I remember this so vividly. I've followed game shows since basically the womb and I remember Regis saying "What a shame" after that first guy won $1,000 and thinking "Really? He just took home a cool grand and it's a SHAME?!!" Anyone on The Price is Right would be THRILLED about winning that much in cash and it's nothing more than a parting gift here! This show really did revolutionize and revive its genre. What a piece of history, thanks for sharing it!

@assassin801 No, I think the questions were much easier. I think it was the intense music that got to the contestants. As the show progressed, the music stayed intense, but the questions got harder, and a timer was implemented, so it's virtually impossible to win $1 million nowadays. But it's definitely feasible.
