i'd say with rigor mortis they're one of the most underrated thrash metal bands.i've seen them last year in bochum at metropole ruhr festival with accu§er,desaster and some other bands.forbidden headlined this day and it was really sad, because they gave one of the most awesome thrashing shows i've ever seen and there weren't more than 50-70 people, while there were 4times more people when desaster played..and most disappointing was that the ruhrpott is thebirthplace of bands like sodom or kreator
This brings back memories BIG time! I saw this show when it passed through Detroit in 1989. They opened for Death Angel and blew them away! We left before Death Angel came on for their encore and we talked to Paul Bostaph who was in front of the hall. They shredded!!!
Man I would give anything to be able to go see a thrash metal gig back in like '86 or whatever but I just had to be born in 1995 so that isn't going to happen. :(
REALMENTE-IMPRESIONANTEMENTE-SUPER-MEGA-EXTREMADAMENTE-IMPOSIBLEMENTE-DANTESCAMENTE-EXPLOSIVAMENTE-BRUTALMENTE-VERDADERAMENTE (¿COMO Y CON QUE PALABRAS EXPRESARLO?) LO BUENA QUE ESTA ESTA CANCION.
Today's metal can't be even a shit to this..... Trust me if they do the time travel to 1988 and play live with this band.... They would be perished in one nanosecond as this band plays live.
wasn't this the ultimate revenge 2? a friend of mine had this video.I think the guitarist with the shorter hair left the band by Twisted into Form and the drummer later joined Slayer
Fuck yeah!!!! This is how its done! I can't wait for this Friday in Frisco.... Forbidden, Evile, Gama Bomb, Bonded By Blood And Fog Of War its gonna be the show of the year!
Band falls apart at 2:03 and reconvenes at 2:23. Equipment fails at 2:41 and band survives all this with the best live metal riffs and solos ever beginning at 3:02! Forbidden, the unsung heroes of all thrash metal \m/!!!!!!
@jlongu Yeah maybe the monitors were a little weak they went off time but saved it. These guys are legends,Way bettr.than metallica when they were young, but now they are very out of shape ;-(
this is what real 80's bay area thrash was all about. anyone who's ever melted the old glass can relate with the lyrics too. mysterious, scary and intense, just like the song.
OOOooooo el loco es demasiado groso ctm el medio solo....Uno de los mejores solos que he escuchado en este tipo de Bandas, el Solo es super claro y limpio...This is Really Thrash Metal¡¡¡¡
I have to admit, I feel really honored to have been 18 in '89. It really was a great time. The Berlin Wall falls, the culture, the bands. Vio-Lence, Forbidden, Slayer, Megadeth, Voivod, Sanctuary, and the list goes on and on. What a great time period.
AND I was at this show! I was 25 back in 89' and let me tell you, hearing this song live was awesome.
Forbidden is one of the truly underrated bands of the genre.Glen's solo is just unbelievable-this video captures the raw energy really well, but hearing it LIVE...no comparison.
I miss these days..And seeing Death, and NWOBHM legends Raven in action was a real plus. Raven have a new album out too, it's called "Walk Through Fire."
I also got to see Forbidden at Airport Music Hall in Allentown PA in 1990. They opened for Death Angel, with War And Peace being the middle act.
Even cooler? I met 3 of the guys from Death Angel as they walked around the crowd just talking with people. I met Andy Galeon, Gus Pepa and Mark Osegueda.
Andy was right next to me as Forbidden were setting up before the show and I didn't know it until I turned to one side. Then we started talking. Great time!
We almost lost Andy in the bus accident shortly after this.
At the end of this tour, Dirk Sommers, the DA manager, dumped bags of flour into the fans at the end of the last set. We worked flour-water paste out of their hair for a week, especially Matt and Paul.
even that little error sounds cool... some of today's bands would probably feature pre-recorded vocals, triggered double bass parts... not to mention, Forbidden could give any modern metrosexual "metal" jock band a good kick in the ass
Just watched some Dark Angel... this drummer is no Hoglan but WOW, I can tell what the guitarists in Forbidden are playing! Dark Angel sounds like a mess.

You know, you cant really compare
anyway, Bostaph and Hoglan do share something in common, as drummers; both worked with Slayer, one as a tech (Gene) and one as official drummer (Paul)
these dumbasses in the crowd are just standing there i would have gone crazy stage diving even if i had seen them a bunch of times if you aint gonna go crazy at a show dont go stagediving and pitting are what put tht icing on the cake at shows
Yea dude, you are right. I think the same when watching the DVD. Just some of them are banging and moshing, there are also some pozers, I mean glam rockers who dont really understand thrash.
I fucking love that solo, Glen is an awesome shredder! Kick ass song...and the line-up with Death and Dark Angel, Daaamn! When are they going to invent a time machine!?
Zag ze op graspop voor de eerste maal, heb staan headbangen van begin tot einde, het is een schande voor mezelf dat ik ze niet in mijn jeugdjaren kende!!!!!!Vind ik trouwens hun beste nummer
I was lucky enough to see these guys on tour in 1989 with testament and death angel, metal shows were the bomb in those days!! I'm 40 yrs young now and still a thrasher!
All hail Glen Alvelais!!!One of the best shredders ever,& way ahead of his time. Somebody call Guitar World and give these guys some Fuckin credit already.Forbidden= Bay Area Thrash gods!!!!
I used to go see them all the time when I lived in the Bay Area, late 80's early 90's. The Bay Area Thrash scene was hot with Forbidden. Such an awesome band, as good as it gets.
