  • Joe, Learned more watching your video than taking lessons, good job. But, how do we learn what strings or groups to play, to get minor notes & etc on one chord, regaurding your last video(G chord). I just can't seem to get it. Any help would be much apprecaited. Thank you, for keeping a dying breed of steel players alive. dave h

  • @Haz1115 Dave thanks for the kind words sorry ive not responded till now, ive been on a road tour and well still out at the moment.drop me a email to jba9328547@aol.com when i get back home I will give you a more detailed take on this

  • i am new (very new) to the pedal steel. Can you please send me a a helpful organization chart?. Which of your videos should i look at first? And then can you tell me the order to go next, the sequence?

    thanks

    Geoffrey P. Radoff, M.D. gprmd@aol.com

    thanks

  • Good morning to you, well I dont have any kind of chart put together for my videos I just make them then may not make another for a few weeks later but I can tell you that if you are new that you can never learn too much scales learn them till your sick of them then apply them to tracks go forward with them go backwards start from the middle go left and right that opens many doors for you at that point. stop and ask yourself why is it this way is always a plus

  • Joe I'm still new to music theory, but isn't the 7th a f# diminished?

I believe the 7th is always diminished, don't know if there is any exceptions to that rule.

Thanks for the great work and videos.

  • you are welcome and thanks for watching. I myself rarely use diminished chords and I know what you are saying is correct. Joe

  • Good job Joe,This video helps alot, Thank You so much,MrChuckBro

  • you are very welcome and thanks for watching

  • Joe, all your theory lessons are very helpful to me. Thanks for posting them.

    Rob, the Netherlans

  • you are most welcome, there is more to come. I dont post anything on week ends the guitar is used over the week end and I usally set it back up late Sunday night or sometimes wait till Monday. depends on how burn out I am. go check out some of the piano lessons here in you tube I have got tons of use from them. very very helpful

  • Thanks for your response !! And thanks for what you are doing ,,i am picking up a lot from your lessons !!! If you ever get the time i would like to see how the string chiming is done [ harominics ] ?? spelling might be off LOL ! But thanks !! Jim

  • thanks for your comment, I will be posting more soon, had to stop and work little on my ebay. I collect and sale 45 rpm records of the 50.s up to about mid 70,s, I will post something on harmonics for you. but heres how you think about it say your bar is on third fret string four take your middle finder and go to the 15th fret as you pick the string touch it lightly you finger must chime at the 15th while you wil most likely be picking the string at the 14th fret

  • Thanks Joe,,this is a big help to me ! Looks like you have an 8 string ! I have a 8 string fender 400 ,,3 + 1 setup ! I wish you had more light on your strings !! Thanks !! jks

  • you are welcome. Its a double 10 emmons legrande. I do have a 8 string supro though. yes sometimes the lighting is poor. depends on the time of day I do it. if you have any questions about a position feel free to ask me and I will explain it. I had a fender one time placed it in storage and someone took it thats been years ago boy that was a fine guitar.
