  • v4?

    weight?

is it pos to get more hp?

  • Is that the V4?

  • I just love how on 2 strokes its only really loud when your on the gas and when you are it just travels and it seems like the farther away the better it sounds. Its just epic the way it echos and you can only really here the throttle blips when downshifting :p

  • baby come back! you can blame it all on me! tere was something... something.

WHY CAN'T I HAVE YOU IN AMERICA.

  • Sounds like a real MX-1 bike.....AWESOME....!!!

  • i always wanted one :0(

  • dude nice ride ,mcysui1

  • OMG

  • carenada de partida a pedal ¬¬

    lixo espacial

  • weed guy

  • Wrong forks.

  • i know that stock a RD400 is pushing like 40HP ... what is the most inexpensive mod to get the biggest increase in power?

  • @Uunster Head skim & port modification by a tuning specialist is probably your best bet.

  • bad ass!

  • very sweet sounding bike!must perform like a monster!!!wicked!

  • Hvor mange penge har du ca. ofret? ;) I alt :P + cykel.

  • @blax74 ca. 200.000 og det er jo alt for meget.

  • I owned an RD 350 and still would love to have a 350/400 LC.

    Great stuff, mate.

  • Now that is the sort of bike that I would masturbate over. Anyone got any toilet roll?

  • How fast?

  • @YamahaRacer00x hmmmm...depends of the gearing, but probably in the region of 250kmh. It might go faster but its not what its about, coz its not needed anyway..its teribly fast between 100 to the 200 kmh.Its where it shines realy.

  • Gee that was exciting!

  • is it possible to get more horses than 100?

  • @hereHehereHE . The power it has now, 100hp, is at the backwheel,Realisticly 15 hp more is possible, but it will take more money. Bigger carbs and fatter pipes will be necessary.

Its not the ideal engine to get big horsepower from, as the intake is different for upper and lower cylinderbank and there is a 90deg. angle at the manifold intake. Not good. But as long it can kick seriusly ass to a modern 600, AND almost keep up with a 750GSX-R..its ok.

    And i know...as i am the owner

  • Man I Love That Sound..Its sound more Sexyer then Having Sex With My Girlfriend...2-stroke For Life man....

  • @epiphone9384 , Yes, it sounds sexier than a French girl and a Japanese girl having sex with each other!

  • They will return if we fight for them. We need to support them and support the companys that do ( like ours ) and ride/race them whenever possible. There is a petition on-line to allow a closer engine sizing in MX or SX, sign it. Fight the good fight with us on all fronts.

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that sounds sex on wheels mate !!!!

  • A modern 600cc bike will out handle any production 500cc two-stroke.Time marches on.OK now they are running 600cc bikes in Moto GP.There are lap times to prove or dispel any arguments ! ! ! !

  • @twowheelflyercr 800cc in motoGP...600 in moto2..and if they had been goin on producin 2T now a sports 500v4 would have simply the power of a 1000cc, with more torque at medium rpms (rotatin a bit slower than nowadays 4Ts), even if very lower at low rpms..maybe even 200hp..but less weight..probably 30-40kg less..they would be another world..and they would be more exciting, wastin just a 30% more..not so important in a bike..seen people often use them for less than 1000km for year..bah..

  • @pazzoallaguida To compare an older production 500 2-stroke to a modern 600cc 4-stroke.Yes the 2-stroke has more power but ,the 4-stroke should turn a faster lap time.Better chassis and better larger tires,not to mention a more usable powerband.Now a modern v-4 2-stroke would be a different story.Am I correct ?

  • @twowheelflyercr yes you got it, in the last 10years the technique in this field has been growin up really fast, but only to 4stroke direction, for example it is incredible to think about now that 1000cc weight (with chassis volumes almost equal to the double of the old 500 2t..) is near the old 500 2t one..10years ago an aprilia rs250 could beat in many tracks the 600s..even though their power(35-40hp more)..now it's much more hard, powers are incredible..and the same bikes overall..

  • @twowheelflyercr I was on the understanding that the 600's are running slower than the 250's lap times? Also, one of Wayne Raineys 500'c was recorded at over 190mph, and im yet to see a 600cc do that. Time moves on sure, but imagine what another 20 years development would do to a 2 stroke. In fact, keep your eye out soon for the newly developed 2 stroke engines that are making more power, and better economy than an equal 4 stroke (google it).

  • @D4MOB They're making everything 4 stroke heavy.Streetbikes, lawnmowers, and now MX bikes & snowmobiles. The superior two stroke has twice the firing rate, less moving parts, lighter & cheaper.Improve them with harder rings and sleeves, ceramics to disipate heat & extend life...add next gen synthetic lubricant and one might even eliminate liquid cooling. The 2-str like, rotary wankel should be considered as well.Decrease 2-str emissions? no,refine the overengineered 4 str, keep'em heavy and expensive.

  • @D4MOB They will return. 2 strokes and rotarys fur the future!!

  • nice bodywork, wheres it from?

  • You have to buy yourself a gas station :))

  • motor of banshe

  • Anyone got a towel, when he took off my penis leaked a little....

  • im 6'1 i think the 500 is too short for me

  • That throttle response is unreal!

  • thats fukin gorgeous ans sounds soooooo nice!!

  • that sounds and looks great. I met a guy at the IOM TT back in 99 had one of these there. He told me he would show me round the track, and to follow him i stayed with him for about a quarter of the track before he left me for dead, still makes me laugh when i think about it now

  • nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo i love it!!!

  • nice agusta f4 ;)

  • I love two-strokes. I just wish manufacturers would invest in technology to make them complient with regulations.

  • Wish I kept my RZ500... this one sounds like a strong running version! Nice mods to bike!

  • Oh my gooooooooood!!!!!! what a rocket!!!!!

  • 2 stroke is easy to virittää

  • mines 4 stroke thumper great for rumble

  • You are all wrong! ...this Yamaha produce 88hp and 67Nm. Suzuki RG 500cc produces 95hp and 72Nm. These bikes can reach 150mph wich is damn fast for two stroke 25 year old motorcycles...

  • cough, 150....

  • @FiascoRR its not all about power in the two stroke its keeping it on the power!

  • @FiascoRR he never said it was stock standard though

  • @FiascoRR who the fuck are you? its not stock you complete bellend

  • 42 hp ha ha that's funny my 500 cc is only 50 hp with 30 torque

  • A Suzuki RGV250 produces 64hp in standard trim, the restricted Japanese market versions still produce 45hp.

    Your 500 is either a 4 stroke, a 1970ies era 500 2 stroke like a GT500 or a 2 stroke dirt bike like a CR500.

  • @Scootertuner1000 correct on the 1970s model 2 stroke, but the cr 500 produces like 60-65hp and has alot of torque. about 50 ft/lbs

  • The bike is mine..so your right..about 110 km. in first gear.

  • that 1st was dam long

  • Wow, it sounds and looks the business...Even the gearbox was race rep on this bike, tall first gear prob. over 100 kph

  • kick start?

  • Yea kick start. Why the need for more weight if you can kick it over so easy like that?

  • Whirpool :D

  • whats the 0-60mph?

  • fast

  • 1,3s

  • MY DICKKKK

  • RD seus animais de teta!

  • Pop 100? com uma arrancada dessa? oO

  • é uma pop 100?

  • I remember when the RD500 was first released, and what a stunning looking machine is was to.

I also remember because they were hard to come by, second hand examples were being sold for more than the new price!!

Unfortunately I could never afford to purchase one......

  • very cool!

  • aiuweri

  • The sound is like a mixture from 125 and 1000 a machine

  • exellent graphics and bike!!

  • Great work man! Really a fantastic result but you would have spent a lot of money on it.. maybe as many as the cost of the F4 that is shown when he starts :P

Nice choices about the exaust system, the front fork and the aestetics ;)

  • i want the black MV Agusta!

  • i did always 2 stroke races but the point about 2 stroke is that the power isn't easy to be use its like every thing or nothing. but i like the brutal sound. i have now a ninja, i prefer that now better than a 2 stroke.

sorry for my English i live in the Netherlands :P

  • Hallo,

woon je in Nederland? Heb je de RD nog steeds dan? Zou de motor wel eens willen zien. Erg gaaf ding hoor. Mooi geluid en zo.... Wil ook een rd 500. Wat heb je getuned?

    Groeten Vincent Spaan.

  • OOH! you can just hear it get up in the powerband...

  • very cool bike

  • 100bhp?

i thought they had lots moor than that as standard?

  • 87BHP stock.

  • wow, surprising. Iv ridden one and it felt like a flippin exocet missile!!!

  • I own a nice RDZ500 and a YZR500 and love them to bits :-) maybe we should sort a track day ?

  • of course..are u coming to Denmark ?

  • majestueux !!

  • Que guapada!

  • exhaust sounds awesome! long live 2strokes

  • chain saw

  • stunning bike mate, those bikes never cease to amaze me.

  • Como suenaaaaaaaaaa ese rd 500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oo man I dint know any 2-stroke street bikes existed.. 2 strokes need to come back..

  • they never left.

  • From the manufactures view they are gone. 2 stroke street bikes are dead to them. Which is sad. Hopefully they can make a more efficient and cleaner 2 stroke, but it is doubtful.

  • so beautiful!!!

  • Hi Guys.. the bike is mine..thanks for the kind words. I will bring another vid when the last tuning project is complete.

A stock RD/RZ 500 would not keep up with the latest 600`s- but if you put the right effort to it (as i have done) it will be right there with the latest- outpacing them in acc. to 100mph. then fading off with a litle lower top end.

  • Stator, thanks for this vid. One tip that might increase (as it did for me back then) is to get the rear cock-wheel 3 dents up. So much more fun, unless you go over 200 kmh all the time...

  • One pure thrill machine...I think that after the rd500 there wasn't any other 2 stroke v4 bike built so it's quite unique as a model. These bikes were the closest possible to motogp bikes of the time and in general of all times..just awesome...

  • The Suzi RG 500 was way closer, sorry. But that was not a V4.

  • You're right about the RG500 but the RD500 (rvz model) was a v4 2-stroke.I'm sure about that cuz I've seen some in Greece.Or maybe the rvz is called rd too cuz of the differences between names of imported bikes in europe and america.

  • Check out the Bimota Vdue.

  • jesus.... this would eat my all money, not that shit that they build nowadays. a bike for a man with balls. awsome.

  • these bikes rd 500 s are total animals and thats wot makes em fun to ride

  • nice mv agusta

  • The two strokes RG500 and RD500 are exciting but I've to ask you all:talking about the main performance tests and measurements, could an Honda 600 bone stock match these bikes in stock trim too? And what about tracktimes?

    thx

  • a late model 500cc 2 stroke would destroy any 600cc 4 stroke

  • to gilezzz -

can't believe!I guess over 10 years long developments should have filled the gap between 2 and 4 stroke engines.Thx for info.

  • @gilezzz maybe even 1000cc 4 strokr

  • @KCONXXX not even a 600cc. My R6 got 126hp, so it would be pritty equal. Lovly bike tho (the RD)

  • @Warioren ya sport bikes are sick

  • @gilezzz Even a 250cc 2 stroke would destroy any 600cc, i think that a 500cc would kill even an 800cc four stroke.....

  • @Xkima77 Actually A two stroke 500cc would slaughter a Hayabusa. Check out the

    Suter SRT 500 V4 with 190 horsepower.

  • they make 250cc two stroke bikes that will stomp all over a stock R1, on a track that is, the R1 would have a higher top end.

  • 2strokes have the speed but 4strokes have the powerband and reliability.

  • speed? u mean power?

  • "but 4strokes have the powerband and reliability". With that many more moving parts? Not true, just ask any MX rider or outboard owner for example. Sorry dude, can´t help but defending 2 smokers.

  • I had a 2nd hand RD350 and it was much harder to ride on a motorway than my CB400, at some points when there was a raise in the road I had to change down a gear to keep the bike in the powerband and at motorway speed.

  • 2strokes are the ones famed for having the powerband that makes you smile, with 4strokes it's just a nice easy to judge power curve, and reliability? certainly the 4stroke engines do a lot more miles but 2strokes are much simpler (and cheaper) to repair. And if 2strokes were better developed - to the point 4strokes are right now - who knows? 2stroke may still be the dominant type of engine in motorcycles (particularly small ones)

  • well, my yz 125 is so much more fun than any equivelant size 4 stroke, there so easy to tune and get huge amounts of power out of, my yz is producing 42bhp and when that kicks in you can seriously feel it.

  • haha, nooo rly? :P I love my 2stroke 125 but it's going to be my last due to costs of running larger ones (otherwise i'd soo get an RGV250...) 2strokes are great - it's just hard to keep them running because of Honda and the whole "too dirty too loud" bs, my lil road legal 2stroke 125 is way quieter than most of the 4stroke 125s i see (then again my bike is stock and they've got aftermarket exhausts for more power.) Ride on, I hope you enjoy your yz :P (thoguh 46hp sounds like exxageration)

  • lol. yh they're the most fun machine to ride. yh honda do my head in, my mates dt 125, even with a DEP silencer is so quiet! you cant here it at all its so quiet. i do enjoy my yz very much :) no, i said 42bhp lol, and that isnt an exxageration, it has an fmf pipe and it has been lightly ported. :)

  • @buzzender your 125 dosent have anywhere near 42 horse, even to the crank

  • you wouldnt believe how many people say that, if thats what you think, fair enough im not even going to bother arguing with you, i saw the dyno readings, not you.

  • my tz125 makes about that, it's a race bike though. i have to rebuild the motor pretty frequently, it will never idle..etc.

  • 125s do not produce 42HP!!!! you got a little carried away there? :-)

  • sometimes, YES!

    gasgas 125, 37hp,

    TM 125, 40 hp!!!!!

that's not 42, but it's near to it

  • Comment removed

  • @modcit my yz125 stock makes 34bhp and 19ft-lb torque with the vforc3 reeds and fmf pipe and the 144 kit and the right front and rear sprocket it can make 42bhp to the rear wheel so you may want to re think your statement and i would say that most riders that ride a 125 do what i have done to mine before the bike makes 3 years old

  • Comment removed

  • they should bring out more 2 stroke 600 n 500 cause they just have awsome power

  • Wow man nice bike.

  • LOVELY.....

  • What bike? This is good! I want it!

  • RDZ 500.Wat an animal. powerband 2 die for..

  • Very nice bike, with full of feeling! What about the bike full speed, oil and fuel consuption?

  • Well..it consumes oil and gas like nothing else does really..but it goes like stink..beleive me..

  • Awesome sound!!!!!!!!!

  • That is one sexy beast you have there, Good job!

  • Geil! 2T Power!

  • thats friggin brill!!!

  • Congratulations. Very good replica.
