The whites left because the blacks reverted to the animal like behaviour they are built to exibit, they turn into savages, robbing, raping, attacking innocent people when they get control of anywhere, look at the shit state of every african country both financially and from a point of view of stability for proof of my point....
is this documentary claiming that, specifically, the City Methodist Church refused to allow blacks? I'm curious to know the source/proof of that claim. Can you cite?
and then again--as "fair" as we try to be, the stats are striking: when Hatcher took office and the majority of population became black, up rose the crime. So, they got what they wanted, but they let it go to shambles.
What kills me about Gary? The stinking pollution from the blast furnaces, sinter plants and coke plant. All that filthy poisoned pollution. And the people of Gary are breathing it everyday.
Global warming? Start with the steel mills and coal power plants.
Stop with the racist remarks. Every one of us is in the most corrupt country on the planet. Start focusing on our true problems. Not race.
Just like Detroit: blacks move in with attendant increases in rape, murder and robbery. Whites move out. City goes to ruin and abandon. This cycle is also repeated in many other cities.
Thanks for watching. The whole film is an experiment to make you ask that very question. Whites have blamed blacks for Gary's demise, and now it's time to address those issues and see things from both perspectives: Did the city crumble because of the blacks, or the white's unwillingness to integrate? The film isn't perfect, but I tried to tie it all together in part 3.
@260video No, everywhere in the world that there are Blacks in the majority, there are much higher levels of crime, lower employment, basically, the place falls to shit because they are still apes in a humanoid body, this sounds bad, but it is the truth..
@nowaveshow Because blacks are usually destructive less evolved and unintelligent, they have nothing other than cheap labour to offer whites. Wherever blacks live in the majority unchecked, trouble, poverty and crime increases, just like in Africa (see the similarities between the two?)
@vorgon303 That's about it. Except the corruption of the increasingly Leftist, racist policies in Gary had much to do with it - a fact that the narrator, for some reason, has seen fit to carefully ignore. Also ignored is how the "Black Washington DC" had prosperous black people in the 1970s, but is filled with poverty-stricken, jobless blacks in 2010. And of course Michael Jackson is mocked for leaving - without noting that "white flight" apparently involved plenty of black people too.
The title 'Ghost town' inplicates a documentary about a city that's abandoned, and one expect to see rundown buildings, and maybe a glimpse inside the closed church and so forth.
All in all its a great historical introduction, but it could have been spiced up if part 1 had been about Gary in present day and then part 2, 3 ect worked its way backward down through time.
lmfao thats where they fucked up letting the niggers in

When the narrator says "it was becoming the blackest city in america", the music changes quite a bit to a almost sinister tone. Why is this?

@nowaveshow
seriously? Maybe because when blacks became the majority, the city devolved into chaos and crime, and became the murder capital of the world.
Call it racism if you want, but facts is facts. And the proof of ANYBODY's life is in the fruit of their life.

Mayor George Chacaris' name is mispronounced in the video. The correct pronunciation is "cha-chair-us" He was also referred to as "Mayor Cha-Cha".

Is there a part 3? This is a excellent intro to the history of Gary. I can't believe it's been up for over a month and no comments have been made!
