@teo3city this is the actual story whyle you play the game these moovies will play along with it there are alot of series tied with this one i shall enumerate all the games starting from the beggining:blood omen,blood omen 2,soul reaver 1 soul reaver 2 and finally legacy of kain defiance(this is at least from my opinion the best one made refering to the moves,graphics etc)so if you wanna understand the story fully i suggest you start from the beggining(4 the 1st parts you need a primitive comp)

@GaradrielS humans already existed, Vorador was a servant of Janos. the sword & the pillars were done around the same time. There are a few places where it's mentioned that the Pillars are the lock, and the sword is the Key. Janos was was the Tenth Guardian, the guardian of the sword. The vampires realized that they needed to change humans into vampires, because they could no longer bear children. That's part of the reason that humans rose up against them. At least that's how i remember it.

He tricked Kain into traveling back in time and killing a beloved king of the people (who in Kain's time becomes the tyrant Nemesis) and when he returned, Moebius had used it to ignite the people's hatred of vampires.

Actually, it's Lovecraft's Diary, and when it was translated, it was french. It was in athread somewhere in the eidos forums. I don'y know if I remember correctly, but when translated to english, it sounded like a prayer to the EG.
The Legacy of Kain series IS definitely one of the best games series by far. It would be so cool if they made movies of the games but we wouldn't want anyone to ruin the legacy now would we. Usually if they make a movie(s) of something, they change alot of the fine details, which is not what we want to happen!

Turel was NOT possessed by the Hylden Lord, but by a few of other Hylden, probably also quite important guys. The cultists though still named Turel "Hash'ak'gik" because they didn't know so.
Then what was inside turel? i figured they called him Hash'ak'gik becuse they didnt know his real name, plus, if memory serves right, the green ghost thing jumped to mortanius after turels' death.
No. As i said, Turel was possessed by a few not named (in game) Hylden. Mortanius was possessed by the Hylden Lord himself. The green fire that appeared in the victim's eyes is a common trait among all those who were possessed by the Hylden. The Hylden were a whole race, not one guy who "jumped from Turel to Mortanius".
A slight misunderstanding there, Raziel and Kain are not one and the same. Raziel realised that fate had toyed with him the same way it had Kain and he finally realised that Kain was trying to folow his true destiny. The soul reaver before was incomplete as Raziel did not wish to become part of it. This time however he is fully imbued with all the guardians of the pillars and he willingly joins with the reaver, realising and accepting that his fate was unimportant and he was there to help kain.

The game is just perfect in every sense, but in my opinion it was too easy, I finished it in a few days and I have been years starving for more of LOK..... Anyway Kain is the best character!!!!

You played all except Blood Omen 1? Well, in terms of story and atmosphere, BO1 is still the best of the series, and I loved Defiance just because it was a chance to play through classic BO1 locations (like Kain's Mausoleum, Vorador's castle) for the first time in 3D.
game with the best story-line of all time, and a very, VERY good game. I need help from many fansite to fully understand the story. Played all except Blood Omen 1.
Still some of the best voice acting I've come across. Actually, I"d say it's probably the best.

... ok I have a question... , why is it that yanos the very first vampire of nosgoth, or any other vampire cant be conscious without their heart, but kain can be conscious without his heart (raziel tore kains heart out, well it was yanos's)... ok what im basically asking is, yanos + no heart = unconscious ... kain + no heart = conscious ... but why? yanos is just as old as kain is, if not older...

His Pride does. Kain choses to rule a decaying empire rather the kill himself.
Later you learn that if Kain killed himself to "restore balance". The world would have come out worse.

For one the Scion of Balance thing, but for another remember that Janos is an ancient. The last remaining one at that.
His race is the precursor to the modern vampire race, but not the same. He and Kain are two very different animals.

The game is just perfect in every sense, but in my opinion it was too easy, I finished it in a few days and I have been years starving for more of LOK..... Anyway Kain is the best character!!!!

You played all except Blood Omen 1? Well, in terms of story and atmosphere, BO1 is still the best of the series, and I loved Defiance just because it was a chance to play through classic BO1 locations (like Kain's Mausoleum, Vorador's castle) for the first time in 3D.
