@AroundTheCorner1 He's a SPARTAN not a poet. SPARTANs are trained pretty much from the age of 6 to be ruthless killing machines. They are taught to speak frankly and quickly in order to better communicate, give orders and generally do military vernacular. The more "hyper lethal" rated SPARTANs like Six and Master Chief rarely speak at all without reason, probably because it is second nature to them.

God I hate Reach's ending. At the end of Halo 3's Sierra 117 I still had 2 cruisers left, and the rescue pelican killed both - making this whole scene so incredibly moronic. Added on are all the BS novels, movies, ect. wherein there are other surviving Spartans, but the one Spartan that's just as Bad Ass as John-117 ends up diced to bits when by now I've killed tons of energy sword wielding elites (and don't even get me started on how stupid it is that S-B312 has no name yet everyone else does).

Noble 6 surviving wouldn't have fit to the general mood of Reach. Of course we all know, that everything will be fine because of Master Chief, but right after the Fall of Reach, humanity seems to be doomed, 700 million people have just died, a large portion of the fleet destroyed and humanities arms industry crippled. And without a really lucky spartan and some troops doing orbital shock dropping, the Covenant would have won the war.

@9627122 Read the books and find the jerk store grunt. John-117 Was abducted by the UNSC at the age of 6 for the SPARTAN 2 program. He single handedly beat down an ODST at the age of 12 i believe it was. He survived a live fire excersize on Reach with the ODSTs. Fought on Reach and on a spacestation above Reach where he lost Sam. He than took Kelly, who was seriously wounded after a battle, into a pelican and rode onto the Pillar of Autumn where they then jumped into slipspace to Halo.

We never see him die and in once of the Legendary Edition developer videos they say he's still alive, but in the final part of the game you can find Jun's body next to a fence. So take that as you will. You can either say he died or that he went to Onyx with Dr. Halsey and the other surviving Spartans.
