im going to start teaching my gelding to do this. hes very intelligent and well mannered on the lead line but lunging him and free lunging him he likes to get a little playful and assertive. is there anything i can do to fix him playing up when lunging without being super aggressive back?
that was so full of information! my bestie is getting a purebred 8 year old arabian gelding and she is really interested in teaching him tricks and stuff so i'm totally using this to help her! lol. so awesome!
Interesting way of doing it. I taught my horse just by holding her leg and using pressure cues on her neck to lower her head. I never thought of a hobble lol!!!
Do you know how to break a horse i kant find a video for that. i just got a horse thats like 8 bt i need to break him in like everything. in riding, standing still(bt hobbles can help4 that, an daddle and bridle.
look up parelli....you can learn everything from ground manners (and very kindly to the horse) then riding for the first time, to collection and finesse.
I strongly suggest using that. also, look up mark rashid, monty roberts...
I tried this with my 6 year old Holstiener. It seemed to be working very well, he will pick up his foot but he doesn't want to shift his body weight back even if i pull back pretty hard on the reins. He's usually very willing to please, and not stubborn. Any pointers for shifting him backwards and getting the front end to come down?
What the the eventual cue you give when in the saddle with no rope a pull on the left rein?

It works with any horse that you have control over. Make sure your stallion respects you first!
