What ever happened to 6 minute songs being a short song? The one thing that makes me not get into hardcore or metalcore that much is the lack of solo and the songs are generally short. Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth to name a few, all have bitchin solos and long songs (and with Metallica, forget about their new stuff, everybody knows they can't write music anymore)

@iamcoolshoot the thing is with maiden, tallica megadeth and co, they make music that you can appreciate listening to, theyre kinda bands you go to see them play, watch thier musical brilliance, have a bit of a windmill and refocus yourself for the epic solo, that takes you on a journey, whereas the likes of this is more about being in the pit, thrashing your pals about, i think more than 4 mins a song and folk would be passing out from exhaution, well its what i think anyays

@iamcoolshoot I will agree with you that in relation to some of the older bands, solos typically are seen less in modern-day hardcore and metalcore music. However, many bands still have some very intricate and mind-blowing solos. If you haven't heard of them already, look up a band called Unearth, they have some pretty nice solos in a lot of their songs. Bullet for my Valentine also tends to have some nice solos in many of their songs.

Well, gave manntis a shot. in my opinion they suck, nothing original at all. Even the half step riff progressions have been done by a billion other hardcore/metal crossovers. I guess it depends on which band you listened to and liked the most that does the same shit. not bad, but not great.
