  • @ROCKADULTOX

Ofcourse Jim was not a shaman in the literal sense. But why are you mixing music with politics? Noone "took" R&B from anyone; it's called art you know, people always have and always will influence each other; no matter what label or "genre" you put on art it always remains on a higher level than human disputes.

  • @celebrant9 You are right, I was just drunk typing.

    sorry for being an ass!

Thank you for being courteous =P

  • @ROCKADULTOX It's cool, man :)

But take it easy with the booze or you might end up like MrMojoRisin :p

  • your all fools.....a ship of fools......

  • there will never be another one

    Like you

    RIP Morrison

  • Jim was such a beautiful man his words the way he thought his voice his looks were killer

he's truly missed and there will never be another one like you there will never be another one who can do the things you do

  • This song is the ultimate symbol of what the doors were; Jim was a modern-day shaman, and I'm saying that in all seriosity (I'll provide explanation if asked for), and the Doors were, ultimately a blues-fueled rockband. This track voices all of Jim's pain within this world, and the soul of all of them on their respectvie instruments.

  • there isnt even a single artist now, whose lyrics can trip u like this

  • ΠΡΑΤΤΩ ΚΑΤΑ ΔΑΙΜΟΝΑ ΕΑΥΤΟΥ - ACTING ACCORDING TO THE INNER DEAMON. Acting according to what feels right with my consequence. It's a quote from Socrates, Plato tells us about it (Plato's Sybosium 203).

  • @hornyunic0rn The lyrics from the song "Universal Mind".

Also, keep in mind the inscription on his tomb "ΚΑΤΑ ΔΑΙΜΟΝΑ ΕΑΥΤΟΥ", written in Greek. It was engraved many years after his mysterious death (nobody ever saw him dead).

All these, show the unquestionable intelligence, a true artist who swings between reality and imagination, who managed to overcome his own self and feeled the universal mind!

  • @hornyunic0rn hahhahaah! OK! I'll try to make a translation for you! In the land of the lost angels, will he be writing poems?

Morrison seeked the Doors connecting visible and invisible! He came in contact with Philosophy. He got inspired by the native American shamans, the Wiccans, the English poet William Blake, Nietzshe and the Ancient Greek philosophers.

  • I always feel like this song is about Jim. "There will never be another one like you. There will never be another one who can do the things you do." There will never be another individual like Jim ever again.

  • "There will never be Another one like you" There will NEVER be another band like the DooRs or Jim MOrris0N

  • I want to play the guitar like Krieger, so I made a slide out of a brace I got from when I broke my thumb, and packing tape. It works pretty well. DIY rock and roll.

  • hey... necesito este poema subtitulado.. alguien ayuda...

    LARGA VIDA AL REY LAGARTO...

  • was jim was looking in the mirror wen he sang this song

  • Really underrated song

  • this reminds me of strip song

  • optical promise, you'll be dead to hell before i'm born, shure thing, the only solution isn't it amazing. HAVE A NICE BIG SLEEP JIM, I'LL SEE YOU THERE

  • I LOVE THE DOORS. got something to say?

  • ohhh yeaaaa =]

  • Great song

  • I feel proud of being only 14 and loving The doors with all my heart r.i.p jim morrison

When i die i want to be next to him listening to his beautiful guitar and amazing voice

  • @21lovefreak are you fucking retarted robby krieger played guitar for the doors not jim, or james douuglass morrison. LONG LIVE THE LIZARD KING

  • @21lovefreak Except that Jim didn't play the guitar. He played a little piano though, I don't know if it's OK for your fantasies :p

  • @celebrant9 he didn't even play a little piano, that was ray manzarek :) he didn't even know how to read notes but he did have the right influences & poetic capacities for his role in the band, obviously

  • @EkamSat1

Actually Jim DID play a litle piano; check this video youtube.com/watch?v=vqlEMmqZYfs

Just a little though! Nothing compared to Ray of course!!!

  • @EkamSat1 jim didnt play a little but he messed around with pianos

  • @EkamSat1 Linus played a little piano...

  • @21lovefreak el unico instrumento que jim sabia tocar eran las maracas y tenia una voz improsionante, y escriba las mejores letras de rock

  • @21lovefreak it's alright...listening to The Doors will send you on an amazing journey...I began listening when I was 14 as well. Sent me into The Beatles and Donovan and so much much more....

  • @21lovefreak cool but no one really cares what age you are its just a number...

  • @21lovefreak

I had the same, i'm 30 now and still have it.

  • @21lovefreak he fuckin' played morocco's meatheads

  • @neenerhd69 Morocco's? LMAO!

  • @21lovefreak right on !!!! i wish i had an open mind at that age. But yeah Jim Morrison believed that he wasn't musically inclined. His lyrics were "poetry". And he didn't even think he could sing!!!!!!! Robby Krieger was the guitarist. But Jim's voice was amazing we can all agree on that !!!!!!

  • @21lovefreak Im 15 and i love the doors. Dont comment shit like that i see it all over classic rock videos and its annoying as shit.

  • @21lovefreak

    freak....ever seen morrison playing guitar????

  • @21lovefreak

im only 89 an love the doors....its so incredible^^

  • @21lovefreak

Jim Morrison was also a peot. You should check out is books, he as 3. If you like his music you'll like his poetry.

  • @21lovefreak im glad that ur heading in the right direction with ur music influences but u couldnt posibly understand what "the doors" or many bands from that music era wanted to say, maybe when ur older i hope u dont let yourself be led astray :)

  • Jim, there will never, never, never be another one like you....

  • I love the doors <3

  • @420karen1

Beautiful sight to see, i'll think of you next time that beautiful time passes but only once otherwise all the beautiful people who come out to play won't get their turn feeling the beautiful stuff burn <3

  • @EvisceratorSquayle were have you been in m life <3 (:

  • cold grindin' grizzly bear jaws hot on your heels.....amazing stuff!

  • Is it possible to make love to someone's voice... cause if it is I'm gonna jump Jim Morrison's voice's bones!

  • Oh there'll never be another one like you babe

  • THumbs up if u wanted to hear this LIVE!

and a really Underrated doors Song.

  • u know why i love these guys so much. they can play all different music genres and still be one of the best at each of them. i tip my hat u sirs.

  • @cavs608

    Damn right!

  • @celebrant9 they were so seamless in with what each one contributed to what we Love, the smile on our face and the music of The Doors in our ears. Peace

  • i dont have one favourite doors song or album. Its too difficult.

  • What a bass line absolutely amazing!! I can honestly say I play this song over and over and over! There will never be another one like you.....

  • This album was terrible other than this song and Wishful Sinful. I've always thought this song was about Jim loosing his unborn son because of an abortion.

  • @jaysonvalentine After all his 'aventures', didn't he witnessed a lot of abortions ? Or are you particularly referring to the Patricia case ? I thought that he was not concerned by the baby.

  • Thank you for posting this! This song still goes through me like the first time I heard it. ♥

  • @8pengy You're welcome :) It goes through me like the first time I heard it too, it's just so great.

  • All their albums were great. Every single one, sounded like a different band- and each with hits.Very talented group

  • Most underrated and under appreciated Doors album. to me this album stands out a little more than the rest. Love the Doors

  • I could swear that I watched here a video from The Doors playing live this song, maybe from Critique but I can't remember

  • @softparade27 not in this album, the credits were Jim Morrison - Morrison/Krieger - Robby Krieger

  • This Is sooooooooo Beautiful i love it

  • 0 people are...wait, what?

  • the Epitamy of rock& roll!

  • He sings about the shaman who came in his head and people must understand that it's not possible to live in a 'normal' world with the soul of a shaman. Jim only could have made a start (born) when the shaman in his head is dead. That's my opinion

  • It's somewhat of a testament that out of 83K views, there is not one "dislike".

  • Best band ever, love The Doors more and more each time I listen to them,"there will never be another one like you"

  • @celebrant9 relating to the video description, the words/music was always credited to 'The Doors' not just Jim Morrison

  • @softparade27

Hey mate, you're quite right except the band decided to split the credits on "The soft parade".

  • Ce sont les meilleurs pour moi!

  • Greatest bands ever

    1. The beatles

    2.the doors

    3. Pink floyd

  • LETS JUST ALL AGREE THAT EVERY SONG SANG BY JIM MORRISON,

EVERY RIFF STRUMMED BY ROBBIE KRIEGER,

EVERY PIANO CHORD AND BASS RIFF PLAYED BY RAY MANZERICK,

AND EVERY DRUM BEAT HIT BY JOHN DENSMORE IS JUST THE FUCKING BEST.

EVERY DOORS SONG IS AMAZING IN IT'S OWN WAY.

EVERY ALBUMS IS DIVERSE IN ITS OWN WAY.

THEY WERE ALWAYS EXPERIMENTING AND THAT IS WHAT MAKES THEM A REAL GREAT BAND.

THE BEST EVER EARTH WILL WITNESS AND FOR THOSE WHO DON'T LISTEN ARE MISSING OUT ON WHAT MUSIC TRUELY IS...!!!

  • they are all my favorite albums.. and all my favorite songs.. but thats 'only me.'

  • Beautiful powerful song,'Play it brother', sure thing,,,amen Jimbo and the guys.

    The whole worlds a saviour,,

    Sean,Ireland.

  • such an underrated album

  • The greatest American band ever!.

  • @vereniki88 Επίσης το όνομα του συγκροτήματος προέρχεται από τις "Πύλες της Ενόρασης" ("The Doors of Perception") του Aldous Huxley. Από εκεί έρχεται και η αναφορά στον William Blake, όπως σωστά λες, με το έργο του "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell".

  • I gots the shaman blues dude!

  • there will never be another one... like Them

  • it almost seems like the doors made there own genre of music cause ive never heard of a band that plays blues, rock& roll, spanish, and i dont know what u would categorize the rest as. i just call it the doors genre

  • The album soft parade ...: one of the best albums ever !!!!! LOve & peace!!!

  • the Doorses succeed in giving always mock us different and almost ever discount also in smaller album as The soft parade, for other album partly underestimated, and is also for this that love them, the Doorses improve those they stay live however! thanks for the beautiful video.

  • LOL- "Optical promise. Bridesmaids."

  • This is one of my fave Doors songs but not one of my fave albums.

  • @lemurianchick

    I agree.

Personal favourite albums are "Strange days" and "LA woman". But I dig "Waiting for the sun" very much too.

  • @celebrant9 :But guess what? It's growing on me. I have been listening to cuts on it and I am getting into it! I appreciate that they tried a different sound. It pisses me that they got dissed for it.

  • @celebrant9 HAHHA its like its a lil flustrating to pick cause you dont wana diss the other albums cause they are alll sooooooo ammmaaazzziiingggllyy brilliant and wonderful, breathtaking music so close to the otherside. theyre music is the doors of perception, and they open the doors and show us things we discover from their music. its gnarly

  • @lemurianchick yes, my thoughts exactly

  • @JordanTBoehm : Guess what? I wrote that five months ago, listened more than once to "The Soft Parade," and I think it was unfairly criticized. Just because it's a totally different style doesn't mean it was a bad album. I think it's awesome now!

  • @lemurianchick I think Soft Parade is a very misunderstood album, It wasn't meant to be rock or Psychadelic, Is it one of their best definitely not but it's way better then the Post-Morrison albums, I think the Songs Soft Parade, Touch Me, Tell All The People,Shaman's Blues,Wild Child are all incredible songs and makes this album a worthy buy. Not too mention, get the 40th yr anniversary and Whiskey and Mystics and Men, GREAT SONG

  • @smurfman95 : I agree with you. I changed my opinion of it, actually. I actually LISTENED to the whole enchilada, not just a song here or there. The horns created a negative impression in some fans' minds because they probably thought it wasn't "hard" enough. And who cares? (By the way, Janis Joplin had similar criticism when she included a brass section on one of her later albums).

  • most likely Jim is talking about the Shaman that followed him his whole life, a reincarnated indian who was sent to follow him slavishly everywhere he went.

  • There will never, never, never be another one like Jim.

  • hell yeah.

  • Great guitarist. Love When the music's over, too

  • John, Ray, Jim and Robbie have opened "the doors of perception" for all of us; if you do not wish to enter, then you should simply FUCK OFF.

    Thank you :)

    hahahahahaaa.....classic.....agreed...

  • out on the meadows while you run the fields......sure thing, bridesmaids, the only solution isn't it amazing? lament to Pam during one of their many seperations?

  • big doors fan but this is my all time fave track - so much soul, so much pain

  • @kingofmars68

"So much soul, so much pain"

    Amen, bro.

It's obvious, although I'm not really sure to whom is Morrison adressing this plea; most of us assume that he means himself but it doesn't really make any sense then - or does it?

  • @celebrant9 its addressed either to pamela or that women he dated after highschool which broke his heart and mad ehim want to move around...she actually wound up watching him on t.v. from a trailer park....

  • HI! THIS IS MONTGOMERY SHRAPP! HAVE A LOOK ON OUR SONG "JIM" (DEDICATED TO JIM MORRISON&THE DOORS)!

  • Great song!!!

  • @celebrant9 i istoria epanalamvanetai

  • ne sí yes all right viva

  • @vereniki88

Έτσι αντιλαμαβάνομαι ως πικρό τον στίχο "I'm the freedom man/ that's how lucky I am".

    I was doing time

    In the universal mind,

    I was feeling fine.

    I was turning keys,

    I was setting people free,

    I was doing alright.

  • There will never be another one like Jim

  • there will never be another one like you

there will never be another one who can do the things you do

  • R.I.P. jim only listening to the doors today.... nothing else

  • Great song...very uderrated

  • Best group ever!

  • SHEER CLASS ONE OF THE TOP 5 DOORS SONGS...........THER WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER ONE LIKE YOU R.I.P JIM

  • Nice :)

  • Mr Mojo Rising

  • this recording is pew pew, though the song is one of their all time best.. (probably top 5)

  • @SixtyMinded

What do you mean by "pew pew" ?

  • @celebrant9 muffled a bit. Dont worry, i wasn't dogging your post. Love the song....

  • "I drink so i can talk to assholes... that includes me"

  • This song has to have the best ending when compared to any other song!

  • This is the door's least known best song.

  • you all know he is not dead right, he's a cowboy now!

  • @donegenaro Oh god, just leave it alone!

  • I thought that yesterday also, while listening to this song.

  • ethernal life for the lizard king !!!!!!!!! desde mexico un saludo alos amantes de the doors

  • the only solution, isn't it amazing?

  • nice

  • cold grinding grizzly bear jaws, hot on your heels!!!

  • I'm in love with this song!

  • Such an awesome song. I love the way Krieger plays guitar on this one. And your mind.....

  • looking back, its seems as if jim wrote this about himself.... think about it, brother

  • @jimmyhopkins15 I always play this track on third of july. Totally agree with you.

  • Im glad to hear these songs again..brings me back to stopping the pain

  • well, i love tis song!! short but so good! the best of this album for me.

  • This is one of the amazing tunes in the history, I love it since I am 5 years old and used to hear my mother's vinyls

  • i dont know what it is. But the music, the words, the whole thing, especially the organ, i can relate to. Im not explaining it right. Its not just music, its life, good and bad.

  • "Play it, brother..."

  • One of my most favorite Doors songs of all time!!

  • One of my favourite Doors tunes, what a shame there arent any live or demo versions. Nice Cave made a career out of this song.

  • Who knows, they may not have been released yet.Let's cross our fingers, lol.

By the way, who's Nice Cave?

  • @celebrant9 lol, ooops! Nick Cave...pardon the mistake.

  • Oh,it's OK,that's what I thought, but you never know,right.

I'm not familiar with Cave's music,so what exactly do you mean by that?

  • @celebrant9 The timing of the song, the feel of it, the "story" feel behind it as well as many many other Doors songs...Nick Cave seems to have been heavily influenced by Morrisons creative style. Cave has mentioned Morrison in a few interviews but in an unflattering light, which leads me to believe in what I am saying even more.

  • "Cave has mentioned Morrison in a few interviews but in an unflattering light, which leads me to believe in what I am saying even more."

Haha,I really like the way you think!

I guess I'll just have to listen to Cave sometime...

Thanks for taking the time to answer.;)

  • @celebrant9 No need for thanks, it was my pleasure to answer. You wouldnt happen to know if there are any videos of The Doors performing "Not To Touch The Earth", would you? In my opinion that is the greatest song of all time, I hope that when I am dying that song is the last thing I hear as I leave this earth.

  • As far as I know, unfortunately no,there aren't any.Yet at least,'cause I know for a fact that there are A LOT of Doors taped concerts that have not surfaced yet.I don't know who to blame though.

  • People lacking the motivation to get their Doors stuff online? Blame their pot dealers..

  • you dont know nick cave? o.O

check out the song: Red right hand

    nice lyrics

  • Thanks,I'll check it.;)

  • @celebrant9 and what did you think of it?

  • Hmmm,I probably have to listen to it a bit more,'cause it didn't really make an impression but perhaps it'll grow into me(it has the potential,I mean I enjoy this style in music). The lyrics however are pretty cool.

  • yeah the lyrics are awesome, im not a big fan of the music to but with such lyrics im sold:P

  • There will never be

    Another one like you

    There will never be

    Another one who can

    Do the things you do.

  • The mozart of rock

  • Such an incredible band.

  • whata psychodelic guitar!

    Very nice!

  • This song is cool. I have just been listening to it for a couple of days now and I cant stop playing it.

  • Thank you for posting. This my fav doors tune!

  • Krieger was over shadowed by Morrison, but really he holds his own.

  • All three of them(Krieger,Manzarek and Densmore) were overshadowed by Jim, since he was the singer and the performer, that's only natural in my opinion.

But if you have ears, you know that they are TOP CLASS musicians. And "Shaman's blues" is just another proof.;)

  • Absolutely no doubt about it Celebrant9, The Doors were a 4-piece, the talent at work in this band is just phenomenal & only someone with the charisma, magic and talent to match could lead such a band. "There will never be another one....." how true. Many imitate but none come near. Each member of this band is an exceptional musician but Jim was just something else altogether.....may he & Pam be forever in peace wherever they are.....

  • Soft Parade is truly one of their best albums imo :D

  • Curses, I sold this LP donkeys yrs ago for the price of a skinfull. Great, dreamy tune.

  • doesnt jim kinda look like chevy chase.ur is ut thine udar wer uround?

    bind zir uzzur jund
