But every time he made a joke about anyone on the show they could just say well at least I was not caught doing drugs with a prostitute. It became impossible for the show to work because he was such an easy target. So after a few episodes Ian Hislop and Paul Merton met with the producers and asked that he be removed to save the show. Merton told this story on Parkinson.

Because a comment is negative does not make it any less valid than your own. It might dissapoint you but the person making the remark has every right to their opinion. Many of these so-called "comics" are just playground bullies being given lots of money to insult and intimidate others. MOST people dont like that.

They've got Fraiser, more intelecual than most everything here. Harry Hills TV burp is british and is more retarded than anything I've seen from the states.

I think that it may be more common to get more slap-stick comedy there, but jokes there going over my head doesn't mean I'm trying to look for a deeper joke where there isn't one, it's just a culture divide.

We also have Mr Bean, which is pure slap-stick, but then again, Mr Bean is awesome.
