Has anyone else noticed the reoccuring theme in these old cartoons where someone has to be quiet...OR ELSE <.< and they always run out of the house to make loud noises. Tom & Jerry did it, when Droopy was a sheriff the two bandits did it...Actually, in that Droopy cartoon the gray bandit also had a stick of dynamite on his tongue that he stretched all the way outside AND the little dog was fed a bottle of milk and had to burp. I dunno why I'm noticing this 15 years later. LOL

4:00-6:14, The best part of the cartoon. Running back and fourth out of the house, screaming in pain, laughing, etc, just to keep the bear from hearing all the loud noises. The biggest running gag there is, LITERALLY! Too bad it ends at 6:14. LOL!

My sister and I used to wait for this cartoon to show up on Sunday morning during the Tom and Jerry show. That "BELCH" is clssic and still funny which says something given the South Park and Family Guy standards of today. You know whomever dubbed that in to the cartoon had to have won some office burping contest. It must have been fun putting these cartoons together. I can't believe it's been 60 years!

Joe Bear was my dad as I was growing up. Now, though, my niece and nephew can make all the noise it's possible to make, and he just lets it go. He even once strongly suggested I should apologize to my nephew after I yelled at him for making noise.

BTW just FYI the little dog is NOT Droopy.  Tex Avery himself said he did not want the character of Droopy to be painted as such a vicious character, so he made a substitute dog for this cartoon.

@MysteryGuyler According to my Tom and Jerry and Droopy dvd collections Tex Avery kept trying to come up with a funnier way to do the same gag! Having the bear be a noisy loudmouth is different from the sheriff telling Droopy to guard the safe, I feel the bear is funnier then the sheriff but it shows how Tex would try different approches to the same gag!
