You know what sucks? I played Ace Combat 5's demo that came with a PS2 holiday jampack, and the wingmen were much more aggressive fliers. They also were able to stay on my wing while I pull off aileron and barrel rolls. Why the fuck did Namco change it? No freakin' clue, but it shows you that team potential always existed, they simply refused it for some reason. I'm not a fan of the 'one man army' setup. I'd prefer it if my wingmen actually could fight worth a damn.
I agree, Ace Combat 5 wingmen actually tried to shoot down more than one per battle. Not played zero much, but in 6 wingmen were a big help, i got shot down on one level because my wingman decided to just fly in circles rather than clear my 6.
@Raijin1999 Glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed the company of the Wardog wingmen. Those guys are actually incredibly useful at both offense and defense. I admit that I've actually lost a good number of kills simply because those guys are really quick on the trigger.
It also gets pretty lonely when flying solo so yeah, I'm also one of those guys that don't enjoy the "one man army" gig. That's probably the only reason why I'm a bit more favorable to AC5 than 4.
what is "Mercenary Ace style"? i don't have a clue and on a guide website it says to unlock the eurofighter i have to beat the rot squadron in this ace style, i don't have a clue how to do it, could anyone help me lol?
Your style changes depending on what you kill in-game. Killing yellow (defenseless) targets puts you closer to Mercenary, while leaving them alive puts you closer to the Knight style. Killing some yellow targets, but not all, puts you in between as a Soldier style.
i only really use the morgan on air to ground missions cos his big explodie thingie takes out the entire map on one of the battles :) and when im flying, i do prefer to use the f 15 and f 16 as said below :) only cos when ur the f15 and pixy or f16 and pj, the replays look sex :D
If it is a girl, which I hope. There aren't that many really impressive Ace Combat pilots who are female. Going into Mayhem with a Hornet is pretty cool. I hope this is a girl. She's not a bad pilot.

strangely I prefer the SU-37 over the Berkut. It feels more nimble, while the Berkut feels some what heavier. On top of that I like the looks from SU-37 better.
same here, in dispensable plane in the first playthrough. The F-15S MTD is very similar, but it comes with FAEB's as standard. And for some reason I like it a bit more than the Terminator. It feels more sophisticated.
The EA-18G is preety useless 4 me cuz it just jams the enemy's radar but its useless 4 me on this game...its very usefull in AC5 especially if u use 1 wingman 2 use tht plane....

It's called a "TV Tuner Card" - it's for PC's. It allows you to connect video devices (PS2, VCR, DVD, etc) into your computer and play the footage with a program that works with the card. Most have a record feature - this is the result. It's not the best quality though, as you can see it's blurred.

Yeah...you did take your time a bit there with each enemy. And if you're going for realism you may as well use the cockpit view. It looks cooler and I find it's generally easier than the HUD view. Although I usually use the third person view.
But having said all that, there aren't many, if any, wasted missiles in this movie. So that's good.
Perhaps, though to me, the Wii is all shits and giggles. They've also said the graphical power isn't going to be near the PS3/360 because their aim was the games (gameplay I guess). So yeah, they save money that way, and continue making games of series off the GC. Smart, but if you require teh uber console, PS3's my choice.
Yeah 600 seems like too much. Though in reality the console itself, and its specialized hardware, is well worth over 1,200USD. We're actually getting a bargain, and Sony looses money. Once they streamline production they'll begin to recoop that, but all through the first year they'll be loosing yen up the wazoo. Gotta love 'em for that. Gung-ho or nothing.

ABing DOES end up getting you in front of them.... and it ends up in a good kill with XMAA.. just realized that.
A good example of this with the XMAA is in the last mission of Ace Combat 05 With an aircraft with XMAA, keep going straight to the drop point, and when Onfir/Grabacr show up, just keep going ahead, and put on your XMAA, when they're about 500 ft away, launch em.... there goes four easy targets.
Forgot: on 1 on 1 battles, i'd prefer the QAAM's. Mainly because their speed isn't so laggy. When you AB and use the XMAAs, you end up in front of them. XD
I use the radar most of the time, but if a target of opportunity gets in my sights I probably would take it out to save time.
Rofl. Too true. But my playstyle, knight by nature aside, it to go in fast. AB'ing all the way, as in the Excalibur vid. From my standpoint, the XMAA's suit me best. On the mission where the nuke warps your hud I use them like mad, nailing everybody. I'll upload that tomorrow.
Anyways, the radar is VERY useful to get your targets in your sights if you're searching for them.... like i end up going in circles (Lol... :D)
As for XMAA or QAAM, it depends.... XMAA is damn good for open situations where you can shoot some easy motherf*cker out of the sky... as it isn't maneuverable as QAAM, which is VERY maneuverable... and kinda scary...
You can't neutralize enemy ace squadrons. And it takes the same amount of damage to destroy a plane as it takes to neutraize it. Which ones will be neutralized and which ones won't are predetermined.
I watched...and yea you need to turn the difficulty up a notch. However I will say this is the first vid I've seen you actually use your gun, so that's a small sign of improvement. I agree with Razgriz's old comment.

Yeah, wingmen are pretty useless. They get kills, but they never really seem to help.
Watching them in the replays, they seem more like they're "driving" their planes rather than flying it.

Raptor in Ace Combat games are pretty stiff. I prefer SU easy to manouver. The Typhoon and SU 35 37 and 47 are very good.

I find the guiding missile(The one where you have to keep the target in the circle) very useful. As long as you don't do it head on against a Ace.
It's pretty cool, point your target away, then pull it back quick. It's like, a missile possessed by a demon.

Rofl. Too true. But my playstyle, knight by nature aside, it to go in fast. AB'ing all the way, as in the Excalibur vid. From my standpoint, the XMAA's suit me best. On the mission where the nuke warps your hud I use them like mad, nailing everybody. I'll upload that tomorrow.

QAAM you mean?
Anyways, the radar is VERY useful to get your targets in your sights if you're searching for them.... like i end up going in circles (Lol... :D)
As for XMAA or QAAM, it depends.... XMAA is damn good for open situations where you can shoot some easy motherf*cker out of the sky... as it isn't maneuverable as QAAM, which is VERY maneuverable... and kinda scary...

You ever think that some people who are good players in Ace Combat don't have devices that upload videos?....
In any case, good shooting. Do you pay attention to the radar to see where the hostiles are going, or just watch them pass by?
One more question, you prefer the XMAA, or the QMAA(Spelled correctly?...)

I suppose harder modes will require 2 anyway.

You can't neutralize enemy ace squadrons. And it takes the same amount of damage to destroy a plane as it takes to neutraize it. Which ones will be neutralized and which ones won't are predetermined.

I watched...and yea you need to turn the difficulty up a notch. However I will say this is the first vid I've seen you actually use your gun, so that's a small sign of improvement. I agree with Razgriz's old comment.
