hellbenders is directed by the great sergio corbucci with joseph cotten and norma bengell with a great score from ennio morricone unforgetable form the maestro the cinematoghraphy is by enzo barboni who gave us terence hill and bud spencer in the trinity films.

Morricone's work is here is excellent. I love the jazz trumpet undertones about 1:22 into the track - then right into the typical Morricone change up to repeat the melody.

I find it ironic that Joseph Cotton's voice dubs to work with the dubbing of the italian actors to english "feels right" because Orson Welles was doing it 25 years earlier in Citizen Kane, Magnificent Ambersons and Mr. Arkadin.

Ennio è sempre eccezionale! Anche per Sergio Corbucci ha composto delle splendide musiche (Navajo Joe, Il Grande Silenzio, Vamos a Matar Companeros...). E' un peccato che questo film non venga mai trasmesso in televisione.

Don't know about that..thought it was one of the better spaghetti westerns, unlike so many..good story, plenty of drama, believable..it was on Movies For Men channel recently..my girlfriend thought it was a good film too..a masterpiece compared to some of them.

@taracanyon1 I like damn near all spaghettis, however, Hellbenders is certainly in my list of top Spaghetti Westerns, and Westerns in general.

The movie is not that great even tho I am big Corbucci fan in general. Joseph Cotton is completely miscast, but it has it's moments.
