the way I see it folks....YES needs new talent in the band that has the ability to do what the old YES did to keep the YES brand alive forever......can't just let YES music die. I want my kids and their kids and their kids to go to a YES show a hundred years from now. You get what I'm saying? YES is a living entity, no one man is YES....perhaps Chris is...but you get what I'm saying. Benoit David is totally awesome...He IS the man for the job. I'm very happy to hear his voice.
I give some credit to Benoit David ; he does a fair job. But one thing is for sure , Jon Anderson was , is and will be the heart and soul of Yes . Sooner than later Jon and Rick will return to Yes , their own true roots .
RUBBISH! Sounds like Buggles / Drama Yes but on a very bad day. All this airfield nonsense. Great respect to Horn on all his other stuff, especialy Seal but this stuff is just so predictable and pointless, Roll on Anderson,Bruford,Wakeman RaBIN.
@chinesefake I agree....the progressiveness is missing. Perhaps they should record on the original Fragile sound board and keep it ANALOG and less Digital.
This album is just Drama all over. Downes & Horne back I don't get it. Can't Benoit David write a song.I had to get the album to keep my collection complete. Just like Drama it won't get alot of playing time. Long live Jon Anderson the creative genius of Yes.
Couldn't agree with you more Bordeauxccs well stated. Also, it's good to see a band that changes with time. The bands from the 70's that couldn't change with time have, for the most part faded away.
Isn't that Trevor Horn in the hat? The "Hollywood Movie Mogul" - This seems to be a continuation of the Buggles themes. Elstree, Video Killed the Radio Star... nostalgia. I like the song, enjoyed it in 1980 and in the Buggles release. Not sure about the connection to Yes. The instrumental section of the song is filled with airplane noises.
The song is ok but This-Is-Not-Yes, this is AC radio stuff
Yes died a very long time ago in 1980
They are SO desperate for money that they're releasing whatever, they're too old, Howe is a calamity playing these days, a sad joke from the guitar powerhouse he used to be.
Yet they dare "attempting" to recreate the Drama vibe, what a joke... They are SO desperate! and they simply SUCK.
How sad the slow ending through the years is turning for one of the best progressive rock bands ever.
@drkam6 Steve and Chris are still very good musicians. Guitar, bass and keyboard players get better with time. Not he same with singers and drummers which age does affect their craft. After seeing then live a month ago here in NYC area , understood why they want to keep the ship sailing with or without Jon
I invited a couple of friends that weren't into Prog , but still like other types of good music and have seen 100s of other acts, and they were impressed (told me 1 of their best shows ever)
OK song - if they build on the "Drama" feel (which I'm guessing they will) then I'll be happy, it's still a great album after all these years. Nice that Benoit is not mimicking Jon Anderson anymore - looking forward to their return to Copenhagen in December
There's two kinds of Yes fans: The first: The people who says that they love Yes but they have heard only the 70's stuff... The second, like me, that love Yes Music in all over the years from the first album to Fly from Here... Yes is not a single person, Yes are not Anderson or Wakeman, Yes are YES! BRAVO YES FOR THIS ALBUM!
Thanks viberato, to any one else out there, this appears on buggles 2nd album in almost exactly the same form. Chris, Alan and Steve,(especially steve, my hero),why? Where's the adventure? Get creating or just chuck it.
Going to see a band called Yes Italia, in Scotland,in September, performing the whole of " Yessongs" at a small gig, and We are actually looking forward to that more than the SECC in November. Chris, you stung the yanks in '81 dont expect an easy ride in the UK .......AGAIN!!!!
The Trev "cameo" just says get it right up yeez with a vengeance.
After the Anderson Wakeman fiasco in Edinburgh, I wont be in a hurry to see any of them again.
In all honesty, after what we,as fans, have enjoyed over the past 39 years, brilliant brilliant music, this is the end, and I am sick to my stomach, literally,to admit it.

Not so thrilled about this YES album. This has to be one of the weakest ever title songs. The Buggles did it better.Listen to it. Speaking of which this seems a really understated production from the maestro Trevor Horn. Not impressed.
Now waiting in hope for the Anderson Wakeman Rabin album.........maybe.
This is defintely a case of the " Emperors new clothes" looking at all the blogs.Perhaps waiting 10 years was just too long. Ian Jones' Karnataka do this sort of stuff better now than YES.
@Moshugaani Sounds pretty "proggy" to me. And have you listened to the rest of the album? Granted, it sounds more like Drama-period Yes (as one would expect with Horn and Downes involved) than 70s Yes, but it's definitely full-on progressive rock.
Trevor Horn is the "mogul" with the cigar. And let's face it, though the band is still churning they ain't much to look at any more so that was probably a good call! =)
So thrilled that Yes has released a new album - after 10 years!
The thing that puts the biggest smile on my face however, is Benoit David. From a young Montreal man who got a mysterious phone call from Chris Squire, to be the front man of the Best Band In The World. I am SO thrilled for you, Benoit!
You are now truly a legend in the world of Yes. The young man who was plucked out of anonymity, to be the voice of Yes.
@WitWonFilms1 YES... I agree Benoit has made his way into the band (and I am A big Anderson fan). I saw them in March and the energy was awesome!! I'm going to see them Sat. in Nashville and I can't hardly wait
I love the new 24-minute "Fly From Here" release, but I have to admit that I thought the guy in the video was going to climb to the top of the building, jump off, and turn into a raven (ala Owner of a Lonely Heart). Yes is best expressed in the music, not in videos.......

This is not a horrid album...it's a half step above TRULY horrid outings, such as GTR, Mike & Mechanics, Asia...and the last Yes album without JON.
This mediocre song would have been better with Jon's singing. (Side 2 is truly a snoozer, though...)
I predict the demise of Yes, as with Genesis & Ray Wilson...and Ray was a far better singer & frontman than this pudgy, vest-wearing, short haired, bleating Canadian tribute singer. YMMV...
Hmm ... I never thought I'd say that, being a Yes fan since 1976 ...
Guys, video wise, you have to do better than just "Good YouTube standard". And I'd prefer Yes genuine music, not The Buggles with only slight additions of true Yes style.
I am fair, so: No thumbs down for this video - but sadly no thumb um, either.
What a brilliantly terrible video. Very Yes. I love it. And it seems to feature a fair bit of the peak district, which is just down the road from here. I literally would not have to fly far from here to see the locations.
