  • Beautiful sound; well played.

  • cool song,very nicely done..:)

  • clean your room dude.

  • @lilbill73

    True, true.... ;-)

  • Very nice! Inspired by Johnson, but you definitely take it in its own direction.

  • complimenti!

  • great! and the lyrics are really poetic

    I love it

  • TOP

  • cool song robert johnson king of blues

  • Have you heard Bob Dylans 'cough song'?

you're in good company, well played!

  • i love this dude. you play very well rj woulda loved it too.

  • Well done vleb! RJ would be proud of you. Love the National resonator. The cough gives the song a little extra character, maybe the blues brought on by terminal illness (I certainly hope not), or need of another cigarette. Keep up the good work!

  • very nice man gave me goosebumps

  • Could i ask what kind of tuning is used in this song?

    Fanx alot for the answers:

  • Open D

  • You' re very good at playin':)

Excuse me for annoying you, do you mean DADGAD?

'Coz there are several open D tunings that i know about.

I'm expecting my first dobro guitar and i have played always with standard tunings.

  • Thank you for your kind words...

    This is usual open D = D A D F# A D

Wellcome to the great world of open tunings and slide guitars ;-)

  • That's beautiful! Tnx for sharing!

  • who wrote this song?? i heard a version on the movie "crossroads" was it kenny neal? where can i find tabs?

  • Actually, this is my own song very much inspired by Robert Johnson's "Hellhound on my trail"...or it's RJ's song with my very own touch ;-)

  • this blew my mind man. id without a doubt pay

to go and see u play this lol.

u shuld post a newer version and cut out the coff:P

really sick song man well done ive bin listenin to it for ages x

  • Can't stop listening to this... Any advice?

  • great performance!

  • Man, very nice playing. definately made the song

your own. not only nice sounding playing, really

    good structure.

it's a heartbreaking song, also from johnson.

man, you should get a super sweet singerin (<- spelled right?) that would be cool.

  • haha doesnt make his bed even for the video, I like not having a wife either man hahaha

    good playing

  • haha...I can see your point but...wrong ! I'm a happy married man, with a wife as lazzy as me about house keeping ;-)

  • oh well then your one of the luckiest guys i know! nice playing

  • whats the tab for this song....its very good

  • I can feel it! good job man

  • thats cool new twist on delta blues

  • Can you post a newer version of this? I'm really interested in hearing it again.

  • I like it a lot.

  • The playing is awesome, but I think you need to drive your voice lower - dunno, any other uneducated opinions?

  • You're absolutely right...I'm working on that. I've had some singing lessons since this video, and it's getting better, well, I hope so ;-)

  • Can I ask what kind of guitar that is - I've seen something like it used by the older blues players..seems a mix between guitar and violin structure.

  • Its called a resonater.

and the video was really good, i really like your playing.

  • That was fucking awesome. Keep playin man, we need more lyracicst like you!

  • wooow... man.. i have no words...

  • wow...you done gone and made me a fan...you should record...but I actually like the low quality recording...sounded very timeless.

  • alot of emotion in tht, love it

  • wow, good

  • yah what's the tuning

  • open D...

  • Nice touch and I kinda got a Fred McDowell in terms of slide work. Your a much better acoustic player than I am and I need to play acoustic more often.

  • i totaly got the skip james touch with it as well.

  • has kind of a skip james feel to it, brilliant!

  • Just need to leave a comment here. I usually hear this songs every day now, it's something with it :)

Very good mate, send in more videos.

  • the guitar kinda sounds like "cant find my way home" if it had been played by Robt J ;o)....quite a bit faster that the master...i like it tho the slide bites like RJ and the vocal is pretty similar . :o)

    five stars *****

  • never mind, has got to be open d tuned up a half step.

  • very nice. The slide sounds really haunting, just like in RJ's masterpiece. Do you play it in in open G tuned up a half step or open d tuned up a half step?

  • top quality. sounds really authentic

  • I like it, makes me think of Skip James.

  • Very cool brother! Excellent stuff man!

  • "Hellhound On My Trail" is my favorite Robert Johnson tune. And I really, really loved this. It's very haunting.

You posted this last year, so I doubt you still even read these comments, but either way, it was great. Your voice is just wonderful.

  • Your song is very impressive, there's something special in this piece :) this sad atmosphere, Your voice and vlebonator's sound - I really love them :)

  • hey great work, did you improvise some of this cause i downloaded the song from robert johnson and and your version is diff. if you can remember what the tabs are or if u still got them can you plz send them to me coz this is just a beautifull song. great job

  • Thanks for your comment ! This song came out RJ's piece...May be the start was my misunderstood of "hellhound on my trail" wich switched to "blues falling down like rain" ;-). Anyway, this is an "original" piece of mine, with a major influence by RJ. So, no tabs.

  • Salut, c'est magnifique!

  • Nice arrangement. I like how the song opens, like the beginning of a light rain. It sets a nice mood--dark, but calm. I agree the guitar sounds great as well.
