yeah.. TJC USE to be cool. now we have to wear our student ids around our necks like prisoners or something. and theres not even a smoking area anywhere. and this school is now becomming a real rat-hole. im getting the hell out of here. i use to be proud to be a student here and to be a faculty member. now im ashamed of both. as soon as i can im moving to UT austin. and they need to get their fundamentalists out of teaching positions. this is a college. not mythology school.
I was in the longview hs band and had just finished marching when the TJC band played. I think everybody was blown away by that warm up..LOUD. this was the reason i came to TJC and joined the band
@jorut07 Man you have no idea how much the crowd affected us after this warmup. That day was a hell day, starting at 7 AM. We did a practice run through in the morning, marched the parade to Rose Stadium to perform it there, went to the TVCC game, after halftime loaded up and headed to Longview. It was pretty fun, but by the time we got on the field in Longview, we were tired and performing a 4th time seemed a little daunting....
@jorut07 but after we played our warm up and heard the reaction from the crowd, it pumped us up big time, like a shot of adrenaline. This was probably one of my favorite performances of my marching band life. Mr. Mensch (sp?) was an amazing band director, i miss TJC.
