hardmarine stfu faggot

  • looks like a fun ride :D

  • I bet he shit all over himself!!!!

  • Fail haha

  • Lumber jack? Lumber jack? I didn't see any jacks.

  • and thats why these guys get paid a thousand bucks a day.

  • Bwahahaaaaaaaa. owned!

  • okay i know it is bad but watch his legs isn't it funny

  • wow! that guy was sooo lucky he didnt get himself killed!

  • Tried logging WAY back when. After one week I saw a guy get two fingers smashed and another guy had a nasty fall. One week was plenty for me!

  • hats what you get Leave the tree alone lol

  • and how is he a dumbass?? who ever posted that title, if ur were in his situation trust me you would have fell...

  • awesome

  • IT CAN HAPPEN NO MATTER HOW GOOD YOU ARE, IF YOU'RE A PROFESSIONAL YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT.

I BEEN CLIMBIMG TREES FOR 14 YEARS WHITH NO ACCIDENTS BUT I KNOW IT HAPPENS.

NO BODY DESERVE AN ACCIDENT. MAYBE SOME DAY YOUR KID BECOME A CLIMBER

  • Well i dunno about you lot but i laughed :P haha

  • he's like "FUFUFUFUFUFUFUFUFU!!!!!"

  • @grineti5 "....FUUCK!!!"

  • why is everybody on here a lumber jack

  • lol

  • I have been doing tree work for 24 years.I believe the guy running the ropes should of stopped the rope just below the climbers feet, that would of cut down on the swing of the remainder of the tree.you always get bounced around a little bit when doing that type of proceedure. Also if the climber was tied in with his life line along with his buck strap on he probably would not of been flung around so much.hope his was not injured to bad.

  • He's not a lumber jack, or a dumb ass. He's a professional residential tree guy. He's probably a certified arborist, and he may very well own the business. When things go smoothly, the top is lowered to the ground without stopping suddenly. When it stops suddenly, it causes what is known as dynamic loading. Which happens to everyone eventually. Please pull your head out before titling another video that you know nothing about.

  • ppl are dicks this guy tied off his limb and it , it came back with to much speed because the dumb ass on the ground dident let enough rope out so it came back and hit the tree if any one is the dumb ass its the guy on the ground

  • poor man

  • im sorry but just me.. i think it was both faults.. if you have a greenhorn groundman running a friction device then you should allow for that by dropping a smaller load.. dropping a heavy load can scare the shit out of the new guy and cause him to lock it up too quick especially if right above a new home or something.. props for the climber preparing for the shake tho.. which tells me probably a newbe running the portawrap or whatever they're using.. glad u lived and hopefully learned man

  • anyone blaming the groundie is a bullshiting fuckwit. climb higher ,cut less weight ,no problem .dont be scared to go higher.

  • @suffo222 the ground crew didnt let it run,, you have no clue.... climb higher?? dude had at least 60 feet of working room..obviously your not a arborist..pipe down

  • just wrap it once and let it ride...problem avoided get a better ground crew thats a tiny tree for that to be happening

  • i think he knew that was going to happen he snapped that saw on his belt fast as hell

  • 8 people are lumberjacks

  • This guy in fact did everything right , he tied himself on , tied the tree on, turned his saw off and put it by his side and also spread his feet as he swung because he had spiked boots to help him climb. The only thing he was marked down for was not having his hat secured.

  • 8 people didnt like this video!!

  • Omg lol

  • i have been climbing over 20 years, that has never happened to me. Close but not shaken out of control like that

  • @singapore7773 Exactly!!! I have only been climbing for seven years and i have never been whipped around that bad!!! Like i said before perhaps he should get a better ground crew!!!

  • Shit happens man. It's happened to me.

  • looked like what would happen in a cartoon XD

  • To be fair, if that happens to you every day, then you're an utter fool.

cracked ribs? well done, maybe you should learn how to do your job properly.

It can be helped, it's just a matter of using your brain, and not dropping a tonne of timber onto a standing stem that you're anchored to.

Anybody who thinks this is the groundsmans fault is lacking a brain cell or two. Did the groundie tie it in? or decide to lop the top out of it from there? No.

  • @custardtriumph i agree. take less weight by climbing a few more steps. You have to know what the cut piece is going to do.

  • WAS HE OK

  • DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Change the title to "Groundman's credo: Everything except what needs to be done".

  • AAAHAHAHAHAHHA

  • is this fake or real????

  • lol shit

  • poor chainsaw :(

  • @n00bPwner1233 i think that chain saw was like an egg when it it the ground.

  • lol what an idiot just like deckyquinn

  • Did I hear the ground man calling out "Sorry"

  • @labrat7357 hmm. That's what I heard as well.

  • 1st thing: drop the saw. even better if thats tied too.

  • If you look closely, he IS getting ready for this to happen.

  • he should of just spiked up an pieced it down .also to bigger bit to snatch maybe a lil bit smaller an would of went sweet but groundy fuked up to.

  • @Alldayyyyyyyyyyy thats what i say.I alwys top it out smaller unless I have to take it big. He;s got some kahoonas.

  • Its Pete from salisbury Cutting lol

  • wouldnt it be funny if the bottom of the tree fell and the top stayed in the air?

  • wheea!

  • I think the guy on the ground said "Sorry!"

  • @SirFelix377 he did ... he lower it to fast .....

  • a hat saftey line fuck me just tie back onto his skinning rope

  • ur all stupid, the reason they do that is so that it wont hit the houses, they lower it after it has been cut.

  • hahahahahahah FUCKING RETARD!!!!

  • was this guy wearing a sign before he told you to record him?

  • what did he say before he crash into the tree?

  • He tragicly lost his hat, this could have been avoided with a hat safety line attached to his belt.

  • Stihl 019T. piece of crap.

  • i climb trees and that was all the groundmans fault he should have let stop slowly instead of fast like he did thats what made it do that if the man on the rope did his job that wouldnt have happend

  • TIMBEEEEEEERRR!!!

  • haha wow thats what a flatlander would do!!! dip shit

  • from Ireland actualy.check the chanell

  • looks to me they had to control the fall of that crown, probably due to obstacles below and the groundsman let the 'top' fall to a point below the cutter before it was arrested...it jerked around more than he was expecting and his hold position wasnt sturdy enough...this sometimes happens...he's safe because of the correct kit hes got on up there...doesnt fall , and lives to learn another day...its just this job....

  • if i was him i would faint from being scared

  • HAHAHAHAHA!

  • Damn...could give me that top handle Stihl before he dropped it 50 feet!

  • lol bags

  • hahahahaha, this musta been Austrailia

  • He is not a lumberjack dumbass. He is a "LumberjackAss" lol

  • i think someone yells "sorry" when he is doing his dance up there.

  • if that top was properly lowered, the climber would of not went for a ride. not the climbers fault

  • Your exactly correct, the ground man was a dumb ass and didn't run the friction device properly, but on the other hand the climber is not the brightest either, going up there with no hard hat.

  • thanks man at least somebody sees that. yea hard hats are much safer in trees

  • agreed, you try to explain the process to people but they don't get it. His ground crew fucked up but just as added insight, that top was pretty big and no matter what the experience of the group crew was going to be a tough one. But... they fucked up.

  • true, the funny thing is i did 1 just like that the other day and it threw me around....go figure lol i was scared shit

  • Comment removed

  • @TheRocketguy27 unless there was something below that was in the way like a house a deck below or pool.... the ground man should of let it down with ease not ten feet then hold on tight....just 11 years of experience lowering for lots and lots of different climbers in my day. im a climber as well now so i know the feeling though its scary but a good rush to be shaked like that haha .... whatever man

  • @TheRocketguy27 r u looking at the same thing im looking at? That branch jumped down many many feet. Either it got caught on the false croch or the groundguy held on tight.

  • @lumberjak1984 true

  • @lumberjak1984 Exactly Jack. Problem is with the groundie not the climber.

  • @Th3rd3y3vision both in my opinion. He took to much weight, but his groundman did him no favors

  • @lumberjak1984 What do you mean, if the top was properly lowered? Shouldnt the climber have lowered it properly??Which would make it his fault.....Just askin...I dont know lumberjack shit :P

  • @cracklytoes If the top was properly lowered, the climber wouldn't of felt the jolt. It's the ground mans doing

  • @cracklytoes The climber doesn't lower. The groundman does

  • @lumberjak1984 lol the ground dude yelled sorry! how many wraps you reckon ground dude had?

  • @xombeecao hard ta tell. 2-3 wraps will hold anything

  • @lumberjak1984 didnt look like they hardly needed 1 full there lol

  • That was NOT a trained feller. If that had been a USFS cutter or a Hot Shot crew, he would never have been allowed up without proper safety equipment or training. Good grief, at least this clown was tied in as well as he tied the top in.

  • JAJAJAJAJA THAS SO FUNNY

  • he was prepared at 0:07 lol

  • LOL

  • this happens to me nearly every day, it can't be helped, there was a guy on the ground running the rope through a friction device so he can lower a branch that weighs close to a tonne on his own, the only problem is being able to let it down gently....... hence all the swing, all you can do is brace and ride it out... i've had cracked ribs and black eyes.... that's why we get paid so well

  • Rock on, dude! I'm sending you a military helicopter.

  • why cant it just free fall to the ground??

  • maybe he tied him self to it?!?!?

  • @mikkianddeclan how much?

  • @mikkianddeclan Being a carpenter Although not a tree surgeon im quite sure a branch of that size weighs about 100 kilos! not a tonne

  • @mikkianddeclan You don't get paid enough!

  • @mikkianddeclan haha, if this happens to you everyday your a bloody spastic, the reason it shook him up is that the dumbass on the ground had too many wraps on the lowering device, either you need to get a new groundy or a new job, i'd suggest the latter.

  • @mikkianddeclan if you climb up a little more, you can take much smaller pieces and save your ribs.

there is only one question in tree work. "can i control the weight." This guy or ground man didnt control the weight.

  • @mikkianddeclan I'm a climber and i have never been on a ride like that!!! A whole lot of swaying but i have never been kicked around that bad!!! Perhaps you should get a better ground crew!!!

  • @mikkianddeclan I agree that it happens sometimes. I spent 20 years performing large tree removals residentially. No cracked ribs or black eyes. If this happens to you every day, you need to learn how to use the friction device correctly, and teach your ground crew. Every once in a great while is enough for this kind of thing to happen.

  • omfg!

  • the section topped off is on a cable hoist

to lower down if you look closely. they cant just let it fall with homes and property below but I dont think he was pepared for such a jolt

  • I dont know shit about tree lopping but he seemed fairly switched on. He worked really fast to turn the saw off and the clip it to his belt. Then he hung on for dear life and was saved by his harness,. Good job

  • hilarious

hes like: Oh my god! xD

  • man i would of had a heart attack if that was me

  • damm, its funny now but if iwas watching that happen to the man, my heart would be pounding as hellz!

  • lisen at (12:00) hahahaha

  • FAIL!!!! hahahaha that was funny as hell

  • wow he's smart -_-

  • ahahaha that's 1 lumberjackass

  • Hay que ser imprudente

  • I don't see how any act of his could have made the cutter out to be a dumb ass. Between the stump whip and sharps banging around this could have been a widow maker. Count boobs for IQ.

  • Groundhand's fault. Stuff happens.

  • Just a mistake that's all.

  • go to the top then cut it in small pieces and then lower them

  • Hang on buddy!

  • Who ever titled this is the dumb ass. He is a residential climber. Probably the owner of the business. He did everything perfectly from his end. The error was made on the falling end of the work line. When lowering dynamic loads, there is a friction device which the ground man uses to bring the top down with out jerking the tree. When you do this five days a week, shit happens. Looks like a good arborist to me. Not a lumber jack and not a dumb ass.

  • Look the german translation for "bite the hand that feeds you" ... unbelievable!

  • Man that's some stupid fool. Why would he tie the tree to the stub he's on??

He should just have let it fall.

He was almost subject to a darwin-award. :P

  • Obviously you have no idea what your talking about when it comes to tree work. Letting it come free falling down can cause damage to the property your working on, or even a nearby house. Lowering it slowly is the best way. I agree with all the other tree guys here, definetly the ground guys fault.....

  • To be fair, not many of the people on here are going to understand tree work ;-)

  • i second that

  • ground crews fault shoulda let the section go slower and not lock up the pulley system after it drops 10 feet

  • lmao 0:12 sorry lol

  • yup anyone with treework experience knows thats a dumbass groundman mistake. He should have let it run a gently slowed it down. As for the one handed saw handling. Yea your no supposed to but sometimes you have to and it all good as long as you keep focused. The next block off Id try to hit the groundman with then scream sorry.

  • hahahahhahhah that does not look fun

  • Lol is this what they do for revgne on the envirment?

  • someone needs new ground guys

  • Climber did nothing wrong

  • I remeber this 'huh' from that video with the alien ship that passes by and that girl gasps.

  • hahahaha idiotos

  • groundcrews fault, they are supposed to let the tree run, not stop it dead after it falls ten feet, of course it will cause the tree to sway violently, so all you dumb fuks calling the climber a rookie, should try it yourself some time, and see how you fare.

  • LOL

  • HAHA at the end someone yells "Sorry!!"

  • Loooool :D

  • haha

  • That video shows a standard felling procedure - and its definately NOT the climber who fails but his groundmen.

    google for port-a-wrap !

  • You really shouldn't be drunk or high when doing that job!!! It's obvious!!

  • He wasnt doing anything wrong that was the ground crews fault listen closely at the end you hear the crew yell SORRY!

  • is seen this on a tv show but i dont remember which 1 but the guy had the rope tied to the top of the tree above where he cut it

  • yes he is not a pro lumberjack, never just grab the saw with one hand during cutting..

  • congratulations for that

  • lol the dumb ass had a second line attached to the top part of the tree aswell lol

  • GASP!

  • i expected that he would saw the trunk under his feet XD

  • Dumfuck! Stupid sh*t like that is how poeple get killed. Don't try this unless you are a pro.

  • he is still a idiot..... ok next....

  • To all those who think this climber is a idiot... you are wrong. His ground crew is a idiot. They were supposed to let it "run" or Basically slow it down as it comes down. Instead they totally stopped it cause the weight of the top to shake the tree violently. Notice how you hear "sorry" at the end of the clip. That was the ground guy on the ropes who screwed up.

  • It would have been much funnier if the climber had fallen to his death...

  • agreed 100%

  • Agreed.....not many people understand what is actually happening in this video....you can tell he's ready for a ride though cause he quickly secures his saw after finishing his cut. YE HAW

  • lol

  • how much wood would a woodchuck chop if a woodchuck could chop wood?

  • A woodchuck chop wood cause a woodchuck cant chop wood.

  • no, 17!

  • I nearly pissed my pants there! That was so funny!!

  • me 2 !

    xDDD

    i laughed about 15 min

    its so fuckin hillarious! xD

  • It's call tree topping. when you can't just "fell" a tree because it could hit something below it, or just need to use the trunk for other purposes, that is what you have to do. My grandfather was a logger, he said it is a fun ride.

  • lol it's not like you can see the top part of the tree TIED to the area BELOW where he was cutting. lol some people are stupid huh?

  • you can actualy hear him say MOMMY!!!

  • I wouldve drained my pants so much the weight of the wetness wouldve made me fall.

  • FOR SALE: one pair heavily soiled lumberjack pants

  • I got a pair like that but they were shit

  • ouch, that's brutal.

  • hows he a dumbass for doing that?

  • That woulda been one hella ride I tell ya..

  • wow I guess many people dont know shit about tree removal. Ok let me explain.

    1. He is topping a tree for a reason.

    2. He got the rope tied to the top, has the rope in a pulley, and has some equipment to hold the rope and slowly release it.

    3. The thing that he dropped was his chainsaw, it is connected to him through a rope.

    4. This is no accident, its how you top a tree with limited amount of room.

  • what if he died? would that have been an accident? why did his chainsaw not stop falling?
