Conservative Catholics have a thing similar to hijab, a scarf worn to attend mass, though not outside of that context today. I'm curious about the purpose of hijab. My understanding is that it's a modesty issue, the idea being that it's immodest for women to show their hair publicly, and/or that it's a sign of submission to God (like Catholics). Is it both? And if it's a modesty issue, what are the rules? Is it supposed to be worn at all times, around spouses and close family, or just in public?
I found this very prolific, although I'm not Muslim. I really respect you for making this video. Keep it up. *Not to say I wouldnt respect you regardless, but yeah you get me.*
I'm a Catholic Christian female. I have no intention of converting to Islam. I find the long skirts or loose pants and long sleeved blouses with high necklines to be practical & beautiful. The headscarf styles are beautiful too. That's just my perspective as an outsider to your religion & culture.
CONT'D It's sad that so many Christians today are weak in faith, but I do not judge them becasue it is not my place. I just wanted to try and clear it up that covering is not required by God to be a Christian or lead a good life. If anyone has any questions/ problems with this please show me the respect I show you. :)
CONT'D required of us becasue it is impossible. It is impossible for us to be perfect, and to even try is a slap in the face of God's gift. Through Jesus only are we saved, not through works, and that is why most of us don't cover - it is simply not required of Christians. What is required of us is to believe - that is all. We strengthen our beliefs by praying, though it is not required. We show our love of god by obeying his commandments to love and respect, but it is not required. CONT'D
@kittycatcarley You sound foolish, how is praying not a requirement in Christianity. What????? Mary covered herself as well. Christianity is made up of soooo many contradictions by man, this is why ur confused.
@99whynot99 There is no requirement or rule on how to pray in Christianity, and since you can't spell, I'd say you are the foolish one. I was being polite and making a logical argument and you can't even make one back. You are not part of this conversation since you cannot argue your way out of a paper bag, let alone a hijab ;).
@kittycatcarley Well sorry for my rudeness I really didnt want to offend you, but by the way (ur ) is short hand for (your). When anyone comment on a vid they're giving ppl (short for people) an opportunity to reply. Once again read the Bible and it will state that Jesus prostrated to God n throughout the Bible it states to worship God n God only not man but God. How does one worship u might ask, ONE way is to PRAY!
@kittycatcarley No disrespect but here it is plain as day, THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME.
THOU SHALT NOT MAKE UNTO THEE ANY GRAVEN IMAGE.
THOU SHALT NOT TAKE THE NAME OF THE LORD THY GOD IN VAIN. Now this is no argument right here, yet Jesus a prophet who is worshipped as well as in a graven image throughout churches. Allahu Akbar (means God in arabic is Great)!
@99whynot99 The Ten Commandments are Christian. There are no Ten Commandments in the Koran. There's only one commandment: Anything goes, if it's good for Islam.
@MohammedTheBabyRaper First off, your name is ridiculous. No matter if ur belief is different that is just ignorant and intolerant to have that name as ur posting on Muslim videos. Furthermore, The Ten Commandments was before The Koran, just as many others commandments God has instructed man to do and not to do. Ur agrument is very irrelevant to what I stated to someone earlier, but once again so-called Christians want to take away from what God has commandment about not having images of him.
@MohammedTheBabyRaper Cont. and not to have any God but him hence, (Jesus) . Jesus was a prophet a man that God (Allah in Arabic language) chosen to deliver that message he conveyed to us. I will never praise man but God. Ur agrument is irrelevant to what I said earlie to someone else's post bcuz u so-called Christian will always find loops around the truth to serve u. Muslims have rules to follow by God thru prophets telling us right from wrong. Read the Bible about not eating pigs but u do
I am a Christian and I respect all religions and spiritual views, but let me say one thing: no one knows if Mary covered or not becasue it is not in the Bible. Nuns cover their hair becasue they take the extreme literal version of the Bible and I respect their decision to do so. However, that is not what Christianity is about. Christianity is simply the belief in Jesus as God. The actions that define a Christian are simply to love and respect others and believe in Jesus. Nothing else is CONT'D
@kittycatcarley a lot of stuff isn't mentioned in the bible and mary did go covered. christianitity is not belief in jesus as god, it's to believe that god manifested through jesus and to be crystalized into one with god through christ. jesus is not god, i'm sory. he was just a prohet as muhammad(pbuh), naoh, abraham, moses, isaiah, jacob, issac, and whoever else that was a prophet i the bible. you people get on my nerves with your foolishness. los s.c. 29010
@ambersassy168 Whaaaat??? Jesus was a crystallized God? I don't think so! I think I know my faith better than any Muslim, I won't discuss that with you. Jesus is my God, if you have something against that, I really couldn't care less, but I hope he blesses you and I hope one day you might realize how special you are.
@kittycatcarley How can Jesus be God when he worshipped God n stated not to worship any God but me! It's n Isiah look it up, May Allah who is God n not my God but everyone's God, may he guide u!
I dont want argue with a fool who continues to bark lies. Keep on barking. I mean have you once been toa Mosque and asked question or have once gone to a schoolar to ask him what it says in the hadith. I doubt it so there no point of arguing with someone who likes to be ignorant. So stay ignorant, its what you want to be.
AGAIN YOU DONT TELL ME WHICH HADITH AND WHAT LINES, FOR ALL I KNOW YOUR MAKEING ALL OF THIS UP. SHOW ME THE EVIDENSE!! If you want to prove a point give me the lines where you got your information. Also Mohammaed did not want to marry Aisha but god told me to so Ashia could spread Islam after Prophet Mohammed died. Also Mohammed did not touch her till she was an adult. When Mohammaed died she she continue to spread Islam and never did mohammed hit a women. Stop spreading lies
@yelloworangered I was reading what you wrote and I am just curious where you got your information from because I got mine from the Quran.
“O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not annoyed.” (Quran 33:59)
The reason muslim women cover themself is so their recognized for their brain not for their apperance. I ment no offense, peace!!.
Orthodox Judaism requires women to cover their hair and dress modestly. Many wear wigs so they appear to be showing their real hair. As for Christian women, you are wrong. Images of Mary or the saints wearing medieval garb or what medieval artists thought people wore in the Middle East are NOT in any way required dress. The traditional habits of nuns were medieval dress that did not evolve. Vatican II ended them. Islam requires women to hide themselves or be uncovered meat as the iman said.
@yelloworangered Also if I said anything wrong do correct me but I got this strictly from the Quran. Iam very open minded to new things so i'd love for you to explain your ideas with evidense.
P.S " Islam requires women to hide themselves or be uncovered meat as the iman said."
I want to ask you what imam said that and what are his sources.
P.S.S I am sorry for my bad grammer, Iam only fourteen.
Like I said I ment no offense and I do like to keep things peaceful.
@theclownsemptytears Read the hadith, before you read the quran. These hadith will give you a true idea of the charactor and personality of the man who wrote the quran.
An example; the hadith tells you that mohammed slept with a dead woman... to prevent her stay in hell, because he said most of the inhabitant of hell are women, therefore, have intercourse with the dead woman, would be equal to his wife, and give this dead soul credance in paradise.
@Putnis1 Excuse me but the Quran is more important than the hadith because hadith is what people gather not what God had sent down. Also where are the lines in the hadith were got this information.
P.S I doubt it said that in the hadith, even if so I bet you read out of context.
Please give me the source for your information so i can learn farther.
@theclownsemptytears Source:- Hadiths, a good idea is to reseach and find the relevant hadiths. You doubt it exist... guess what, it there, along with another dirty hadith, that reduce women to nothing..
Hadith 525 - Mohammed said 'place a woman on all fours, and fatigue her... before ejaculating, following which you are to wash.
Your religion called mohammed (a beast) an prophet. The quran is just as low in morality, but the hadiths are the sayings and deeds of mohammed!
@Putnis1 Again you did not give the hadith name, neigther did you give me the direct source or lines from the hadith. No point of arguing with an a ignorant person. I read the Quran well and I also looked up the history behind certain lines. Some lines may not make since in hadith or Quran if you dont have the history behind it or if you mistranslate it. All the stuff your mentioning does not make sense and neigther was it writen in the Quran.
@theclownsemptytears I also suggest if certain things dont make sense you should go to the Mosque and ask questions. The things you mentioned are all false and wrong. I bet you didn't even read the Quran or hadith but got random lines from online. I really hope you learn instead of spreading ignorance. I will pray for you!!!
@theclownsemptytears Your making assumptions, assuming(1) one wasn't a muslim. (2) one as no direct knowledge of islam.
Islam NOW make lots of sense, and I would advise you to look beyond your mosques and ask questions of islam and modammed. Outside islam is freedom, to live, feel and love, truely love. Everything I quoted is from the Tafsir, Hadith and quran, so it seems you are in deeper darkness than I, particularly in not knowing these hadiths or surahs. Do some reasearch!
P.S Islam does not say anything wrong about women and neigther did Mohammed do anything wrong to women. In fact he respected women. I am a muslim female I would Know.;)
@theclownsemptytears Can I tell you, 3 qurans currently sit in my home... yet the hadithe told me the truth, and clearly show the personality and charactor of allah and mohammed, whereas, the qur'an kept me in darkness.
gosh! allah such a devil, isn't he....
Little do you know how clean all the other religion are, iin comparison to the 'religion of' 'peace.'
Oh, Have you see the demonic face, materialised reecently on the Dome on the Rock.... the face of a demon age by light......
@theclownsemptytears Are you delusional, Aisha (mohammed 6 year old wife), please tell me how many children did Aisha have for your beloved prophet?
Please tell me, what did Aisha say to Mohammed when he whacked her in her chests?
Please tell also, what do Umar and rhe hijab/Burka have in common?
The hadiths show the truth evil of mohammed... Gosh one might as well call Hitler a prophet, and this is easy to see when the hadiths are fully studied. These hadiths are more important.
@Putnis1 Also Beside Mohammed 's first wife and Ashia Mohammed married the others because they were either a widow or could not support herself. Mohammed truely loved all his wife and was a kind humble man. Do not compare Mohammed, the prophet to Hitler.
@theclownsemptytears You really should answer the points, or at least attempt to, as your having difficulties telling the truth, i'll help you a little.
Now, Aisha didn't have children, because Mo' wasted her womb when he penetrated her when she was 9yrs, and he, 50 yrs old. Today we call that a rape, (she too young to give consent), and pedophilia, (he was a dirty old dog).
Regards to the widows and unsupported women. Mohammed murdered their husbands and forced many into marriage.
I love the study of History. Interpretation do no remove NECROPHILE from your PEDOPHILE PROPHET. What a shame for free black wo/men.
Ibn Abbas:Treasury of Worker , Hadith 34424 Kanezel omall fe sunan al aquwal I dressed her in my tie-shirt , so that she will be wearing the clothes of heaven, and I slept ( had sex ) (edajaat ) with her in her grave. She was the best of people that Allah created.
Further, muslims are leaving islam when the learn of the hadiths.
@Putnis1 Again you mistranslated those lines or you miscomprehend them, You probably took a line out of context and used for your advantage, I truely suggest you ask schoolar about Islam rather making up up your own assumptions.
Narrated Maimuna: Allah's Apostle performed ablution like that for the prayer but did not wash his feet. He washed off the discharge from his private parts and then poured water over his body. He withdrew his feet from that place (the place where he took the bath) and then washed them. And that was his way of taking the bath of Janaba.
Whenever mohammed took the bath of Janaba (sexual relation or wet dream) he asked for the Hilab or some other scent. He used to take it in his hand, rub it first over the right side of his head and then over the left and then rub the middle of his head with both hands.
on the authority of his father that he had asked 'Aisha (about the Hadith of Ibn 'Umar). She said, "May Allah be Merciful to Abu 'Abdur-Rahman. I used to put scent on Allah's Apostle and he used to go round his wives, and in the morning he assumed the Ihram, and the fragrance of scent was still coming out from his body."
Anas bin Malik said, "The Prophet used to visit all his wives in a round, during the day and night and they were eleven in number." I asked Anas, "Had the Prophet the strength for it?" Anas replied, "We used to say that the Prophet was given the strength of thirty (men)." And Sa'id said on the authority of Qatada that Anas had told him about nine wives only (not eleven).
@theclownsemptytears It seems, all those wives increase the risk of sexually transmitted diseases!!!
Volume 1, Book 5, Number 269:
Narrated 'Ali:
I used to get emotional urethral discharge frequently. Being the son-in-law of the Prophet I requested a man to ask him about it. So the man asked the Prophet about it. The Prophet replied, "Perform ablution after washing your organ (penis)."
I have the same information you have, including the sources and history. Now, whilst you live in your ignorance, I have enjoy the historical recording accorded to Mohammed, including his life, deeds and sayings. The Hadiths support the quran, and the shameful past of pervert Mohammed is well documented and available for all to research.
Now, my two qurans tell me how beautiful (wrong), Mohammed was not....
@theclownsemptytears Ignorance...are muslims! That is why, my dear, I refer people to read the hadiths and relevant books on modammed before the read the quran.
Unless you have difficulties in literacy skills, the hadiths give a clear and concise view on Modammed evils, made poetic within the quran. Ignorance are what ex-muslims refer to those still in islam, and those accepting islam today.
Now, unless you are illiterate, google Hadiths, then mohammed sleeping with the dead.
Everyone on here needs a serious reality check. No one ever said makeup is haram. Makeup doesn't lead to rape! If she wants to look nice, stop being envious and compliment her for looking beautiful. Stop making up your own rules just because you are too afraid of what people will say about you and be yourself. If you want to judge people, look at yourself first because everyone has their flaws. What she does is between her and Allah.
@Mimimariah12 How can you say that make up doesn't lead to rape? If seeing a woman's leg or elbow leads to rape, how is it possible that doing something explicitly to be attractive such as wearing make up doesn't lead to rape?
@Mimimariah12 Whilst wearing makeup may not be Haram, It is frowned upon to bring the amount of attention to yourself that makeup does. I think you know that. When we practice our Din we should stop looking for loopholes that allow us to do as we wish. We don't have to be Muslim to do what we want to do! Also, there is much said about the plucking of eyebrows. We should ask Allah to help us come closer to the correct manner rather than Take what we want and leave what we dont.
@Mimimariah12 'No one ever said makeup is haram.' There was no makeup in the 7th century. But there were women.
Tabari IX:113 “Allah permits you to shut them in separate rooms and to beat them, but not severely. If they abstain, they have the right to food and clothing. Treat women well for they are like domestic animals and they possess nothing themselves. Allah has made the enjoyment of their bodies lawful in his Qur’an."
Thank you for addressing modesty as a mindset. I know many who are quick to judge someone who doesn't cover yet there action are considered haram and they 'cover' ( men and women.) Outward means nothing if it doesnt start from within. Islam is not the length of a beard. Aqeeda police get so caught up and turn people off to the beauty of the religion end result: Dowah in a vacum. SMH
@oshea1111able where are you getting your information? If a man is muslim he wudn't rape a woman because it is against islam... doing so would make them unreligious! unless ofcourse like every human being the regret doing so, change, repent and make up for it.
@oshea1111able However, let me ask you that question... i think you;'re a guy i can't tell by the name/ if u're a gurl jus use guy common sense... but would you check out a girl who's body is in a bikini or a girl who's body you cannot even see? Let's get logical hereand if a guy wants to
@Noranapps men will find a women in a bikini attractive because its natural. a women in a hijab is just as attractive because they have a mystique about them, men know theres a women underneath, but its taboo. both sexy
@oshea1111able Now I live in a community where there are both hijabis and non hijabis. I myself am one of the non hijabis so far, but those skirt chasers, the guys who want 2 get in ur pants etc. always stay dirty and so are their methods, my Hijabi friends have nothing happen to them like that, no guy tries with them because they know they're intention, myself and my friends who don't wear it, allways end up being in those awkward situations, cheated, decieved etc..
@oshea1111able you are talking about the sick men waiting for a chop across the corner of the street, these guys will hit on anything that walks. But for the guys at school, at work etc. the guys who want to get in ur pants, just wanna play you, jus wanna flirt, these guys know a hijabi's intention and if informed will most likely not approach her. Plus I've never met a guy who finds face and hands so attractive, when he's got a half naked girl right in front of him.
@Noranapps like i said why should you have to change your life to accomodate these people, women are attracted to men but they dont harass them in such ways, well maybe on rare occasions. give them what for if they get on your nerves. fight indignant behaviour. dont victimise the perpetraitor by saying its not his fault, but the womens for wearing shorts otherwise this behavior will continue to b acceptible.
@oshea1111able yes but there's allways the argument of "why would you show it if you don't want me to stare", and eventualy this starring creates attraction, and one day one man is going to not the the "screw off" remark and become a friend or boyfriend. Both relationships with no base, other than the hot girl i chill with cuz she makes me seem cool, or the gurl i'm gunna get down on.
@oshea1111able like honestly TNAs and tights with short shirts, and how women have become such materials now a days. Not everyman thinks like that, but trust me, I've allways been the tomboy and I know how most men think. & not every girl wants to be a slut. We choose to wear hijab because we don't live for getting actions, for showing off our beauty, for attention and acceptance. Honestly there's much more to life than that.
@oshea1111able But back to my point, women aren't forced to do it, and sisters not wearing the Hijab don't get raped, i come from the middle east, when there is rape, it's rape girls with scarfs and no scarfs. People don't just make gangs to target non hijabis, but when there is harassement it's usualy to the girl wearing the short skirt.
@Noranapps i agree with that totally. rape is the sin of man not women, they should control thier urges. its only natural for women to protect themselves when thier is no protection that they can rely on.
@oshea1111able rape a woman... he's just some next thug he'll rape any woman even if she's older than him, however if he had the choice between a young one nd an old one, I'm pretty sure he would go for the younger lookin one... jus the same as the one he finds attractive and another he can't even tell if she is or not... last point, hijab is not only 2 protect a woman from getting rapped, there are much deeper meanings 2 it
@Noranapps oh and by the way rape isn't the only issue, but those cat calls and guys taht come up to you in the mall for your number.. oh and woman trafficing, all of these go for the broken down good looking girl. If they see a woman walking with her hijab, head high, they will never go for her, because she won't satisfy their needs. which leads to muslim women having better lives and inshallah better and safer relationships.
I'm sorry that is just rude. I think you should learn to talk to people in a polite manner. Her intentions are pure inshAllah. That's all that matters. Don't judge anyone by there looks. That is not even that much makeup...and it shouldn't really make a difference in your life if she decides to wear makeup or not, and by calling her ugly its just rude...especially when its a lie. Im not trying to make you angry but that comment was totally unnecessary.
Alright so wearing hijab is a protection, is a way of being yourself not a material.... But how can on have the mindstate of wearing it for allah? I mean everytime of reasons I think I should wear it is selfrespect, not being rated by guys, ppl lookin at yu for who you are, but what about God? is it that your beauty is for him and your husband only or what is it that makes hijab for god and not simply something that helps in life as I have been able to see it?
God sees people for their inward piety and how they profess Faith. Any outward expression of faith such as wearing hijab is a social construct. Good intentions come from Faith; clothes do not make the person, God makes the person.
I don't understand if you're saying Hijab does not relate to fate, or the exact purpose of that comment. Are you saying that a girl in a music video with her but all over the place is the same as a girl who is well covered and has self respect as long as they are both as good on the inside?
If it were a social construct then it wud be a damn good one, making women have selfrespect, being of higher value, and looked at as people not bodies. But it is an inward expression as well, if it comes...
Too many people judge a measure of one's faith by their outward appearances rather than how well they live the virtues of God. For instance, there are wrong-minded Muslims who judge a woman's piety by the hijab she wears. In fact a woman is scorned and ostracised if she chooses not to wear hijab. Yet she continues worshipping and remaining faithful to Faith. In the US, wearing a hijab is a matter of personal choice that is not forced upon them by their male relatives or by Sharia.
Definatly if you're wearing Hijab does not make you a good muslim/ nor does not wearing the hijab make yu a bad muslim as only judge can see you for who you really are. And I never said that women who don't weare it are outcasts, because I don't weare it yet! & I follow all the 5 pilars ilhamdullah. But Hijab is mentioned more than once in the quraan. Personaly I think it will strengthen my Eman, less guys will hit on me, I'll be less obsessive over beauty, and favour God over beauty & selfimag
Plus I live in canada and no one is making the hijab choice for me, only I am. & I'm finding myself closer to god by simply thinking of giving up my clothes, fashion, and image (what people think of me) for God. It's inner Jihad, because Jihad isn't simply physical fighting as islam is a peaceful religion , but it's simply any struggle for God, and struggling within yourself and changing for the better with intentions of fulfilling God's words is a type of Jihad within itself.
In Senegal, it is acceptable for unmarried women wear an open hijab that displays the face. Married women wear niqaab with gloves as a personal preference or at the suggestion of her husband. This is an example of how wearing hijab is based on customs in one specfic country.
I don't think the quraan mentions covering the face, the hand and the legs. I personally don't believe in niqab. But as I made my point earlier, then the woman is wearing it for reasons other than what I have mentioned, and only god knows if it is to be looked at as faith or modesty or simply blind obedience. I don't believe in Hijab as a custom, nor a fashion as it is now in my home country, it is simply for god and a healthier way of life.
Good intentions to carry out good deeds is pleasing in the sight of the Almighty. A woman who wears hijab and niqaab with good intentions to adhere to Faith is change for the better.
and doing it with the intention to please God just like any simple daily task could be taken with the intention and for the sake of god can be regarded as a godly thing, which definatly makes the world change for better. But again, it's not for you neither I to judge, only god can judge whether an act is to please him or for other reasons.
for God, and not for parents and not to fit in society better. You can simply be walking down the street or studying-> social construct, but doing it for god is faith. It makes the woman less obsessive over her beauty and more concentrated on better things,Honestly you must read a lot, and hear many Hijabi women and even scholars speak about Hijab to understand the inward and more Godly part to it, I did not understand before but now I have a better sense... but would like to hear more
Wearing hijab as protection is meant as a symbol of Faith. However, the social interpretation of such often means obedience in more socially conservative countries such as Oman and Saudi Arabia. There women literally interpret the Quoran with strict adherence to Sharia which dictates social customs. In many instances that means complete coverage from head to toe. Older family members feel comfortable completely covered because that's how they interpret social customs from the Quoran.
yup that's true people do that... but going back to my point hijab is main to be faithful rather than social nor traditional, but again many things that the quraan tells us to do are things that are meant to create order and a better society and create us better within ourselves, for god and for a better living which is all again for god...
True. The Faithful wear their outer garments as part of their physical appearance. Faith clothes people from within and from without regardless of social custom. We can be naked spiritually without knowing the true meaning of Faith or we can be clothed in doubt. Faith is a hallmark of spiritual enlightenment and its the only clothes the Faithful need to wear. Wearing hijab is nice as well :)
Yeah but it's necessary and is an act of worship. To me someone who knows about Hijab and reasons for it and does not wear even if they have strong faith is just like a philosopher muslim who definatly believes in God and knows the five pilars but chooses not 2 pray, because they believe that the faith is simply everything. So yes Hijab does matter in faith. I mean it's not just about believing, if you really do have stronge faith then yu wud follow the words of God(in quran)telling yu 2 wear it
So does that mean Canadians and American muslimahs are not following the Faith because they choose not to wear hijab? I beg to differ. We have the luxury to debate the aspects of wearing hijab because we live in open societies. The challenge to all the Faithful is adhering to all Five Pillars, as it is part of personal jihad. We make sincere repentance in supplication to the Almighty to remove defects in character. And it is the Almighty who knows best in all matters.
Buddy, I live in Canada, and you don't understand how many canadian women wear hijab, even converts of all races! & If society is preventing you from wearing it then I guess that's your value, but if my society was preventing me from wearing it, then that's one extra reason why I should wear it, to stop discrimination and inequality in my society and because I'd favour God over fitting in. Like I'm a lifeguard, I would either quit my job to wear it or wear it during work despite the outcomes.
Now going back to what i said before, does not wearing hijab make you a bad muslim? Umm I'm still not wearing it, I'm still planning on it asap and when i'm ready (inshallah this ramadan). & I pray ilhamdullah and everything, following the pilars, I even pray in locker rooms after practice even if people stare at me. But fighting for hijab is a more faithful jihad. Faith is levels and I think Hijab is a higher one, but btw everytime a woman is underdressed and a man sees, BOTH get sins.
I don't know excatly why you keep argueing. I'd like for you to read and understand the quraan if you haven't already. Whether to wear hijab or not is your choice, but answering your question which was my first intention Hijab is a faithful action not simply a social construct. If you'd like to continue this discussion then please message me, because the owner of this video is probably getting too many e-mails, and we're getting off topic of the video + I want people to respond to my 1st comment
Ouch! I'm over in Vancouver, BC where many hijabi and non-hijabi feel very comfortable with their identity. They get respect for their decisions to wear or not wear hijab. Men respect women who respect for themselves, the main sentiment of your video. Minds are like parachutes andwork best when they're open. The Quoran teaches self-respect and respect for others' perspectives on life. While reading the Quoran, I pray that you and all the sisters do so with an open heart. As-salaamu alaykum.
This may sound completelt off subject. But the wudu how to's i've seen on you tube say you have to you hands on your hair while wet...Is that not an issue to some women?
I am a african american muslim, born and raised. I wear my covering as in long skirts matching scarves. but I also know that black is this Deen and I keep alot of that. I also cover my hair all the way to my eyebrows covering them. From a sis to a sis, you dont need the make up, Allah SWT made us all beautiful. Ive done so well Im down to my lip gloss. gotta have the lip gloss! Good video
As Salaamu Alaikum, Love the video sister. Thanks for posting. I was just wondering if you could post the links to the blog websites in your information section. Just a suugestion. I kerp getting an error msg for one of the blog websites but got it finally. Thanks again!
Ok you say that you made this video to be halal and in style? you cant be halal when you posting videos of yourself wearing soo much makeup and lipstick and also earings, you are not supose to do that, please remove this video you are contradicting yourself
Salaam. Please Dont be judging the sister for wearing the make up and doing what she's doing. Let Allah be the judge. the problem with us Muslim now days we tend to get up on our self righteous horses and start judging everyone. Masha Allah she wears the Hijab. Remember we all have our weaknesses. I make du'a that Allah strengthens our imaan and gives us hidy'ah so that we are able to become better muslims. Wasalaam.
YOUR RIGHT BUT DOIN UR EYE BROWS IS REALI BAD. ALLAH doesnt like it and its forbidden. Thats something nearly all our sisters are forgetting. But then again it is the 21st century... no body cares right -.-
une des règles de l'Islam est le respect, la sagesse et la politesse lorsqu'on passe un message. Il faut toujours essayer de contrôler nos émotions même lorsqu'on est fâché et parler avec calme. C'était juste un rappel.
wow, you've been to multiple arab countries and met 50% of the guys in each country?? I am impressed. You should help with doing statistics and studies, u can make a good buck since u met all those. :) peace
you even reminded me to do a documentary on that. i will put up a video about that soon inshalah. i'm not making this up seriously. i went to oman and abu dhabi and theres more gays than here in london
jig glyfiffa125 I am arabic, I live in arabia visited many arabic countries several times, what u r saying is absoloutly not true, there is as much gays here as anywhere if not less. Men do not become gay because of women.
another thing that just accured to me, in the time of Jesus and mary may peace be apon them both. Women used to wear same clothes as hijab, even more covered. Do you think that half the men then were gay too?
Masya Allah All the good is from Allah and all the mistake solely from myself, well I am concern ..and I was not talking that wearing the earing is wrong, you can always wearing the earing but under the veil
I was worried that if she wearing it like that then her neck will show
after all sister in Islam da'wah and reminding is recommended..Insya Allah
and hijab is not just about covering the head beyond that it is submission to Allah Insya Allah...
You are BEAUTIFUL!! islam liberates the inner beauty of human, something many will never understand! you look stunning beatiful with the hijab! Please stay on the righteous path! endless blessing to you sister! As an African im even proud seeing African Muslimah! peace to you
he he sister, first what you do here is Insya Allah will bring barokah to all of us Insya Allah.
but something annoyed me sister, why you wearing your khimar like that? with earing? As in this video you shown us which one is the winner...but remember wearing it also to cover your front..Insya Allah
Well, Allahualam bisawwab..
I went to your website, thank you I learn alot..Alhamdulillah
and why are you claiming she is wrong to do so? we don't know exactly what is right n wrong. you cannot prove anywhere in quran that wearing earings while wearing hijab is the wrong.. its our intentions that matter and you dont know hers. just stop i dont wear earings with hijab but i dont have any reason to tell someone that its wrong.. stop making the Islam a bickering match please its not a good look on us to the world.
as salaamu alaikum... insha allah this doesnt reach anyone in a manner that it oppresses them... my viewpoint on the matter would be that a portion of the ear would show by wearing earrings, and if they do than that is inappropiate seeing as though the ears are to be completely covered
* her breasts sorry. Im not trying to be crude or anything. Im being honest. Hijab rocks. it protects women in such an amazing way subhanallah. Gotta tell these people. Respect to All the women out there, may Allah protect you and keep you safe.
Like I said, hijab is more than protection but obviously this is the only point you can make argument with. Thankyou for reading and for your comments.
All rape is bad whether you are covered from head to toe or completely naked so please do not get me mistaken. My point is that maybe girls should be more aware of how they are perceived by men. A judge once said that the mini skirt was a mans ticket to take advantage of a women (ie rape). I do no wish to argue with you with what is right and what is wrong. I was merely giving you a reason for why we wear hijab. thanks for taking time to read :)
emadsayyah5 I gave u a clear explanation of why we wear hijab as you seemed confused as to why we wear it. I didnt ask you to accept it or to approve it was just an explanation. Also I do not think you can stereotype all men the way you have. Men can control their sexual desires...there is proof..otherwise every man would be walking around as a rapist. However when a girl walks around exposing herself to men, can a man really blamed for getting the wrong impression.
no they cant control their their sexual desires , cuz if they see a woman covered up, that makes them want then more, cuz of what they call " the hunt ". a hijab doesnt offer protection,it actually increases more sexual desires for men,
so u telling me u see a woman covered (wearing a scarf and jilbab) and u want her more then the girl walkin past u wit her titties hangin out and thong on scene. u silly little liar. Or perhaps thats ur own personal opinion. other men im sure, will choose differently.
MizShinobi1 :wow i feel so bad for u , i bet saying all that stuff to me made u feel good. but hahah actualyy it jus made me laugh even more, try harder next time.
if u must know i wish i never had 2 say anythin to u.but u just doesnt make any sense by saying, covering up increases a mans attraction to u. u try completely covering urself and see if a man likes u.
then apparently dear u need to learn more , its called the hunt, wen a man sees a woman all covered he wants her more cuz its an adventure for him to see wats underneath the clothing. now u can disagree all u want but it still doesnt change the real fact of what i told u.
Well ive had my time with and without hijab, and have ALOT less attention thankfully. so uve been proven wrong. lol ur nuts btw. seriously we'r laughin at u 4 thinkin that. thats y every tv show amongst other things, always teach a girl to show a littl less if he wants 2 get her man excitd. if what ur sayin is tru den every magazine would have covered women on, as opposed 2 bikinis. hooligan
oh trust me im laughing harder than u , and u wont be laughing wen u r trying to reacover from a beat down by a spouse.u r all soo brain washed it is sooo sad, it its also sad that u seem to want to contnue these little comments because they jus make me laugh harder each day, so thnx for brightening my day .ciao!! :)
I'm sorry, but that's garbage! Straight garbage. I have NEVER seen a man wistle at a woman wearing hijab. I have NEVER heard of or seen any of myfriends trying to hit on or randomly pick up a girl wearing hijab. I was not always a muslim so i know. When the boys go "hunting" we aint looking for hijabi girls. We was looking for girls that put out, and those girls don't look they puttin out. That = waste of time you feel me? The girls that are "advertising" were the ones that got our attention!!!
i've seen guys hit on muslim girls. trust me my freinds think that my best friend who is a muslim is very beautiful. They lo0ve the fact that she's covered makes ger unique and leaves a little mystery. and they are very americanised.
ya , u probably brainwashed them also.and its spelled muppet. These same men who say they like women wearing the hijab. Are the same ones cheating on their wives with other women. They just dont want other men looking at their wives.
=-[ i'll mkae du'a for you, you really shouldnt make a gross generalization about Muslim men.... ya ur right I'm sure some Muslim men do do that, and shame on them! I hope they get what they deserve! And also, shame on a Muslim man is who forces their wife or their daughter to wear Hijab or Ni'quab, it's a sin...
mashalla ur beautiful

Conservative Catholics have a thing similar to hijab, a scarf worn to attend mass, though not outside of that context today. I'm curious about the purpose of hijab. My understanding is that it's a modesty issue, the idea being that it's immodest for women to show their hair publicly, and/or that it's a sign of submission to God (like Catholics). Is it both? And if it's a modesty issue, what are the rules? Is it supposed to be worn at all times, around spouses and close family, or just in public?

I'm a Catholic Christian female. I have no intention of converting to Islam. I find the long skirts or loose pants and long sleeved blouses with high necklines to be practical & beautiful. The headscarf styles are beautiful too. That's just my perspective as an outsider to your religion & culture.

CONT'D It's sad that so many Christians today are weak in faith, but I do not judge them becasue it is not my place. I just wanted to try and clear it up that covering is not required by God to be a Christian or lead a good life. If anyone has any questions/ problems with this please show me the respect I show you. :)
kittycatcarley 1 year ago
CONT'D required of us becasue it is impossible. It is impossible for us to be perfect, and to even try is a slap in the face of God's gift. Through Jesus only are we saved, not through works, and that is why most of us don't cover - it is simply not required of Christians. What is required of us is to believe - that is all. We strengthen our beliefs by praying, though it is not required. We show our love of god by obeying his commandments to love and respect, but it is not required. CONT'D
kittycatcarley 1 year ago
@kittycatcarley You sound foolish, how is praying not a requirement in Christianity. What????? Mary covered herself as well. Christianity is made up of soooo many contradictions by man, this is why ur confused.
99whynot99 1 year ago

99whynot99 1 year ago

MohammedTheBabyRaper 7 months ago
@MohammedTheBabyRaper First off, your name is ridiculous. No matter if ur belief is different that is just ignorant and intolerant to have that name as ur posting on Muslim videos. Furthermore, The Ten Commandments was before The Koran, just as many others commandments God has instructed man to do and not to do. Ur agrument is very irrelevant to what I stated to someone earlier, but once again so-called Christians want to take away from what God has commandment about not having images of him.
99whynot99 7 months ago
@MohammedTheBabyRaper Cont. and not to have any God but him hence, (Jesus) . Jesus was a prophet a man that God (Allah in Arabic language) chosen to deliver that message he conveyed to us. I will never praise man but God. Ur agrument is irrelevant to what I said earlie to someone else's post bcuz u so-called Christian will always find loops around the truth to serve u. Muslims have rules to follow by God thru prophets telling us right from wrong. Read the Bible about not eating pigs but u do
99whynot99 7 months ago
I am a Christian and I respect all religions and spiritual views, but let me say one thing: no one knows if Mary covered or not becasue it is not in the Bible. Nuns cover their hair becasue they take the extreme literal version of the Bible and I respect their decision to do so. However, that is not what Christianity is about. Christianity is simply the belief in Jesus as God. The actions that define a Christian are simply to love and respect others and believe in Jesus. Nothing else is CONT'D
kittycatcarley 1 year ago
@kittycatcarley a lot of stuff isn't mentioned in the bible and mary did go covered. christianitity is not belief in jesus as god, it's to believe that god manifested through jesus and to be crystalized into one with god through christ. jesus is not god, i'm sory. he was just a prohet as muhammad(pbuh), naoh, abraham, moses, isaiah, jacob, issac, and whoever else that was a prophet i the bible. you people get on my nerves with your foolishness. los s.c. 29010
ambersassy168 1 year ago
@ambersassy168 Whaaaat??? Jesus was a crystallized God? I don't think so! I think I know my faith better than any Muslim, I won't discuss that with you. Jesus is my God, if you have something against that, I really couldn't care less, but I hope he blesses you and I hope one day you might realize how special you are.
God love you :D

Stop spreading lies
theclownsemptytears 1 year ago
@yelloworangered I was reading what you wrote and I am just curious where you got your information from because I got mine from the Quran.
“O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not annoyed.” (Quran 33:59)
The reason muslim women cover themself is so their recognized for their brain not for their apperance. I ment no offense, peace!!.
theclownsemptytears 1 year ago
Orthodox Judaism requires women to cover their hair and dress modestly. Many wear wigs so they appear to be showing their real hair. As for Christian women, you are wrong. Images of Mary or the saints wearing medieval garb or what medieval artists thought people wore in the Middle East are NOT in any way required dress. The traditional habits of nuns were medieval dress that did not evolve. Vatican II ended them. Islam requires women to hide themselves or be uncovered meat as the iman said.
yelloworangered 1 year ago
@yelloworangered Also if I said anything wrong do correct me but I got this strictly from the Quran. Iam very open minded to new things so i'd love for you to explain your ideas with evidense.
P.S " Islam requires women to hide themselves or be uncovered meat as the iman said."
I want to ask you what imam said that and what are his sources.
P.S.S I am sorry for my bad grammer, Iam only fourteen.
Like I said I ment no offense and I do like to keep things peaceful.
Peace be upon you !!

It is of course rape of the dead.
Putnis1 1 year ago
@Putnis1 Excuse me but the Quran is more important than the hadith because hadith is what people gather not what God had sent down. Also where are the lines in the hadith were got this information.
P.S I doubt it said that in the hadith, even if so I bet you read out of context.
Please give me the source for your information so i can learn farther.
theclownsemptytears 1 year ago
@theclownsemptytears Source:- Hadiths, a good idea is to reseach and find the relevant hadiths. You doubt it exist... guess what, it there, along with another dirty hadith, that reduce women to nothing..
Hadith 525 - Mohammed said 'place a woman on all fours, and fatigue her... before ejaculating, following which you are to wash.
Your religion called mohammed (a beast) an prophet. The quran is just as low in morality, but the hadiths are the sayings and deeds of mohammed!
Putnis1 1 year ago
@Putnis1 Again you did not give the hadith name, neigther did you give me the direct source or lines from the hadith. No point of arguing with an a ignorant person. I read the Quran well and I also looked up the history behind certain lines. Some lines may not make since in hadith or Quran if you dont have the history behind it or if you mistranslate it. All the stuff your mentioning does not make sense and neigther was it writen in the Quran.
I hope you dont let ignorance cloud your heart!
theclownsemptytears 1 year ago
@theclownsemptytears I also suggest if certain things dont make sense you should go to the Mosque and ask questions. The things you mentioned are all false and wrong. I bet you didn't even read the Quran or hadith but got random lines from online. I really hope you learn instead of spreading ignorance. I will pray for you!!!
theclownsemptytears 1 year ago
@theclownsemptytears Your making assumptions, assuming(1) one wasn't a muslim. (2) one as no direct knowledge of islam.
Islam NOW make lots of sense, and I would advise you to look beyond your mosques and ask questions of islam and modammed. Outside islam is freedom, to live, feel and love, truely love. Everything I quoted is from the Tafsir, Hadith and quran, so it seems you are in deeper darkness than I, particularly in not knowing these hadiths or surahs. Do some reasearch!

Putnis1 1 year ago
@Putnis1 Also Beside Mohammed 's first wife and Ashia Mohammed married the others because they were either a widow or could not support herself. Mohammed truely loved all his wife and was a kind humble man. Do not compare Mohammed, the prophet to Hitler.
theclownsemptytears 1 year ago
@theclownsemptytears You really should answer the points, or at least attempt to, as your having difficulties telling the truth, i'll help you a little.
Now, Aisha didn't have children, because Mo' wasted her womb when he penetrated her when she was 9yrs, and he, 50 yrs old. Today we call that a rape, (she too young to give consent), and pedophilia, (he was a dirty old dog).
Regards to the widows and unsupported women. Mohammed murdered their husbands and forced many into marriage.

Further, muslims are leaving islam when the learn of the hadiths.

@Putnis1 Again you mistranslated those lines or you miscomprehend them, You probably took a line out of context and used for your advantage, I truely suggest you ask schoolar about Islam rather making up up your own assumptions.

@theclownsemptytears mis-transulated, really...
Volume 1, Book 5, Number 249:
Narrated Maimuna: Allah's Apostle performed ablution like that for the prayer but did not wash his feet. He washed off the discharge from his private parts and then poured water over his body. He withdrew his feet from that place (the place where he took the bath) and then washed them. And that was his way of taking the bath of Janaba.
And there is more....
Putnis1 1 year ago
@theclownsemptytears Volume 1, Book 5, Number 258:
Narrated 'Aisha:
Whenever mohammed took the bath of Janaba (sexual relation or wet dream) he asked for the Hilab or some other scent. He used to take it in his hand, rub it first over the right side of his head and then over the left and then rub the middle of his head with both hands.
Putnis1 1 year ago
@theclownsemptytears What about this...
Volume 1, Book 5, Number 267:
Narrated Muhammad bin Al-Muntathir:
on the authority of his father that he had asked 'Aisha (about the Hadith of Ibn 'Umar). She said, "May Allah be Merciful to Abu 'Abdur-Rahman. I used to put scent on Allah's Apostle and he used to go round his wives, and in the morning he assumed the Ihram, and the fragrance of scent was still coming out from his body."

@theclownsemptytears Ohh, mohammed had the strenght of 30 men!
Volume 1, Book 5, Number 268:
Narrated Qatada:
Anas bin Malik said, "The Prophet used to visit all his wives in a round, during the day and night and they were eleven in number." I asked Anas, "Had the Prophet the strength for it?" Anas replied, "We used to say that the Prophet was given the strength of thirty (men)." And Sa'id said on the authority of Qatada that Anas had told him about nine wives only (not eleven).
Putnis1 1 year ago
@theclownsemptytears It seems, all those wives increase the risk of sexually transmitted diseases!!!
Volume 1, Book 5, Number 269:
Narrated 'Ali:
I used to get emotional urethral discharge frequently. Being the son-in-law of the Prophet I requested a man to ask him about it. So the man asked the Prophet about it. The Prophet replied, "Perform ablution after washing your organ (penis)."
mohammed - the sexual doctor!

@theclownsemptytears You read the quran, and i read the quran and hadiths.
Putnis1 1 year ago

Mimimariah12 1 year ago 14
@Mimimariah12 How can you say that make up doesn't lead to rape? If seeing a woman's leg or elbow leads to rape, how is it possible that doing something explicitly to be attractive such as wearing make up doesn't lead to rape?
yelloworangered 1 year ago
@Mimimariah12 Whilst wearing makeup may not be Haram, It is frowned upon to bring the amount of attention to yourself that makeup does. I think you know that. When we practice our Din we should stop looking for loopholes that allow us to do as we wish. We don't have to be Muslim to do what we want to do! Also, there is much said about the plucking of eyebrows. We should ask Allah to help us come closer to the correct manner rather than Take what we want and leave what we dont.
REASONINFUSION 10 months ago

SMH

@saalihah so i wanna know more about the relationship between hijab and modesty... the more i guess philosophical sense to it

the hijab is fashion not religion.
Im sure the first humans didnt wear a hijab.
in islam if u dont wear hijab the men rape u just to proov that not wearin a hijab causes rape. self fufilling prophecies. and thats what islam is.
adios.
oshea1111able 1 year ago
@oshea1111able where are you getting your information? If a man is muslim he wudn't rape a woman because it is against islam... doing so would make them unreligious! unless ofcourse like every human being the regret doing so, change, repent and make up for it.
Noranapps 1 year ago
@oshea1111able However, let me ask you that question... i think you;'re a guy i can't tell by the name/ if u're a gurl jus use guy common sense... but would you check out a girl who's body is in a bikini or a girl who's body you cannot even see? Let's get logical hereand if a guy wants to
Noranapps 1 year ago
@Noranapps men will find a women in a bikini attractive because its natural. a women in a hijab is just as attractive because they have a mystique about them, men know theres a women underneath, but its taboo. both sexy
oshea1111able 1 year ago
@oshea1111able Now I live in a community where there are both hijabis and non hijabis. I myself am one of the non hijabis so far, but those skirt chasers, the guys who want 2 get in ur pants etc. always stay dirty and so are their methods, my Hijabi friends have nothing happen to them like that, no guy tries with them because they know they're intention, myself and my friends who don't wear it, allways end up being in those awkward situations, cheated, decieved etc..
Noranapps 1 year ago
@oshea1111able you are talking about the sick men waiting for a chop across the corner of the street, these guys will hit on anything that walks. But for the guys at school, at work etc. the guys who want to get in ur pants, just wanna play you, jus wanna flirt, these guys know a hijabi's intention and if informed will most likely not approach her. Plus I've never met a guy who finds face and hands so attractive, when he's got a half naked girl right in front of him.
Noranapps 1 year ago
@Noranapps like i said why should you have to change your life to accomodate these people, women are attracted to men but they dont harass them in such ways, well maybe on rare occasions. give them what for if they get on your nerves. fight indignant behaviour. dont victimise the perpetraitor by saying its not his fault, but the womens for wearing shorts otherwise this behavior will continue to b acceptible.
oshea1111able 1 year ago
@oshea1111able yes but there's allways the argument of "why would you show it if you don't want me to stare", and eventualy this starring creates attraction, and one day one man is going to not the the "screw off" remark and become a friend or boyfriend. Both relationships with no base, other than the hot girl i chill with cuz she makes me seem cool, or the gurl i'm gunna get down on.
Noranapps 1 year ago
@oshea1111able like honestly TNAs and tights with short shirts, and how women have become such materials now a days. Not everyman thinks like that, but trust me, I've allways been the tomboy and I know how most men think. & not every girl wants to be a slut. We choose to wear hijab because we don't live for getting actions, for showing off our beauty, for attention and acceptance. Honestly there's much more to life than that.
Noranapps 1 year ago
@oshea1111able But back to my point, women aren't forced to do it, and sisters not wearing the Hijab don't get raped, i come from the middle east, when there is rape, it's rape girls with scarfs and no scarfs. People don't just make gangs to target non hijabis, but when there is harassement it's usualy to the girl wearing the short skirt.
Noranapps 1 year ago
@Noranapps i agree with that totally. rape is the sin of man not women, they should control thier urges. its only natural for women to protect themselves when thier is no protection that they can rely on.
oshea1111able 1 year ago
@oshea1111able rape a woman... he's just some next thug he'll rape any woman even if she's older than him, however if he had the choice between a young one nd an old one, I'm pretty sure he would go for the younger lookin one... jus the same as the one he finds attractive and another he can't even tell if she is or not... last point, hijab is not only 2 protect a woman from getting rapped, there are much deeper meanings 2 it
Noranapps 1 year ago

Im not trying to make you angry but that comment was totally unnecessary.
nasehaC 2 years ago
Alright so wearing hijab is a protection, is a way of being yourself not a material.... But how can on have the mindstate of wearing it for allah? I mean everytime of reasons I think I should wear it is selfrespect, not being rated by guys, ppl lookin at yu for who you are, but what about God? is it that your beauty is for him and your husband only or what is it that makes hijab for god and not simply something that helps in life as I have been able to see it?
Noranapps 2 years ago
God sees people for their inward piety and how they profess Faith. Any outward expression of faith such as wearing hijab is a social construct. Good intentions come from Faith; clothes do not make the person, God makes the person.
MacadamiaNut76 2 years ago
I don't understand if you're saying Hijab does not relate to fate, or the exact purpose of that comment. Are you saying that a girl in a music video with her but all over the place is the same as a girl who is well covered and has self respect as long as they are both as good on the inside?
If it were a social construct then it wud be a damn good one, making women have selfrespect, being of higher value, and looked at as people not bodies. But it is an inward expression as well, if it comes...
Noranapps 2 years ago
Too many people judge a measure of one's faith by their outward appearances rather than how well they live the virtues of God. For instance, there are wrong-minded Muslims who judge a woman's piety by the hijab she wears. In fact a woman is scorned and ostracised if she chooses not to wear hijab. Yet she continues worshipping and remaining faithful to Faith. In the US, wearing a hijab is a matter of personal choice that is not forced upon them by their male relatives or by Sharia.
MacadamiaNut76 2 years ago
Definatly if you're wearing Hijab does not make you a good muslim/ nor does not wearing the hijab make yu a bad muslim as only judge can see you for who you really are. And I never said that women who don't weare it are outcasts, because I don't weare it yet! & I follow all the 5 pilars ilhamdullah. But Hijab is mentioned more than once in the quraan. Personaly I think it will strengthen my Eman, less guys will hit on me, I'll be less obsessive over beauty, and favour God over beauty & selfimag
Noranapps 2 years ago
Plus I live in canada and no one is making the hijab choice for me, only I am. & I'm finding myself closer to god by simply thinking of giving up my clothes, fashion, and image (what people think of me) for God. It's inner Jihad, because Jihad isn't simply physical fighting as islam is a peaceful religion , but it's simply any struggle for God, and struggling within yourself and changing for the better with intentions of fulfilling God's words is a type of Jihad within itself.
Noranapps 2 years ago
In Senegal, it is acceptable for unmarried women wear an open hijab that displays the face. Married women wear niqaab with gloves as a personal preference or at the suggestion of her husband. This is an example of how wearing hijab is based on customs in one specfic country.
MacadamiaNut76 2 years ago
I don't think the quraan mentions covering the face, the hand and the legs. I personally don't believe in niqab. But as I made my point earlier, then the woman is wearing it for reasons other than what I have mentioned, and only god knows if it is to be looked at as faith or modesty or simply blind obedience. I don't believe in Hijab as a custom, nor a fashion as it is now in my home country, it is simply for god and a healthier way of life.
Noranapps 2 years ago
Good intentions to carry out good deeds is pleasing in the sight of the Almighty. A woman who wears hijab and niqaab with good intentions to adhere to Faith is change for the better.
MacadamiaNut76 2 years ago
and doing it with the intention to please God just like any simple daily task could be taken with the intention and for the sake of god can be regarded as a godly thing, which definatly makes the world change for better. But again, it's not for you neither I to judge, only god can judge whether an act is to please him or for other reasons.
Noranapps 2 years ago
for God, and not for parents and not to fit in society better. You can simply be walking down the street or studying-> social construct, but doing it for god is faith. It makes the woman less obsessive over her beauty and more concentrated on better things,Honestly you must read a lot, and hear many Hijabi women and even scholars speak about Hijab to understand the inward and more Godly part to it, I did not understand before but now I have a better sense... but would like to hear more
Noranapps 2 years ago
Wearing hijab as protection is meant as a symbol of Faith. However, the social interpretation of such often means obedience in more socially conservative countries such as Oman and Saudi Arabia. There women literally interpret the Quoran with strict adherence to Sharia which dictates social customs. In many instances that means complete coverage from head to toe. Older family members feel comfortable completely covered because that's how they interpret social customs from the Quoran.
MacadamiaNut76 2 years ago
yup that's true people do that... but going back to my point hijab is main to be faithful rather than social nor traditional, but again many things that the quraan tells us to do are things that are meant to create order and a better society and create us better within ourselves, for god and for a better living which is all again for god...
Noranapps 2 years ago
MacadamiaNut76 2 years ago
Yeah but it's necessary and is an act of worship. To me someone who knows about Hijab and reasons for it and does not wear even if they have strong faith is just like a philosopher muslim who definatly believes in God and knows the five pilars but chooses not 2 pray, because they believe that the faith is simply everything. So yes Hijab does matter in faith. I mean it's not just about believing, if you really do have stronge faith then yu wud follow the words of God(in quran)telling yu 2 wear it
Noranapps 2 years ago 2
So does that mean Canadians and American muslimahs are not following the Faith because they choose not to wear hijab? I beg to differ. We have the luxury to debate the aspects of wearing hijab because we live in open societies. The challenge to all the Faithful is adhering to all Five Pillars, as it is part of personal jihad. We make sincere repentance in supplication to the Almighty to remove defects in character. And it is the Almighty who knows best in all matters.
MacadamiaNut76 2 years ago
Buddy, I live in Canada, and you don't understand how many canadian women wear hijab, even converts of all races! & If society is preventing you from wearing it then I guess that's your value, but if my society was preventing me from wearing it, then that's one extra reason why I should wear it, to stop discrimination and inequality in my society and because I'd favour God over fitting in. Like I'm a lifeguard, I would either quit my job to wear it or wear it during work despite the outcomes.
Noranapps 2 years ago 2
Now going back to what i said before, does not wearing hijab make you a bad muslim? Umm I'm still not wearing it, I'm still planning on it asap and when i'm ready (inshallah this ramadan). & I pray ilhamdullah and everything, following the pilars, I even pray in locker rooms after practice even if people stare at me. But fighting for hijab is a more faithful jihad. Faith is levels and I think Hijab is a higher one, but btw everytime a woman is underdressed and a man sees, BOTH get sins.
Noranapps 2 years ago
I don't know excatly why you keep argueing. I'd like for you to read and understand the quraan if you haven't already. Whether to wear hijab or not is your choice, but answering your question which was my first intention Hijab is a faithful action not simply a social construct. If you'd like to continue this discussion then please message me, because the owner of this video is probably getting too many e-mails, and we're getting off topic of the video + I want people to respond to my 1st comment
Noranapps 2 years ago
As-salaamu alaykum.

and why are you claiming she is wrong to do so? we don't know exactly what is right n wrong. you cannot prove anywhere in quran that wearing earings while wearing hijab is the wrong.. its our intentions that matter and you dont know hers. just stop i dont wear earings with hijab but i dont have any reason to tell someone that its wrong.. stop making the Islam a bickering match please its not a good look on us to the world.

as salaamu alaikum... insha allah this doesnt reach anyone in a manner that it oppresses them... my viewpoint on the matter would be that a portion of the ear would show by wearing earrings, and if they do than that is inappropiate seeing as though the ears are to be completely covered

MiddleEasternPeace 2 years ago
emadsayyah5 I gave u a clear explanation of why we wear hijab as you seemed confused as to why we wear it.
MiddleEasternPeace 2 years ago
no they cant control their their sexual desires , cuz if they see a woman covered up, that makes them want then more, cuz of what they call " the hunt ". a hijab doesnt offer protection,it actually increases more sexual desires for men,
emadsayyah5 2 years ago
lol wat a load.
so u telling me u see a woman covered (wearing a scarf and jilbab) and u want her more then the girl walkin past u wit her titties hangin out and thong on scene. u silly little liar. Or perhaps thats ur own personal opinion. other men im sure, will choose differently.

ok.. what a come back indeed.
if u must know i wish i never had 2 say anythin to u.but u just doesnt make any sense by saying, covering up increases a mans attraction to u. u try completely covering urself and see if a man likes u.
MizShinobi1 2 years ago
then apparently dear u need to learn more , its called the hunt, wen a man sees a woman all covered he wants her more cuz its an adventure for him to see wats underneath the clothing. now u can disagree all u want but it still doesnt change the real fact of what i told u.
emadsayyah5 2 years ago
Well ive had my time with and without hijab, and have ALOT less attention thankfully. so uve been proven wrong. lol ur nuts btw. seriously we'r laughin at u 4 thinkin that. thats y every tv show amongst other things, always teach a girl to show a littl less if he wants 2 get her man excitd. if what ur sayin is tru den every magazine would have covered women on, as opposed 2 bikinis. hooligan

I'm sorry, but that's garbage! Straight garbage. I have NEVER seen a man wistle at a woman wearing hijab. I have NEVER heard of or seen any of myfriends trying to hit on or randomly pick up a girl wearing hijab. I was not always a muslim so i know.
