  • At one point in my childhood the game was the ONLY thing that mattered lol.

My freinds and I took it so seriously that we actually get pissed off at each other and got into fights because of this game. It was terrible when you lost a game because you wouldnt get to power up and your freind would! And then you'd be screwed!

  • This was a great game, played it a ton when I was ~8 years old. Problem is, I played it so much that the "runners in scoring position" music bored into the deepest corners of my mind. It was only about 6 measures long, so it could repeat hundreds of times if you played for a few hours.

I just caught myself humming that music this afternoon, probably the first time in over a decade. Had to come find this video on youtube to make sure that the music came from here and I wasn't going mad.

  • I used to love playing this game and making seasons. The one thing I hated more than all was turning on the game to find my data erased.

But with this game, I think it's safe to say that this game was one of the greatest to hit a console. I remember setting seasons up with the Ladies as one of the teams as a guaranteed prestige -- beating the ladies for an upstart team helped bring in more than any of their other premade teams.

  • The Lovely Ladies looked like men when they were on base or out on the field but looked like ladies when someone was pitching or up to bat. I could never understand that.

  • @PJSkins26

I used to create a team and play the lovely ladies over and over again on two player to build the ultimate team! Used to use the ten run rule and get lots of $ in a short time. I spent most of my time building teams and less on actual gameplay. Best game ever!

  • great game

  • this game was the shit back in the day

  • I can't remember but there was another BB game I played on a NES once.

It was a 1 of fours game sin a gold catraidge

  • What they need to do is make this game available to download on the Wii Virtual Console... They would sell SO many copies... I have this game on the original NES but my sister has the system and I can't play it that often. I would buy this game in a heart beat if I had the chance...

  • Why didn't you pick the American Dreams?

  • Remember when you would throw it home from deep in the field, it would take forever to bounce ten thousand times and finally get there?

  • whoever is playing sucks

  • best NES game ever made

  • god! he didn't see it coming!

  • I always wanted an MLB version of this game with real rosters and such

  • AWESOME GAME... I can remember playing this and loving it as a kid!

  • Damn, I miss this game! :(

Easily one of my favorites growing up.

  • i spent a whole summer putting together a team that was better than the american dreams. my pitcher could hit homers lol.

then of course it got deleted, dumb battery pack

    so heres what i did

i started a lot of teams and traded all the good players to my team. then to get money to up grade i played league against the top teams.

  • Yup, that's the way to do it. It takes a while, but making new teams to trade the high-max players is what always do.

  • This was the first console baseball game that actually tracked stats. That was my favorite part of the game along with the ability to rob home runs.

  • @slap1328 I agree and you were able to create your own teams and name the players as well!!!

  • I wish they would put this on the virtual console

  • We have a baseball stars fan club on facebook if anyone's interested.

  • the best baseball game for the nes.

  • I really like that rhythmic beat it switches to after it goes to 2nd base.

  • Man, the Monkeys got really spanked in that game. :-/ Seriously, though, it's probably the greatest baseball game ever. I still own it. :)

  • Exileander: "Man, the Monkeys got really spanked in that game."

    ...I C WUT U DID THAR

But yes, probably the greatest baseball game ever. Mostly because it does more things correctly than modern ones.

  • @Exileander wish they had a new baseball stars game available

  • Can't tell you how many teams and leagues we started on this game. Remember you used to get a lot of money for beating the girls team lol. Oh god, memories. p.s. Welcome back to Seattle Ken Griffey Jr.

  • the dreamteam baby....everything about this game is amazing... building your own dream team...

i used to save up my money and by the top player you can get...i called him CECIL

as in cecil fielder...and that mother fucker would wholop homers like it was going out of style

  • fun game to play :D

  • does anybody remember the secret code to get the all american classic team?? you had to do it at the main selection screen where you pick your game type.

  • What is a wren?

    A bird.

  • Grunspreke:

    When isn't it?

    When it is.

  • yes a wren is a bird.

  • AmiriKing: You missed the point.

  • @AmiriKing i love that code i made an all girls team and they killed my friend

  • Heck yeah. I had a brother and 3 stepbrothers, and we each created a team and had our own league. We never did get all the way through a season before accidentally erasing the data, but that didn't stop us from starting all over again several times.

  • a new version of baseball stars would be incredible... keep everything the same except for graphics

  • CLASSIC NES game, it was the shit back in the day...damn...brings back memories man. Thanks for the upload.

  • not too hard when you're playing by yourself.

  • benleafs: That's true.

  • Great game. I will add a tool assisted video of this game soon. Be sure to come by some time!
