  • I made this chutney today. It came out so good. I added little onion also as I usually do. In my opinion you don't have to cook that long. Just barely 5-6 min is more than enough.

  • hi sanjay..

  • hi sanjay

i see you use lots of oil and salt in your recipies,

can you share some healthy recipies if you have?

    thankyou.

  • @1652youtoo hey, you could probably just reduce the oil in your version, and either less salt, or use salt substitute. Morton makes salt substitute, which you can find in your local grocery store.

  • sanjay what is different btw tomato chutney and (takali toku) and how to make onoin chutney

  • This chutney is very nice. I used to prepare tomato chutney in various ways. This recipe is very nice and my daughter liked it very much. Thank u so much.

  • I dunno dude, I make a pretty slick tomato chutney that is pretty busy and includes sambar powder. You can make lots of different kinds of tomato chutneys. I like mine almost like achar, so it has a big tarka and is very masaledar.

  • so much of oil in the receipe.

  • whoa.. wayyyy toooo much oil ! so definitely tastes good m sure

  • Sanjay here uses whole garlic cloves. Just an advice on garlic: always use chopped or smashed garlic for it's medicinal value. It's the acid in garlic that comes out when smashed or chopped into little pieces that's good for health. If whole cooked whole, it has no medicinal value.

I don't know how much of it makes it into the body after the typical Indian frying / cooking. LOL.

  • @January1st where did you learn this information?

  • tomato chutney should be simple and not so much rich. It is tomota+onion+chilli+salt

    cashew nut is too much

    oil is three much

    cooking time is four much

    any how it was good

  • @skrajend lolz...right on..

  • @skrajend

    good comment

  • @skrajend then this is the chef's posh recipe? Nobody's stopping u from uploading ur own show :D

  • @skrajend Try to appreciate what he did...What he did is great (except oil) and cooking is all about patience....

tomota+onion+chilli+salt does not give you tomato chutney but tomato curry...

  • @smog1980jr I think I did my appreciation in the last and no one need to teach me.

  • @skrajend : i agree.... too much oil and again tempering with Ghee.

  • sanjay the chutney came out so well, but i strongly suggest you to cut down the down the oil li'l bit........

  • I am a Bengali wife - most of the time cooking rice n curry. First time visited your site, went thru your recipes. Tried them & loved them.Tomato chutney (with mint) is my fav! Thanks a lot!

  • Sanjay, It is amazing that you teach so many dishes that too in 8/9 minutes, I have learned lot of dishes by watching your video, my family members have started appreciating my cooking. All the credit goes to you.

    Thanks a million

    Niteen D.

    Cheers

  • I always make tomato thokku(Similar to pickle) & keep it stored for several days. I use sesame oil in it which gives very distinct flavor.

This also goes very well when you are on a tour & it stays fresh for several days without refrigeration.
