@freecricket911 and @swiftums i had the same problems but what i did was looked up on youtube how to get safari download manager for free and watch a video that shows you how to do it then install it and then i should work well thats what i think made it work unless i did something else but try it (:

Jim, thanks for the post! I have an iPhone 3GS and i went through all of these steps (ifile, safari DL plugin installed). I can download the file into the "Downloads" folder but when I click on it to preview (before or after adding the .m4r file ext), it does nothing. It will shoot into the "iPod" controls and show that the song is 30 seconds in the song list but shows 0:00 in the actual player. I can't get the song to actually play, but I can get it to show in the Ringtone list in settings.

I tried this on my husbands phone too to make sure that there wasn't just a problem with mine.. I followed every step and when I pasted the song into ring-tones it said that it was not possible.

When I cut the song and add it to the ringtones folder, It says adding to folder and then it automatically takes me to the springboard. When I go to sounds under my settings the songs do not show up. I am not sure why it is not working but I have done exactly everything in the video.

ok so i had a problem locating which link i wanted.. so i looked at the MediaCache folder and noticed that each time i previewed a song a new "CachedMedia" would appear so i deleted the other "CachedMedia" files.. and previewed another song to test my little experiment.. and if you notice at the end it has some sort of code.. so if you go to "diskcacherrepository.plist" and search that code above the code should be the link of the song you just previewed.. hope this helps! & thx for the tip jim
