  • I drive kids to school in a 2005 International IC300 it is a sweet ride. It handles like a dream in the frigging snow and god knows Massena NY get's enough snow

  • Where's my pizza rolls?

  • My family converted one of these to live in, and I grew up in one of these. (Except it was manual with a road ranger transmission.)

    Ward body.

  • The six-speed Allison automatic used here is the old MT30 for the engine is gasoline. Otherwise, if the engine were a diesel the transmission would be either a model MT31 (light duty) or MT41 (mid-range). The MT30 and MT31 were replaced by the AT540 for 1970, while the MT40 and MT41 soldiered on until 1973, when they were replaced by the MT640 and MT650 (later MT643 and MT653DR).

  • dove posso trovare la canzone ??????

  • I forgot that the '69 Loadstar Ward had those type of rims also, I also remember riding either a '68 or '69 Ward bus on a Ford B700 chassis in Maryland sometimes, It had the sloped roof at both ends, I think it had the 390 big block, I remember it had a standard 4 speed transmission, It migh've been a 4 and 2, I don't remember, I also remember riding a '69 or '70 GMC Ward bus in 5th grade here in Oregon, It had the 366 engine and also a 4 and 2 tranny, It was used as a substitute bus,

  • I hope u get it running again. u seem to get great deals on these busses. If u don,t mind me asking how much did the 69 cost? also i hope u get the coolant problem fixed on the 80 international solved and keep up the great videos.

  • Thanks for watching my videos....I know I will get it going again. This one was $280.

  • that bus has seen better days

  • I remember riding a very old sub bus back in the 80s, All I remember was it was all green inside, and the switchboard for the lights and things was all metal toggle switches... and for some reason I remember it being on the right side... and I remember someone was in the bus helping the driver figure out the old controls... it was very strange, only saw it once.

  • I wonder if it was a forward control type bus with the engine up under a hump and a flat front? Bluebird maybe? I don't know If I have seen any conventional older buses with the switch panel on the right side.

  • It's a very old memory from 1985-86 so it's very vaugue but I was watching a video just now of a 1980 International conversion bus and I remember those round vents on the dash... so maybe that was it.. and it might have been flat front, I want to say I remember not wanting to get on it because it was different looking and "Not my bus" but I'm not 100% sure.. I don't want to make something up and corrupt that very old memory lol

  • How does the hydraulic retarder work? I have never seen one.

  • I'm not sure if it is working properly...but I think it should work with the automatic transmission, maybe reversing the flow of the fluid to add resistance to the drive line to help slow it down.

  • I didn't know that made auto trans school buses back then. Every one I rode on till the early 90's was a manual.

  • Any chace of getting a cold start video of this one? :)

  • While I prefer manauls, evne the OLD school, SHIFTER activiated Allison (and Spicer) automatics had character (a comment you'[ll hear a lot about regaridng these older vehicles!) This is the HT70 (see shift pattern below.)

  • It's a HT-70 transmssion,

    ....and the gear positions are:

    1-2

    3-4

    3-5

    3-6

    N

    R

  • Actually, for a bus of this size the transmission would be an MT-41.

  • whats the hydrolic retarder?

and what does the 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6 mean?

and I also didnt see a button to set off the 8 WAY light system. Interesting

  • The different gear ranges tell the highest gear the transmission will shift into. I think in the 5-6 position it starts out in 2nd or 3rd and then shifts up through to 6....1-2 will start it out in 1 and go at most to 2nd gear. The retarder pedal will help to slow it down like if you're going down a hill. The warning light switch is on the control panel but I haven't got it to work yet.

  • what ever broke that poor fan was something

    major

  • Looks Like a Allison MT-643 or Something.

  • I remember Dad telling me one time he was riding home from school on the bus and a mounting brace on the steering column broke. That could have really hurt to put it mildly.
